My Dad was in Belfast and I was in Dorset but every Sunday night we would watch last of the summer wine. Then he would ring me and we would have a good laugh at what the gang had been up to. The show certainly helped with the awful homesickness . When I went home for a holiday it was wonderful to hear Daddy play the theme tune on the flute. Every time I hear the tune it reminds me of Daddy. Precious Memories
No you would.not like it as its become very commercialised now. Nora Betty's house is now a B+B which costs more than a hotel. Compo and cleggs graves are lovely side by side.

I'd Visit bit I don't want to get a Sweeping Brush in My face!, although things are much worse nowadays because the Missus chases Me with an Hefty Vacuum Cleaner!.

It was a big favourite in Ireland down through the years, great characters, my own mother Ironically was Nora as well, passed away in 2000 age 55.
Miss Nora and compo but my husband and I still watch it nowadays foggy was brilliant too so comical comical they all was brilliant actors 😊😊

Nora was always my favourite woman from Last of The Summer Wine, I loved her reactions to Compo always harassing her.
I must admit i was 16 year old when this first came on tv and i hated it but looking back i can understand now why it was so popular.
