- A very very rare track from the 1982 movie "Creepshow".Based on the Stephen King Novella this sequence is taken from the part of the first section of the movie entitled "Fathers Day".Here American actor Ed Harris struts his stuff to a fantastic disco song in the mansion.It's a short scene but a classic one at that.This song has been a rarity for as long as i can remember and is just about resurfacing as i speak.It is from the "DeWolfe" library and was cut especially for the movie from a recording made in the disco era.The song in itself captures the disco scene and if any of you havn't seen Creepshow movie..it's well worth a look see just for the Ed Harris Disco dancing!!

Hi, I wrote the song "Don't Let Go" with my writing partner Chris Rae. We wrote a lot of library music in the 70s for a publisher named De Wolfe Music Limited. All tracks where instrumental but one session we did a few songs with a Disco feel. They where never released to the general public until one day I watched the movie Creepshow and up came the song. It was a surprise to me because I had forgotten all about the song, the singer was Gillian Gerardo. (I think it was anyway it was a long time ago). A few years back I watched a film called “Last Chance Harvey” with Dustin Hoffman, and this song was playing in the background of a wedding reception. I immediately recognized it from Creepshow since that’s the only place I had ever heard it. Kind of catchy….. probably would’ve been a chart topper if it had been released as a full single.

This is a cool song. Rare disco beat. I am inspired by this movie , especially this segment "Father's Day" I built the Father's Day house out of legos and included this song in the video. It is actually a real house located in the wealthy Pittsburgh area of Fox Chapel and is over 15,000 sq ft and sits on 32 acres at the edge of Squaw Run Rd E. Very cool mansion it is.

I wish I could have been around when this kind of music was taken seriously.
If it makes you feel any better, disco never really was taken seriously by the mainstream population. Its hay-day was short lived, and by the early 80’s (when the movie Creepshow was released) it was already fading in popularity big time. I guess that’s part of the comic appeal of this movie. There was a huge backlash against disco in the 80’s. I’m not knocking the music. As someone who lived through it, I’m just explaining what happened. Even when disco was popular, many people were “closeted” fans of the music.
By the point the movie was released, it was already considered dated. I think that was the joke, since this story takes place in 1979 and not 1982 when it was released. It's also kind of a creepy juxtaposition, this being so cheesy and upbeat followed by such horrifying events.

I like old horror movies, you know, the 80's, but this is a bad and boring movie. Besides, I am 28 years.
I saw this when I was 7 and the Ted Danson "zombie" chapter gave me nightmares for a long time.
