I’ve been running a night sorcerer build, using 2x staff of loss for double the bonus to invisibility sorceries, then mainly damaging with fully charged night comets, with max casting speed and 3 dmg buffing talismans. Easily doing around 4K per shot on average
For trash enemies, I highly, highly recommend using the Glintstone Kris. The AoW on it is more efficient than any Sorcery you can actually cast, and it does tons of damage from nearly the same distance as Loretta's Greatbow. It also gets buffed by so many talismans too. Another extremely good item to have is a Clayman's Harpoon with the Ice Spear AoW. Ice Spear does absolutely insane poise damage with the projectile, but even more on top of that at melee range because you get a hit with the startup animation too. It only takes a few hits from the projectile to build up frostbite too, and it seems to do it much faster than Glintsone Icecrag. Glintstone Nails (Nails, not the garbage Nail) is for stance breaking. It seems to take as many casts as Rock Sling, but it's easier to hit with all of the projectiles. Lastly, Lusat's staff is still as overrated as it always was. It's terribly inefficient. It doesn't have a passive bonus on top of the shown scaling, it's just very poor wording. The increase in Sorcery damage is already baked into the scaling, that's all, yet spells still cost 50% more FP. NOT WORTH IT. Carian Regal Scepter is still the best general staff at 70+ INT and the other staves should be used for their passive bonuses...which Lusat's does not get. Your upgrade path should be Meteorite (at the very start) > Carian Regal. At 70 INT, Lusat's has 364 scaling (and costs 50% more) while Carian Regal has 330 scaling.
@@Piper0185 150 is really just for PvP anymore. For PvE most are going towards 200. But for 150 I would go with: VIG: 59 (*60) MIND: 20 (*X) END: 25 (*X) STR: 16 (*X) DEX: 13 (*X) INT: 80 FTH: 9 (*10) ARC: 7 The reason the spread looks like this is because I don't know what other gear you might want ot use, such as a Brass Shield, or DMGS. The *X is just a different number, but it requires you raising or lowering other stats. FTH in particular is good to take to 10 so you can use low requirement Incantations, but 12 is even better for stuff like Bestial Vitality and Flame Cleanse Me. Vagabond is also the class to start with. It has the best stat spread to meet the above at only 150 and the gear it starts with will make the early game A LOT easier.
First Glinstone Kris weapon skill is the same as Glinstone Comet Shard just with little less fp consumption. Lusat Staff is the best for pure int builds and you can easily cut down the extra fp to half with a Primal Glinstone Blade. Your problem is that you didn't leveled int to it's hard cap which is 80 and on 80 int Lusat has 413 scaling, while Regal Scepter has 373. Don't give bad advices to new players. Also Glinstone Nail is the new Glinstone Pebble but with better dmg and better tracking, which you can buff futher with Maternal Staff in off hand( 15%) and Finger Robes(8%) and it can be charged.
@@jacobbrackett3568Glinstone Icecrag is one of the most cost effective spells in the game and it procs frost realy fast. You can also use Snow Witch Hat to boost it's dmg, but I respect your opinion. I personaly love it and it's one of mine go to projectile spells.
Man I really appreciate all your builds. When you stopped making builds I stopped playing Elden ring. I’m glad you’re able to come back to it, and I noticed you make BG3 builds , I’ll definitely be looking at those as well. I can’t wait to try this build out now, was literally running around with your spellblade build and having a blast!!
Have you not ever tried making your own builds man? I’m not saying it’s wrong to use other peoples builds because I do that all the time as well when I find a cool one like this one but it’s also incredibly fun to create your own
@@cmdrravenwulff5272 no. But when someone who I like to watch makes a good build I can’t help but want to get on the game to try the build out that hes displaying , I’m pretty sure he wasn’t making end game builds since day one. So yes I can play the game without someone telling me how. I was just letting the creator know that he’s build help me getting more inspired to play the game.
I used him on my first play through. NG+ I used a lighting build, and it was far better. When you use the Bolt of Gransax, it is so powerful. The best part is that you can lock on from a super far distance and still hit an enemy.
I didn't notice it being mentioned in the video, but I run a build very similar to this and I'm loving Divine Beast Frost Stomp with my mage as well, so much so It's often my go to for clearing large packs when just out adventuring. Damage is crazy and comes out super fast, or you can charge it for a bit slower release but it hits like a truck in a huge area. Truly fun ash of war.
I never commented before on your video but i never see a better content creator then you. I watch all your BG3 build regardless. All i want to say is keep the good work.
Man, I didn't know blood sucking tear lasted whole 3 minutes. Anyway I was thinking about making int/faith build using new staff added in the dlc maybe you want to try as well?
It's not really that good anymore. The tracking on it is terrible, and while it's still actually fairly decent against larger enemies at closer range, on my current playthrough I found the Glintstone Kris the actual "carry" spell. It's more efficient than any Sorcery that you can actually cast, has an absurd range and gets boosted by many different talismans and armor sets. Before you can actually reach that point (it's a reward for the end of Sellen's quest), Ice Spear is hands down the best "spell" you can cast. Frost projectile that does TONS of stance damage. It's actually far better than Rock Sling for this, while having just a slightly shorter range, plus it builds up frostbite quickly. Against button reading BS enemies it also can work similarly to Night Comet. Because Ice Spear has two animations (the first adds even more stance damage at melee range), enemies tend to dodge the windup and not the actual projectile itself.
One Spell I like using that has some good distance is Anchient Death Rancor.. I Spam that ALOT!!!!! But my Spellcaster build IS a Int/Faith so I can have a Heal and Golden Vow as Needed.. And I WILL say if you do an Int/Faith Build, I have seen the Lusat staff does Less damage then the Prince of Death Staff.. So My Build Goes 80 to Int and Faith to cap them, and I build for a while so I put Vig/Mind/End all to 60 for their cap, And as you go Higher get Dex to 70 For Casting Cap to make spamming Faster..
The staff with highest potential for damage is the prince of death one, but it scales with int and faith mainly, plus strenght as a secondary great stat to level up, and you're not showing up a really hybrid build. Having lusat's on the free hand nets you the damage buff though, so using both should do great for damage. Not so great for sp consumption as lusat's staff has it's penalty, yeah?
Sure, but if you're leaning into Impenetrable thorns, it's worth considering the Maternal staff with Int/Arcane instead. It has the same scaling as Lusat when the stats are equal. At 99 Int/Arc it has 430 vs the PoD at 448, only a 2% difference, while also having arcane scaling for blood loss.
@cRPGBro First of all thank you so much for all the awesome video content! Glad to see you've picked up Elden Ring again for the DLC. Second: Any suggestions for players who like to combine INT Mage with FAITH casters? I'm halfway through the DLC at lvl 250 at NG+ and I've got access to pretty much every INT/FAITH spell. Currently studying both your faith build video and this one, maybe a dual caster build video :P?
I appreciate this video. So much informative. But I can't agree with that endure + close range magic strategy such as zamor storm and rock blaster. If you go NG+7, then you will know why.
That can be true, but it's more due to the extreme challenge nature of NG+7. Sadly enemies get a very very big boost to damage so might as well either dodge or go Shields 😅

Around 40 Mind is a nice stopping point. You can even go 99 INT, it's diminishing returns but does increase damage slightly, and you have the points to spare. Endurance only if you want faster than Medium Rolling, but with Endure Ash of War it's not really needed.
Love the guide but i do wish you had covered where to find each item and spell (especially the new ones) because im lazy. It just means ill have to go through the wiki and make a shopping list 😂
99 INT since you have the points to spare. 99 FTH as well and use Prince of Death Staff since it has the highest scaling with both 99 INT/FTH. 99 VIG 99 MND because well... you have the points for it and at least it means almost never having to use FP flasks, but usually ~40-50 is enough for lower levels. STR, DEX, ARC aren't really necessary beyond stat requirements for gear/spells. You can put the rest into END for heavier armor & more stamina which gets drained on some spells.
Most Ppl seems to have tried to push it up from 150 to 200 because of some stats reqs in some new gear items and spells. Base endurance is bad at 9 and such for PvP and invading as stamina is rolling and sprinting consume it. Also enables more dodging and rolling vs bosses. A good invader is just going to roll through some stuff or outright dodge it. And if they are out of stamina, it’s gg.
@cRPGBro it has the same cast time as impenetrable thorns. Just more balanced. Impenetrable thorns is way to broken and needs to be nerfed to the ground it carries everyone
I’m tired if people saying the spell is broken. You need all 3 thorns to hit for the big “broken” damage which only works at point blank range or on big bosses and even then you’re in range for their attacks. And also for the huge 20k+ damage you need to be wearing full Alberich’s plus rakshasha’s pants, double sorc masses, magic scorp talisman and bleed talisman. You are not tanky and need to upclose and enemies moving towards you can either leap over and walk over the thorns. And in PvP it only works if ur a phantom, try invading with a thorns setup and ur not casting the spell and if you do prepare to watch them jump hurdles to get to you. You can see people all the time running thorns and struggling because it’s not that broken.
@MidraLOFF I'm not reading all that. It is completely broken😅 doesn't take any skill. But let's stop it there. Use what u want have your opinion we don't have to argue.
@@Amarok457 If it’s broken then sacred oath, flame give me strength, alderichs set, rakshasha’s set are all broken. Try using the spell without this setup against a bleed immune enemy ur not getting anywhere. People will call for individual nerfs like this and wonder “Why are bleed builds still so strong” the root of the problem is the 20% health damage, not the spell. Be fucking for real
Well, if you're going with a Mage, then Impenetrable Thorns is definitely the easiest way! Otherwise my Dual Wield DEX Build does it pretty easily as well: ruclips.net/video/qv1hnuqahfk/видео.html
This might actually make me play the game. After seeing videos I see most people conform to the basic souls playstyle dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge, hit, dodge... etc. Which is super boring.
Terra magica is trash. You miss one of the most powerful spells. The black spell with many skulls, called something with Rankor. Spam this one and you do mostly a good job.
Sorcery builds are worthless in Elden Ring, especially SOTE. trash mobs 1 shot you and pretty much stun-lock you out of casting spells. doesn't matter what the potential damage of the spell is, its 0 for most enemies since you can't cast
I mean, I have an All Hit Run vs the final boss of the DLC and many others like Commander Gaius & Messmer + Rellana here using just Ice Storm with Ranni Set/Robes: ruclips.net/video/uRrDqxTukNg/видео.html
Arcane bleed build mage is one of the single best builds & I’ve walked through the dlc so mages clearly aren’t worthless… sounds like you just suck at putting a mage build together 😂
Glintstone Kris requires only 12 dex 5 str so every sorc should have one. It does full charged 3000+ damage with around 60-80 INT and only cost 10 fp, it outclasses even the new glintstone nail in efficiency and is the best way for a mage to deal with trash at range. You one shot messmer soldiers and can easily dispatch black knights with ranni’s dark moon + Glindtone kris AoW. Mages are definitely viable, and for bosses you just use thorns, you can 1st phase kill Bayle and others with thorns setup. You can easily kill Midra with Ranni’s moon + frost + thorns easily. And Radahn you just needa know his moveset and when to cast the spell.

99 INT since you have the points to spare.
99 FTH as well and use Prince of Death Staff since it has the highest scaling with both 99 INT/FTH.
99 VIG
99 MND because well... you have the points for it and at least it means almost never having to use FP flasks, but usually ~40-50 is enough for lower levels.
STR, DEX, ARC aren't really necessary beyond stat requirements for gear/spells.

Are you using Endure and also properly casting Damage Negation buffs before entering the boss room?
Same for Holy Ground.
As a mage why am I weak when summoned
You left out a lot of new spells, including the putrescence ones.
Sadly I found them quite disappointing comapared to other spells.
What if you don’t have the dlc
Thorns is like vanilla swarm but more broken, we all know it will get nerfed.. rip thorns
BRO were in 2024, this dude right here is in the fucking 2077.
is there still plenty of pvp at 160? why are people so fixated on 150
There’s plenty at 200 too, and many hybrid builds benefit from going that high.
And if they are out of stamina, it’s gg.
so putting more then 80 in intelligent makes no difference? dam it 😅
It still adds spell damage, just very little!
But you can still increase it to 99 if you have the points to spare.

I can't beat radahn T_T
Well, if you're going with a Mage, then Impenetrable Thorns is definitely the easiest way!
Otherwise my Dual Wield DEX Build does it pretty easily as well: ruclips.net/video/qv1hnuqahfk/видео.html
Impenetrable thorns is the only way I was able to defeat him lol
indeed 4 tapped him with my own thorn build shout out to pope dog for helping me build it since greyroll is gone 😂
This might actually make me play the game. After seeing videos I see most people conform to the basic souls playstyle dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge, hit, dodge... etc. Which is super boring.
It's definitely a very smooth playstyle!
Second! 🎉
Improved Initiative!
Terra magica is trash.
You miss one of the most powerful spells.
The black spell with many skulls, called something with Rankor.
Spam this one and you do mostly a good job.
Of course the best spell is a faith ability.. not int
I could not beat Radan with this build seems overrated
They nerfed it today
What?
U don't even charge those spells lol
You definitely do Zamor Ice Storm, same for Night Comet.
back to pathfinder, Elden ring just need shield build and Faith heuehuehe
Yeah its nerfed now what 😂
No it isn’t..?
First !
Mythic Initiative!
Horrible dlc
No mention of rock sling, which is a cheap spell that can carry you through out the whole game. Combine with arrows reach for increased range.
I ended up removing the section about it as I felt the guide was long enough as is, but yes, it's really reliable for early & mid game!
