There is a new update for No Man's Sky on the way! Sean Murray just tweeted a single emoji, a shooting star, and that is the first sign right before a new update. I am breaking down what we need to look for to make sure the update is coming, and speculate about what this star update may mean.

This is a fast update and I love it. My guess is that they had some time to work on updates since the last 6 months has been pretty light on content. Hopefully this is the big one with the new space stations......
What do you think will be in this update?
That's the emoji for "dizzy" which I find very odd. But he's weird, and Orange for origins hahaha (Which btw I still can't say outloud cos my mouth won't do it ahhaha) I'm hoping for the new space station. I think it's just cosmetic but that's on my list. And remember, Friday night I said, "maybe a couple of weeks" and everyone poopooed me ahhahahaa. Spec is your department I leave it to you 💖
Hopefully more story content! That’s really 99% of the reason I play No Man’s Sky. When the story ends I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. But that doesn’t matter, because the story is just that damn good.

The update is out and it is called Orbital, one of the big changes apart from the new space stations, is the ability to "salvage parts to create and recolour your own custom starship." 😊😁
Also from the patch launch trailer new space combat, you can now go save your ships that you have sent on away missions when they get in trouble.
I still think the space station overhaul will be the big summer update. They typically do not do major updates this time of year, if this is the station update then it's mostly likely cosmetic with a few small features added.
While I had the same theory, I'm glad we were wrong

New star type update (Kind of similar to this Space Overhaul update):
All there has been are the usual stars like Red Giants and Yellow Dwarfs (Like our Sun) but there has been barely any variance in stars.
This new update may add in Neutron Stars that can impact your weaponry and shields along with a new Gamma Ray Burst Event. Another star that could be added in are Black Holes (not the ones that are already in the game. Those are more of 1-way wormholes) that can have worlds with plenty of riches and asteroids filled to the brim with rare metals. Another thing is that a new Solar Flare event could happen that can significantly damage your technology and shields.
Maybe something about community wishes?(Ship customization etc)I mean when you see shooting star you wish for something?

Yeah no no man’s sky 2 ain’t gonna happen sadly. If it was gonna happen that would’ve been light no fire. But nah light no fire will prolly be the majority of their development over the next few years.

Sweet stuff Jason! Can't believe how much support they've been giving No Man's Sky. Im really intrigued by Light No Fire.
If anything else, I love how they are able to keep info under wraps prior to launch. I hope this one turns out to be one of the big ones!

The Internal branch was updated 17 days ago, but not the Experimental or Public branch, so my guess is that they've been using the Internal branch to test the pending update.
I think it will come out after the Easter-weekend. The next thing I think of, are the new spacestations. Does that mean that we can build our own ships?

What about the conclusion of the 4 part story narrative about "The Abyss?" We were left on a cliff hanger back in August with the "Echos Update" and I would love to see the conclusion of it soon.
I started a new survival save that I only have a little over 100 hours on. I've been going to space stations for the modules for derelict freighters pretty much every time I play the game. i haven't noticed a slow down in frame rate there. I've got enough S class upgrades I've had to also increase the tech storage on my S class Pirate Dreadnought to install them. The pirate dreadnought is ok I guess. I don't plan on replacing any of the S class Resurgent freighters I have.
Would like for an option to recolor the modified minotaur. Finaly got to do the quests and blue is not my color.
Not much to do with "star" except that mino is my star.
The amazing amount of detail on the pirate capitol ships kind of makes me hope that somewhere along the way, they'll make some cosmetic changes to the other older ones to keep up their appeal visually in relation to that. Especially the Venator. Compared to the pirate ship, it's very plain. I didn't swap mine because I'm very partial to its more classic design aesthetics (and I've had it since the early months of the freighter update). But some trenches on either side and some additional lighting or something would be a very welcome change to help her get her sexy back.
Star Base? the one form the trailers? i would love a "refresh" of all the items in game.. or at least the space travel/combat

Need bigger starships that you walk around inside of.
Instead of getting right into the cockpit (like an X-Wing) we need ships with a room or two and you get in through an entrance (like the millennium Falcon etc.)

I just want a shipyard where we can buy or sell ships, modify existing ones or build our own ones. Even a ship management screen would be better than what we already have.
Release of Lightyear Frontier, big content update for Stardew Valley, in coming update for Palia, incoming update for NMS, This is shaping up to be a great year for gaming and it’s only the early part of the year! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

I’d honestly like it if we could customize the look of our ships. It’s weird that isn’t an option when you can customize the look of just about everything else.
Well as one of the other youtubers (Professor Cynical) found in the game files will intrigue you, They found files showing Modular parts for ships so my guess is that we will be getting Ship Customisation sometime soon possibly when they release the ship racing feature (Which there has been a starship race initiator in the game files for a bit now but it's unobtainable for now). But they need to be extremely careful with ship customisation because if they just allow you to craft any part of a spaceship and attach it to a ship that's just going to kill the whole idea of ship hunting (Even though there is a bot out there that lets you make custom ships of any colour but costs real money to use since you have to be a patreon to do it).
Here's a cool update Sean should do: he tweets like a volcano or anything disaster related and the update is about volcanos erupting. Planets ending, meteors ect.
Okay NOW we can spexulate.

3)loop... Story endgame?
4)related to 3, perhaps an option expedition leading up to Light No Fire?

Errr...Jason...April starts next week. And, as for an update...I get to have surgery on my shoulder, on Apr. 9th, and won't be able to use it for 4-6 weeks, at a minimum. So, if I have to make a prediction, I would say that a major update, and possibly even an expedition, will drop on Apr. 11th.

If I unlock the cosmetics for the autophages (like the wanderers cloak) are those cosmetics available instantly in a new playthrough? Thank you for your help!

meh, the only thing they seem to add nowadays is more expeditions. i have no friends so idc about community stuff. i want new toys to play with like more exocraft or space walking, or owning entire shipyards for frigates and stuff.

I think that there might be a new freighter, if they do add a new freighter I hope that it actually does something different like for say “Freighter massivere” that doubles your freighters size and adds some more parts and upgrades ( maybe you can use the FMV to make your other freighters bigger as well). But a downside to doubling your freighters size would probably mean you need more fuel and a bigger crew that you would need to get from the new space stations. An alternative to this would be to have a tech component (similar to the sentinel flair) were you have to do a quest LIKE A LONG QUEST to get the FMV because come on there’s always going to be that one guy who makes his pirate dreadnaught the size of your mom 💀 (just a joke don’t take that seriously) Another thing they could add in this next update would be a new kind of way to shrink you freighters in order to have multiple freighters and the extra freighters that you don’t use could act as frigates (again you would need a long quest to do this)

I read that Light No Fire shall come in 2025. There is no special date out now but I think that it is coming between summer and winter 2025.

We're gona get ship customizations and building yeah thats what it is and the space stations! Finally after all these years we'll get to build our ships however we want because they definitely want to 1 up Bethesda as the better space game yeah thats totally what they're gona do 😆. Everyone say it and it will be so!! Come on ship building! Just moving around parts that are already in game will be fine until they get a bigger and better setup for building ships thats fine, i can put wings on the ships that have those large side things and make them look way better and have a long nose or short or have true vibrant colors for everything thats customizable! Another great one if we could get it id love to be able to have everything colored true colors like jet black and crimson red! Or Everyone could have vibrant pinks or greens or blues and purples! All colors if they will just make it so!

Usually when we get an update this quickly after another big update, it's an expedition update. Which makes sense figuring they have the new launcher.
I may be wrong, but don't get your hopes up too high. It's probably going to be small.
