I grew up watching the cocaine-inducted promos of Hogan, Savage, Warrior, etc. where wrestlers just shouted for 30 seconds. And while I have some nostalgia for those, I'd much rather hear a promo where there's actually a message conveyed. Not simply "I'M COMING FOR YOU! RAAARRR!"

Thanks for this upload of Bret’s interview. I’ve heard bits of it but haven’t heard as much of it like I did today. I believe that the name Bret Hart is synonymous with the word legend. I remember his heel turn just around WM 13. My friend and I traveled from NY to Chicago for the event. I remember after the event, we saw Bret. I shook his hand and thanked him for the great match. Bret squeezed my hand-mind you, he had quite a strong handshake!-and he looked in my eyes almost in a pleading way. I was wondering if he was trying to tell me something yet he couldn’t. When I saw his official heel turn the following night on Raw, I thought, “I think that was what he was trying to tell me but he couldn’t.” It didn’t stop me from being a fan of Bret because somehow I had a feeling that he was taking orders from Vince. Bret has given me very priceless memories and I remain grateful to him for being who he is. He was truly a professional in the ring and he took what he did very seriously. Bret’s logic for the iron man match makes total sense especially for a heel. He’s saying he had to pace himself similar to a boxing match so that if he gets pinfalls/knockouts as soon as possible he hasn’t emptied the tank for when he’ll still need energy to defend himself or go on the attack later in the hour
Where as if it was a 60 min time limit match he could just go in as normal and when he exerts all his energy for the finish he’d do just that and finish the match. One second you say you understand he’s working heel then the next you don’t and even with being heel out of the equation it still makes since if you watch any combat sports like mma or boxing.
Not using all your energy is the first thing they teach you which is why most long bouts start off slow with a bunch of feeling out rds to ensure they can still have energy to keep their hands up and defend themselves till the end.
Your logic don’t make sense not Brets wether what he said was true or not or how he really felt or not you big Jabroni.

Im 33. Raised in Flair country. Saying that a majority of Americans are "nob heads," is putting it mildly- and an understatement.
Nearly everything George Carlin said about Americans is true for about 9 out of 10 of us. Education, healthcare, poverty, homelessness, respect for each other, etc.- we suck at all of it.

@@magdabrownis265 Well, I don't want to go into a history lesson here, but to the best of my memory: the historical consensus is that it was unnecessary and contributed little to ending war in the Pacific, although it undoubtedly sped up the process and saved many lives. Japan was already on the verge of surrender and was far more concerned with avoiding a Soviet invasion from Manchuria. In Europe, the USSR essentially carried the war-which isn't to say they did it alone, obviously.
History is a lot more complex and nuanced than the way it was taught to us (Americans at any rate) in school.

2 years or so later it dawned on 8 year Mez just how awesome Bret Hart was. To watch him grow from a tag champion, to an INCREDIBLE IC champion, and by 1992, just s few years since Mania 6, Bret won his first world title from , of all people, Ric Flair !
