Hi. I just did this and it worked great! I picked up the Truetone CBAT 1 SPOT Battery Clip Converter. I did not cut the wire, but since I do not anticipate going back to battery I just connected it and folded the connections back into the box. I then used the file to make the out hole and it VIOLA! Thank you for a great idea! Great innovation!

Thanks for this. I followed your lead except I didn't solder the new connector, I just snapped it on to the 9v battery connector. I didn't have a file so I used some tin snips to cut off a corner of the metal so that they wire could fit through when the box was reassembled.

Awesome, yeah that was my original idea then I just had to improvise a bit. Take care!

Hey Jean! Love what you did with this mod - adding a dedicated female end for power while keeping the 9v battery connecter intact is exactly what I'm looking to do with my own FS-6. That being said, I'm very new to modding electronics. I figure this is a simple enough project to start with though, considering I'll only have to solder two wires onto two pads. Anyways, I digress from my point - I have a Truetone 1 spot power supply "combo pack," which has a couple of 3.5mm converters (C35) that I don't need at all. I'm planning on using one of these converters on this project, but I'm really frightened by the prospect of frying my brand new pedal by getting the polarity wrong. Would you be able to shed some light on which wires would go where when using one of these converters? Also, what should I do in terms of strain relief? Thank you much, looking forward to your response!

I done it long ago, working as i wanted, where did i get the idea about leaving the battery in,not a lightbulb moment was it.

With it being 9v already i'm surmising no changes to the board,is that correct,i'm thinking of putting a socket into the framework and using an original boss lead, will that work...cheers

I'm struggling with this idea,If your not using the battery, why not just use the leads off the battery, also if you was to leave a battery in and use mains surly you would get twice the power,??/

You wouldn’t want to do this and also run a battery, it’s for folks that don’t want to use a battery.

      Just found your video.
I was considering putting a female socket in a hole in the case and a mini Single Pole 2 throw switch to alternate from battery to power brick.

Hey sorry to hear you’re getting noise, I have had that with some of my digital pedals, running off the same power supply. You may want to try a dedicated power supply or something that offers an isolated ground.
