    Okay I’ve been eye-balling Sonlight for over a year now, but the price just kills me. We’re currently using TGTB for core Lang Arts and then Notgrass History. But this curriculum package is 😍 I seriously thought about switching to Sonlight for my upcoming 9th grader, but he wants to stick with Notgrass.

      Haha, I think I eye-balled Sonlight for 2 years before taking the plunge! But, I also have bought Sonlight used in the past as well and that helps significantly with the cost!!

      What I've thought about doing is just buying the instructors guide and then just getting all the books via Abebooks or Thrift Books. It would take a little time, but would save you hundreds.

    I just subscribed and found you. I just want to say your reviews are thorough, relevant, and calm and your approach is so refreshing. It's everything a busy homeschool mama needs. I don't need all the thrills and bells and whistles. Your videos are such a reassurance especially since I've been searching for great science for elementary years for my 3.

    Fever 1793 is amazing. My students love it. I love how it’s on such a low reading level but still about a 14 year old, so my freshmen can relate since they’re around that age and are COVID kids.

    It’s box day here too! We had a field trip this morning and my daughter came home exhausted so she is resting. Meanwhile I’m chomping at the bit to dig into the box, but I know she would be upset if I did it without her. So I watched your video to help hold me over. And yes, I can’t wait to assemble binders. It is so satisfying. It looks like you have another great year of fabulous literature ahead of you. Thank you for sharing.

    Hey! I have been enjoying your Sonlight videos as I've been eyeballing their curriculum for my 1st grader next year. I have seen a few people say that Sonlight doesn't allow for mastery of concepts. How do you feel about that? Do you feel like your kids are really understanding the history/science? Thank you!

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  4 месяца назад +3

      I feel like sometimes yes and sometimes no ... but I think that is more a factor of their ages than the curriculum. Some parts of history and science are just not as interesting :) But, I might be the wrong person to ask because I don't really look for mastery at these ages ... I will as we get more into middle school and high school. Hope that helps!

    Boxes of booooooks 🎉🎉🎉
    I've seen other families that put colored dot stickers on the spine labels to differentiate subjects, and I'm trying to wrap my mind around whether this would be helpful or not! Do you do this? Thanks!

    • @AtmosphereDisciplineLife
      @AtmosphereDisciplineLife 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@sciencemama Yes, the Sonlight book labels seem very helpful! It looks like some families add an additional label depending on the subject- a specific colored dot for science, a different one for readers... I'm just wondering if I should be prepared to do that, too!
