Even though it's more early LIndy than Charleston, it's blended and fabulous!!!!!! God I wish I could still do that : ) The dancers are having such a good time. I'm jealous....... Sharon Davis is a knockout dancer.
In my opinion, you were born in the right generation. You have the opportunity to learn some lindy hop, the charleston, the swing, all the great dances! Go ahead and learn some, I think you're going to have a blast!
Why do people keep saying they wish there was still dancing like this done? The video is from 2011 clearly it's still around there are swing dancing/lindy hop and all variation that came with it available all over the world just good your area there is probable a group and if not start one no to mention through this hip hop grow and that is done in clubs grinding is done mostly by people who can't dance so if you want less grinding then teach people to dance and encourage it and dance I. Local clubs that's what I do
This is Jo Hoffberg. The blonde with the pink flower is Sharon Davis. You can youtube their names and see them dance together. They are both awesome. Sharon is also a famous burlesque dancer!
You can do it now. There's nothing stopping you. There are plenty of people who do it, solely for fun. Most of the people in this video aren't even professionals.
If only the kids of today could see how Lindy hop has influenced Hiphop and dances that they do. I'm sure there would be a hell of a lot more respect going around and less ignorance.
This kind of music is what makes you want to dance, and not dance by having a girl grind her ass against your dick like todays music in clubs, but actually dancing. I wish I was there when this was popular, girls even dressed classy.
if you no anything about the dance "jerking" you can't tell me that doesn't look like lindy. im 16 showed my brother some charleston he's like "that looks like jerking"
She may be good any other time but she was a fish out of water on this particular day. She stumbled over her feet and she was searching for what to do next. It wasn’t a good look
Sorry folks, this is more like 30's Lindy Hop music and the dance moves that went with it. Come on! If you call it "Charleston Finals", let see the Charleston; i.e., what my grandparents born between 1899 and 1907 would have been doing in the mid to late 1920s, or WHY CALL IT "the Charleston" AT ALL? I'm a musician who fell in love with music listen to my granddad's Roaring 20's records. Another criticism: Most of the music in this video sucked for air.
Now Jonathan, I have a soul but might be ignorant of 30's style Charleston style, but 30's Charleston I don't know. The lady is red at first; now that was The Charleston.
jeff Craven Charleston is a very, very broad category of dance spanning several decades. This is all Charleston. Actually, a lot of Lindy Hop and solo jazz is derivative of the original Charleston dances (and some other dances). What you're talking about is probably the earliest more vanilla form of Charleston.
aswiftkickinthejunk You hit the nail on the head. The Charleston 1922-28 were my favorite years. Now as the years advance, combined with "art dance", these dancers remind me of a commercial for Double Mint gum from the 1990's.
fabulous, but its a pity that the detractor had to make the sexist comment, what a small mind, really....you see the same at the beach, a strip of cloth.....big deal, you are obviously not a dancer......these kids are all winners in my eyes
One can't not to like it, amazing and thanks for sharing.
this is hella dope! I m obsessed with this dance! I wanna learn!
I'm glad I live in Alexandria. Now, to find this place
Even though it's more early LIndy than Charleston, it's blended and fabulous!!!!!! God I wish I could still do that : ) The dancers are having such a good time. I'm jealous.......
Sharon Davis is a knockout dancer.
watched again and again, another world, another people. I love enthusiastic people.
In my opinion, you were born in the right generation. You have the opportunity to learn some lindy hop, the charleston, the swing, all the great dances! Go ahead and learn some, I think you're going to have a blast!

princesses want to have fun
I wish very much to go back in time to the Lindy hop my sister taught me in 1950.
The best and most fun dance of the ages.
I.... LOOOOOVE THIS! I miss all this -- the 90s we were ALL swinging and lindying and such.
Freakin amazing! Hats off to you all!!
Looks like a whole lot of great FUN!!!!!!!💃🕺
Amazing dancers!
This is amazing.
Me fascina esté vídeo..grandes bailarines del charleston 👏👏👏
This is too cool for words!
Да, блондинка просто шикарна !!! Я восхищён её искусством. Браво !!!
I think that is Sharon Davis.
they're all great dancers!!!!!!!
Holy balls, these people are great! (At least to a noob like me) Fun to dance along to and has given me lots of ideas/inspiration! :D
NOTHING BETTER THAN THIS!
Супер, а прошло 10 лет
Me encanto son buenisimos!!!!!!!!
son asombrosos !
veselo, veselo zagorci. nice
Bravo!
Only Miss Sharon Davis kicks ass.
I have to learn this.
The lady in the blue dress looks like she's stepped right out of a time machine, she's lovely!
that's a good way to look at it. n_n
in many ways i totaly agree.
this dance, I like it, TEACH ME!!
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
The girl in the black dress seriously kicked some ass.
The winner was Olivier Chort, the first man out of the gate (tall, with a suit)
The trombone is top-notch
Oh, yeeeeaaahh....
Sharon Davis Ooh-La-la!!! To me she is best!
1:45 lol And the blonde girl with the pink flower - love it!
Thats Sharon Davis
im loving the blonde girl, her dance style is the most unique
Мне с бантом красным понравилась - хорошо пляшет, с задоринкой)))!
So proud of the ladies! But I'm surprised Nathan didn't place...
Oh, how I need to be young and buzzing in the 1920's! Not young and typing in the 2010's
Cruel, cruel faith.
I'm not a Lindy Hop/Charleston dancer but 4:32-5:05 is AWESOME!
Who IS that?
This is Jo Hoffberg. The blonde with the pink flower is Sharon Davis. You can youtube their names and see them dance together. They are both awesome. Sharon is also a famous burlesque dancer!
Kimberly Corcoran
Thanks! :)
Shit is RAW.
You can do it now. There's nothing stopping you. There are plenty of people who do it, solely for fun. Most of the people in this video aren't even professionals.
this is how i want to dance.
This was in 2011.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Jo Hoffberg
Make it the right generation.
yeah =) does the move have a name, anybody?
I love the Charleston but I'm at loss because I don't know how to do it can anyone help.
Don't fret, though kids may not, I assure you hip hop does acknowledge it's roots from swing.
I want me a sweet smilin', Charlston dancin' man
Who cares about generations. Let's all Charleston and make the 2010's great!
tell me more about how that isn't in modern dancing/music.
If only the kids of today could see how Lindy hop has influenced Hiphop and dances that they do. I'm sure there would be a hell of a lot more respect going around and less ignorance.
yep oliver fab in this ,, but who is the girl in black with the grebo look she is just the best
get it #15.. did he win?
number 23 is the best in terms of spirit and moves
This kind of music is what makes you want to dance, and not dance by having a girl grind her ass against your dick like todays music in clubs, but actually dancing. I wish I was there when this was popular, girls even dressed classy.
Finally one thing asains aren't the best at 0_0
I think they misread the comment.
1:34 that man actually flew..
hahahahaha...sometimes I think the same
You got one problem though dude. Lindy Hop was born in the 20s. Hiphop wasn't born until the 80s. Which do you think came first?
if you no anything about the dance "jerking" you can't tell me that doesn't look like lindy. im 16 showed my brother some charleston he's like "that looks like jerking"
I like 15
she looks like shoron from Australia
I think it's funny how all these women are wearing low shoes, back then they danced with high heels.
You and me both random internet person!
el mejor de todos es el num. 23 !!!!!
You better tie your shoe pretty tight if you wanna dance like that ;D
it's I Found A New Baby
XD
What's up with the second chick? She had no business up there.
Disagree. Gaby Cook is a fantastic dancer and brings her own moves to the competition.
She may be good any other time but she was a fish out of water on this particular day. She stumbled over her feet and she was searching for what to do next. It wasn’t a good look
so was I.. do you want to be my dance partner?
Interesting. I don't think any of those people were born in the 1920s.
A little over-excited audience, but great show
who said dancing was dead :D

jeff Craven You know, there's such a thing as 30's Charleston, right?
jeff Craven Also, you have no soul
Now Jonathan, I have a soul but might be ignorant of 30's style Charleston style, but 30's Charleston I don't know. The lady is red at first; now that was The Charleston.

It's called style. I think the kids call it "swag" now a days.
all these dances originated in africa
i was born in the wrong generation
Classier than you, that's for sure.
fabulous, but its a pity that the detractor had to make the sexist comment, what a small mind, really....you see the same at the beach, a strip of cloth.....big deal, you are obviously not a dancer......these kids are all winners in my eyes
Can't be bothered with you.
