Thank you Tamlyn for the video. Always nice to see what you are doing or your makes. You don't have to apologize for not posting you a very busy lady. Both of the dresses look great. I love the fabrics. Thank you.
They are both lovely on you. The excess in the back of the Sicily dress that you noticed is a result of the bias cut fabric and it's not something you need to remove: it's a feature that is intended to skim your curves and create a curvaceous silhouette that is not tight around your waist at either the front or back, but undulates like an hourglass, from the bust down to the hem which flares out slightly, mimicking the curve around the hips. It's an elegant and sexy shape which suits many body shapes, as you and Jess both showed. I like that you embraced the longer lengths as it shows off the bias cut better when the hem ends at least below the knee. I think you could do a SBA if you wanted to lift the neckline a bit for a less formal version of the Sicily, although for an event, the neckline works. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous, simple dresses and great fabric choices. So many lovely fabrics at Rainbow fabrics at the moment but I love the green ditsy daisy one. Perfect for summer 🌸
Hi Tamlyn, both you and Jess have made beautiful dresses. My favorite has to be the Sicily but it is a more event style dress. Rainbow has some very beautiful fabrics, I love the annalise lavender floral viscose crepe. Very lovely. Both dresses were worth the wait by the way😍
Both your dresses are beautiful Tamlyn! I think my favourite is the saltwater, it seems so versatile! After watching your first video talking about the Saltwater, I purchased the pattern! My favourite fabric at Rainbow Fabrics is the green and white ditsy daisy viscose.
Both dressed look great. I love the look of a bias cut dress! I think a seater over the top would dress it down and give u more wearing options. My favourite fabric from Rainbow fabrics is Rosie blue floral viscose crepe. Thank you. Great video.
Looking great!! Love the purple dress on you so lovely! Favourite fabric on rainbow fabrics its definitely the mustard and navy striped viscose.. its dreamy.
It is always good to be pleasantly surprised. The bias draped beautifully on you. You should make the other version in a more casual fabric maybe a light wt linen.
I love both your dresses - the Sicily is absolutely stunning on you. For the giveaway I'm really drawn to the various viscose challis fabrics , particularly the azure blue ditsy floral one.
The Sicily is beautiful on you, but it is definitely a special occasion dress. I love the saltwater because it's more of a day dress. A good toned body shape is a plus with both dresses. Both beautiful.
The Saltwater Slip looks fabulous on you -I'm working on making one now. You can never have too many! Loved looking around on Rainbow Fabrics site and my fav is the Green White Ditsy Daisy Viscose Challis Fabric.
Both patterns look fabulous on you Tamlyn. My favourite is the saltwater in that stunning emerald green fabric. I love the black & white flower brushstrokes too. The Sicily is so lovely on yo, very sophisticated but I definitely wouldn’t get away with the bias cut or the deep plunge so I’ll be sticking with the saltwater as it suits my shape and comfort zone 😜 I’m off to visit Jess’s channel now to see what fabrics she used 🙌🙌😍😎
Thanks so much for sharing. Love both dresses. You look great on both of them. I will be making both dresses. I already have the Sicily slip dress pattern. God bless.
Hi Tamlyn. Love both dresses and the fabric choices too. I'm a massive Rainbow Fabrics fan. My favourite from them today is the Retro Line Art Black Polyester Poplin.
Hello Tamlyn, loving both your dresses. Think my favourite would be the Saltwater as can be dressed up or down and very versatile. The Sicily dress is perfect for any special occasion. My favourite Rainbow Fabrics material is GREEN/WHITE DITSY DAISY SUSTAINABLE SOFT VISCOSE CHALLIS.
Love them both Tamlyn I agree both suit different occasions the Sicily is a wowza. Think you need to plan in a night out so you can wear it. I’ve been thinking of making the saltwater but I’m not sure with my shape. My fabric choice from Rainbow fabrics would be the new pink star with hearts ecovero viscose I think it’s so cute 💕
Stunning slip dresses. Love both the fabrics too. Thank you for sharing them 😊. I am sure you will find just the right time to wear the Scily slip dress. In regards to the giveaway I found two fabrics, one for the saltwater slip dress which is the Pink stars and hearts echovero viscose and for the Scily slip dress the purple daisy boarder satin. Thank you for another lovely Vlog.
Lovely dresses! I really like the Melinda viscose- black with rust spots. I don’t think I’d go for a slip dress, but it would make an amazing Zadie jumpsuit I think, or maybe a long shirt.
Both lovely dresses and both really suit you. Definitely agree the Saltwater slip is more versatile. I don't have many occasions for a dress like the Silicy either, would be a bit too much for the school run! My favourite fabric on Rainbow fabrics at the moment is the pink/black Aztec bordered viscose. I think the border print would really suit a summery floaty skirt.
I absolutely love the Saltwater Slip on you! Much more versatile for day to day wear 😊 that being said, I think you also look incredible in the Sicily too ❤️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these patterns. You don't need to apologise. Sewing is your hobby and you can post when/ if it suits you. I think the Sicily looks stunning on you, but I can see why you prefer the Saltwater for your style. Maybe you could do the knotted t-shirt trick over the Sicily too. The draped neckline may be soft enough for the fabric not to be bunching up underneath. Then it could dress down as well if you want to get a bit more wear out of it. I think the Melinda spot viscose crepe would be the best bet for me. It would go nicely with tan sandals but still look fine if it is a dull day. I'm always more tempted by the fancier fabrics though.
Loved seeing your versions, hope you find an excuse to wear the Sicily! My favourite fabric at the moment is the periwinkle polka dot. BTW good to see you back!
Tamlyn you look beautiful in both dresses but I think I love the saltwater dress the best because more wearable and really flatters your figure. Ps the outtakes are the best, they really make me smile. My choice of fabric from Rainbow fabrics would be the BLACK-RED BOHO POLKA FLORAL VISCOSE CHALLIS. I love the pattern on this fabric so much.
My favourite fabric on Rainbow fabrics site is the the pink stars and hearts ecoviro viscose 💕💕. Being plus size, I’d probably go more for the saltwater slip as bias cut dresses aren’t always the most forgiving!! Your Sicily looks stunning on you - I hope you get a chance to wear it out and show it off soon ☺️
Your videos always make me smile. I love both the dresses but my favorite is the green (I'm thinking though that your husbands favorite will be the bias cut because you look fabulous in it) I looked at Rainbow fabrics and made my very hard choice...the peachy viscose wool...I'm in love
I prefer the Sicily slip dress. But I agree with you that it is more for special occasions. Both look lovely on you. My favourite fabric from rainbow fabrics is RUST GINGER TENCEL SATIN
Both look gorgeous on you 😍 My fave for day to day would be the Saltwater but for night time defo the Sicily. Not sure that helps you 😂 My favourite fabric at the moment from Rainbow fabrics 🌈 would have to be the WHITE/GREEN FLORAL SUSTAINABLE SOFT VISCOSE CHALLIS 🙌 How exciting! Thanks for your funny informative vlogs, always nice to watch. Lil xx
Luv both dresses on you... agree that the saltwater is more any "everyday" cut dress versus the sicily be a more "special occasion" dress... that said the sicily dress fits your body very well and perhaps with a more everyday fabric and a cardigan could lean more toward an every day dress.
They both look amazing on you the Sicily looked awesome it shows off your figure perfectly.I don’t think it goes up to a larger size if I remember as I think it would show lumps and bumps.c
they both look great! the saltwater definitely seems more day to day wear, and as you say much more versatile. My favourite fabric from Rainbow at the moment is the stars and hearts ecovero viscose

They both look great! I'd make a Saltwater slip from the large orange floral viscose from Rainbow Fabrics. Definitely going to make one so I can layer tops underneath and wear for work ☺️
Hi love both dresses on you although your right about Sicily for dressing up. I would love to make one out of the Neon Pink / blue leaf viscous challis from Rainbow Fabrics and a saltwater slip in their pink viscous linen blend x
Beautiful dresses! I love how the biased cut dress fits you, makes me want to try a biased cut dress. I want to enter the giveaway and love the pink flamingo viscose fabric🥰🥰There are so many nice fabrics on their site!

I really loved the Sicily on you. I have not made either one yet. I will go watch Jess's video too. I thought this rainbow fabric would be lovely to sew with PALE LILAC FOREST TREE 100% COTTON.
You look lovely in both dresses Tamlyn and I agree with you about the bra straps ! If I made the saltwater I would choose Fiona blush floral ecovero viscose crepe or black/white hearts viscose. X
Your sicily dress is beautiful 😍 I'm not confident enough to wear a slip dress so fabric I would choose from rainbow fabrics would instead be to make a shacket, I really like the look of the red-white-navy tartan check wool mix x
I love the Sicily dress on you! So pretty and the fabric is to die for. If I were to chose fabric from Rainbow Fabrics for this dress, I would like the MARIGOLD PAISLEY VISCOSE CHALLIS fabric. Thank you for the opportunity to enter.
I really liked the collaboration and the dresses both you and Jess made - you both look fabulous in them 🤩 My current favourite fabric at Rainbow fabrics is the kelsie green and peach floral organic cotton....which is sold out 😢
You are totally buzzing with your FPC dress - isn’t it great when a me made does that 😍. I couldn’t wear either as am big chested and not body confident right now but I’d use the ginger tencel satin to make a FPC Davenport dress 😊
both dresses look fab on you, I think I might have to buy the saltwater pattern. my favorite fabric from rainbow fabrics is ANNALISE LAVENDER FLORAL ECOVERO VISCOSE CREPE
I like both slip dresses on you. I generally don't like the straight neckline of the Saltwater slip dress on anyone, but it does look good on you. But I love the drapey neckline on the Sicily slip dress and think it looks stunning on you. As for my favourite fabric, I love all Rainbow Fabrics' fabric. So I narrowed it down to 2 of them. They aren't suitable for a slip dress though. But I just love them. They are the Olive green tiger cotton and Kelsey green and peach organic cotton (even though it isn't available any more).
Oh love the Saltwater Slip and can see it looking for in the black beige star viscose eco fabric from Rainbow Fabtics. Heading over to check out your pals versions . Thank you 😊
I think both were beautiful on you! I lived how you gave thoughts on the directions and how the construction process went. Since I am older I would most likely make the Saltwater pattern and make a top to go over it. I think I would like it out of the azure blue, ditzy floral viscose Challis. I can see my daughter wearing this dress. I also think the Sicily would be a comfy nightgown.
Love the Saltwater slip on you so much that I've just ordered the pattern for myself haha! Had a gander on Rainbow Fabrics and I would choose this fabric for a long Saltwater slip 🤩 BLACK/BEIGE STAR ECOVERO VISCOSE CREPE it would look good with any colour top 🤞 xx
Both dresses look stunning on you. I think I would veer towards the Saltwater for it's versatility (I'm not one who's much for dressing up). Thanks for the review I think I may just have to buy the Saltwater now.
