    I've been all over learning about the Vagus nerve for at least 6 years through books, therapy and on RUclips.
    It's helped me be more resilient and help others. I've been clinically diagnosed with PTSD .

    Thank you for this clear explanation of the role of the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic nervous system. Clear and useful. I wanted to add a note for the person who asked about tinitus. I have always experienced it. Initially, I was inquisitive. Ultimately I came to see it as a clear form of guidance. Totay, in my sixties, I find it quite soothing and I look forward to heightened awareness of it. Many times, the pitch will become noticeably higher or lower or the volume will radically shift. That always grabs my attention and signals all is well. I hope this brings comfort.

      As a child I used to have these high pitched ringing in my ears. But it sort of dissapeared when I grew up, but on some occasions it would come back again, usually after a night out dancing and I had too much to drink.
      But a few years ago once I started my spiritual journey and became more aware I noticed it came back. And since last years I noticed that I was hearing another frequency on top of the first one. I believe our hearing is more developed and we can hear more or different sounds/frequencies that others can't hear, just like animals can. Since my awakening more senses are heightened and I can feel the energy. It truly is amazing once you realize how much of our abilities that was suppressed is now awakening and getting stronger. I hope people realize that there is nothing wrong with you. Be curious and explore, just as a child would and you will find amazing things.

    • @BeWellAndDoGood
      @BeWellAndDoGood 5 лет назад +6

      Greetings Alonso, I am glad you are experiencing less anxiety and fear. I wonder if it’s the fat more so than the meat helping with this. The nervous system, especially the brain, and the endocrine system which makes hormones, both require healthy fats to function well. Would be curious if you kept the fats: avocados, oil and coconut oils etc but cut or decreased the meat if you would find you’re still less anxious and fearful. Best to you!

    I started meditating a while ago because of chronic pain linked to ptsd. I'm very aware of the metaphysical value of my body. And I felt I needed to find the link to my emotional to physical health. So when I meditated, I fixed on relaxing exactly this part of the body. From above the ball of my neck, down my spine, relaxing the other mussels as I went. Because I found this symptom, the pain at the back of my head, felt like it linked up to the rest of my body. Then...I leant about this nerves system, and not knowing so b4 hand, started working on it purley because it felt like the thing to do. Will relaxing this area from built up tension help long turm? It feels like it helps, but would be handy to know if this would eventually relax the rest of my body doing so, and it learn to fix itself apon this relaxation technique. Sorry that got hard to explain at the end there.

      Hi, you're message is from a few years ago. How are you doing now? I've been on a healing journey for many years, in and out of different kind of therapies with no real affect. It wasn't until I started meditating, journaling and especially listening about the nervous system that things started to click and changes started to happen. I realized that the body knows exactly what it needs to heal itself and I intuitively started listening to it and doing what was needed. Whatever you were doing 2 years ago, I believe it was intuitive and exactly what you needed at that moment. Perhaps you are still doing it now or have implemented more things that is beneficial to you healing journey. Lots of love to you. ❤🦋

    Breath exercise and simple meditation can cause a feeling of disconnect.
    The best way I've found is to train yourself to think fron your gut, meditate from there.

    • @christofinb
      @christofinb 4 года назад

      Devoted To Christ I got much better results once I knew (through help of an EEG device for biofeedback) that I was meditating with to much focus and it was producing if anything negative results and causing more stress and frustration, basically the feedback let me know I was trying far to hard and causing a kick back and causing my brain waves to sky rocket out of control !
      One of the ways I tried to get round this was to not focus on breathing so much, which I had always thought a bit unnatural to do anyway, so I tried to focus on my solar plexus area and almost feel from there as though your brain is in your gut, sounds crazy but it’s the best way to subscribe it, the results on the EEG were dramatic it would go up and down but when the signals came down they came down to much lower levels than before, it also naturally caused me to breath much more deeply without even trying and generally feel more in control.
      The experience also felt a more integration of body and mind, more natural more resting more empowering.
      I would highly recommend to try meditating this way it is an entirely different feeling to the way I was meditating before.
      I think modern meditations try to force things to much and push fears, emotions and feelings beyond conscious control which is far to robotic and should surely not be what meditation is all about -this might be what you had been experiencing with the jolts you’ve described (just an idea that’s all might not be that at all).
      Give it a try in the way I’ve described and let me know how you get on, will be interested in your findings.

    I had the MVD surgery on cranial nerve 5, 7, 9, and 10 for trigeminal neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, and geniculate neuralgia. I had many triggers for excruciating pain before surgery..., laughing, crying, chewing, swallowing, brushing and flossing my teeth, talking, singing, and more. My pain has decreased significantly since surgery. I still avoid singing because it causes a burn in my throat that spreads to the neuralgia side of my head. I tried the chanting/humming you demonstrated and it causes the same pain as singing. Will this go away with time? Or is it permanent from damage to the nerve caused by blood vessels?

      - I did a video on it, if interested see my channel and search migraine. Also, I discovered that by expressing (burping) trapped gas in my upper abdomen, I could pre-empt the oncoming migraines, which a naturopath friend suggested might have been to do with the vagus nerve being compressed somehow.
      - I watched a doctors' conference speaker in RUclips video, 'Concepts of Pain' saying that pain is best regarded as the brain perceiving 'disorder' rather than damage.
      - He said the brain is a bit of a 'control freak'. For example, 2/3 of lumbar pain is not measurable in the pain centre, and much of it is relieved simply by repeated stooping that 'reboots' the path between the back and the brain.
      - My successful experiment with coldness was triggered by musings that cold numbed my hands, so why not my head (knowing that all head pain was in the surface, via the trigeminal nerve). Also I'd heard of Russian surgery that used cold as the anaesthetic. It made sense that chilling a nerve would numb all sensation.
      - In 2012 when cycling, I was hit by a car, breaking both tibia and fibula bones, very painful for three months of recovery. I watched vids on pain, learned good things. One treating doc told me that, once excited, the pain centre of the brain becomes over-sensitive to pain. So they start off with a real wallop of painkiller to calm it down, then they reduce the dose.
      - I hope you discover relief from the dreadful pain you experience. It's all a bit like a lock you have to find the key for. One day you may clear it foreer all in a few minutes, remember that. I would never have believed I would be free of my migraines, but now am completely clear of them.
      - If useful, I'm willing to Skype.

      So glad to hear your MVD worked. I have neuralgia and dysfunction from 5, 7 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. On right side due to car accident. So I also have dizziness and speech problems. I lost the hearing and Had the rest of 8 destroyed early on. Been advised MVD c.f. you'd make things worse so I just try everything. .

      I'm very sorry for your pain and for the hardship its caused you. Have you ever thought of looking into whether or not ankyloglossie is part of your situation? When the tongue and or lip frenum is very tight, it can be the cause or an exacerbation of all of the things you've described. Its commonly known as "tongue tie" but affects the upper lip too and in fact can be simply the tip of the iceberg of tension on the whole of the midline (the line that is formed when the first cell becomes two at conception, will become the future mediane line, from the pubis to the anus). Release of a tight frenum (laster is best) can provide a lot of relief in all things that touch the mediane line. Just an idea.

      I believe a drop of olive oil a day, will help with your ears and possibly eating gum.

      Oops, forget the gum it's too much stimulation, thought it would wear out mastoids.
