Wally had all the best lines. He just wanted peace and quiet, with the occasional few pints thrown in. I love how it never bothered him Compo was in love with Nora, seeing it as a possible escape route in the future
Brilliant‼️ My favourite Wally Moment, was......... Foggy or Compo, asked ~ What does Nora look for in a man, Wally? Wally............... Total submission.
Robert Woolford Wally (stroking a whippet): Aw he’s lovely! Can I keep him? Nora: No you can not keep it!!! Anyway it’s probably wild! Wally: Well it’s friendlier than you are!!
One of my favourite scenes with Wally is when Compo asked him " what would you do if some man attacked Nora"? - he replied "I couldn't do nothin - she'd 'ave mauled 'im to death afore I could 'elp 'im". Hilarious!
@@brucemaclennan9879 I do, too!! And in the Nora's feet episode, I love how he thinks the three are talking about his prize racing pigeon, not Nora. They're just so stunned!! Mostly bc it takes Foggy three minutes with 15caveats to get to his point!!
Thank you for this😊 I thought Wally was just a scream. My favorite was when he was trying to see how big Nora’s feet were and she accusingly asked if he had been reading funny books. He might have been supposed to be a straight man character, but I thought he was just a scream. Loved Joe Gladwin❤️
I liked him a lot . Since i am a foreigner and use RUclips a lot to learn the English language . This series has opened the door to this complicated way of speaking based on its colorful background. I my self am now in the age of Last of the Summer Wine characters and find it easy to agree with all of them Thank you my friends.
The trouble is kristina that throughout the UK it's the accents more than difference in words to confuse you, although a lot are based on the original Old English which is almost another language , the trouble is that combined with the local dialect it must be a nightmare to learn ,and so I can under stand how hard it must be for you ,as I've been trying to learn Old English / Anglo Saxon .
The early episodes with Compo, Cleggy, Foggy, Wally and Sid were the best, great characters and an England sadly gone and soon with this and next generation LOTSW will be forgotten by the majority of them and replaced by Love Island and Katy Price and Gemma Collins alike. Stop the world, I wanna get off.
My favorite moment with Wally was when Foggy, Cleggy, & Compo were in the Beatty’s living room trying to tell Wally something. One of the guys asked if Nora was listening and Wally replies with, “she’s ALWAYS listening.” Then Nora busted through the door with her push brush yelling, “that’s a lie!” Lol 😂 she got caught earwigging at the door
And Peter was underrated as well. I was impressed that there was a home for aging comedic actors in London, I believe...so nice because Peter had to laugh his final days because he was at that home with Andrew Sachs, Manuel from Fawlty Towers. 😊
My local PBS station showed two episodes a night at 11pm for a long time. Call your public TV and ask for it!! They changed their programs, took Summer Wine OFF and I haven't donated since!! Still, they do make local programming decisions. You sure might push the station to get it!!

I love that one, too.
@@drdoloresmize5386 I also adore where Wally said to Nora “Why don’t yer sit down ‘an ‘ave a rest Nora - yer‘ve been on yer mouth all day”.

I'm not sure, I think Nora was a glimpse into the future of gender dysphoria :0)

Peter Sallis really thought he was an excellent actor, underrated. I agree!
