@densonbakerACS
If you are still asking.... the guys that did these ad's were
Graham Bond (Aunty Jack himself!) and Rory O'Donahue who played Thin Arthur from the Aunty Jack Show. They wrote a few other jingles like the 'kimbies' nappy ad and Graham Bond featured in a TV comedy series called "News Free Zone" (1985) where he played several different characters, most remembered as Rick Veneer and Kev Kavanagh! EH EH...You really had to be there.........hilarious!
thanks for putting up these ads. finally i can prove that i'm not insane every time i break into song...
@scottcongdon I remember it in the late 70's early 80's. it was part of a complete campaign run by channel 9 Perth. they were great. they stopped them in the mid 80's and brought them back in the late 80's and again in the mid to late 90's. My kids loved these ads as I did.
yes these are from the 80s and then they replayed it during the late 90s when I was in primary school. I remember watching these ads when I watched 'Y?' and 'Now You See It'
My wife grew up in NSW so had naturally never seen all these ads, but I agree with her: These could really help kids (and parents) today if they brought them back nationally. Love these :)
yes 80's and early 90's... they should still play them, the message they bring is invaluable.
i used to laugh my ass off at the head pat near the end lol
I LOVE this ad!! Have been chasing it for YEARS!!!
I love the last bit.
When mum gets a savage pat on the head, her angry face cracks me up so much hahahahahhahahaahhaha
In the late 70s/early 80s this series of ads aired on constant rotation in regional Victoria on the TV8 (now Southern Cross Ten) and Channel 6 (now WIN) networks.
I was born in South East South Australia in 1982 and was exposed to them until they were taken off of TV in the mid 90s. Memorable stuff. Has a kind of class if you ask me 😎
wow this takes me back
Thanks for posting these great commercials - they should put them back on TV for my kids to grow up on!
im 16 and i remember this being on tv.
they gotta bring it back to our tv,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I still think of this everyone says "who knows?"
I remember seeing these ads in Adelaide in the early 80s as well. Great memories. Didn’t know they were still running them as late as the early 90s.
Who knows? MUM KNOWS.
Yes, yes she does. Lol
Brings back childhood memories from the 80s. Great times
man i love perth.... onya scottcongdon!! Love ya work!
6 main nutrients: carbohydrates, fat, protein, minerals, water and... You gotta keep em balanced.
Vitamins😊
These ads really need to keep going. So wholesome and so true.
We had these ads in the SE of SA on Channel 8. Still remember most of the words!
I remember this was shown in Ballarat on BTV6 in the mid 80s. I found it so frustrating because it always cut out near the end when he says "Mum knows"... I never saw the complete version until today! Thanks heaps! Even though I haven't seen this for 25 years, I still remembered most of it. The mind is an amazing thing.
Fantastic series of ads, very memorable and every one of them is more relevant today then they were 20 years ago so they should be put back on TV pronto.
A good chance to reflect on how corporations regard their social responsibility (CSR) today. They require only money for sustainance, yet it doesn't stop them passing themselves off as human participants on the safe fringe issues...Qantas, AFL, et al. Time to get back to basic, common concerns because the illusion of progress around the edges masks the decay at the core.
@bambbbam They used to have two categories for carbs - simple and complex - it's not really clear in the ad but I think that's where the 6 came from.
The Groovy Side Of the Tube My Food Studies 30 secondary school course from Saskatchewan lists the “6 essential nutrients” as follows: 1. Carbohydrates, 2. Fats, 3. Proteins, 4. Water, 5. Vitamins, and 6. Minerals. So based on this list they missed vitamins
We still have technically have two categories for Carbohydrates (simple and complex).
These were re-introduced back in the late 90's, though I don't think the monsters one ever made it back to air, as I don't recall ever seeing it.
Same here in Qld
A real classic
OMG the memories!! XD
MY NEURONS HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED
MUST GET THE BODY MACHINE GOING
my first lesson on nutrition...who knows, mum knows!!
crazy animation i like it
Tom Waites should cover this!
Awesome song
who knows? MUM KNOWS!!!
Catchy
1:32 They put the lone 9 from 2001 inside a square in 2005-06
har that's great! I almost forgot that ad existed, now it's just I saw it yesterday. From a time when mum really did know everything, we didn't need no "nutritialists". Hey but that kid isn't anatomically correct lol
An absolute classic! Does anybody know who the musicians and animators are and what they are doing now?
It was in the mid to late 80's that these came out in Perth
Bullshit! Late 70s
Yep, late 1970s. I'd say 1979?
I remember this they played these ads everyday after school btw I am 35 now!
Ah yes mum knows alright... we used to think she knew nothing... but then we grew up and had kids of our own lol
I totally agree
1:15 bbbbbbbzzzzz-sszzaabooo-zzzzzeeeeee-booziee-boooogie....you feelin' great you can do all the things you wanna do....bbbbbbbbbbbbb
hahahahaha was the best part of the ad, and the end when they say "who knows mom knows" hahaha and the hand taps mums head. and the mum has been knocked out of her senses lol
NAKED!!!
Ooh, zapoo-zip purse de body!
ohhhhhh Minerals!!!
@eiszeit13 Meee too!! I live in Sydney now, and no one knows what I'm talking about!!
1:15 brrr zabu zip bootsy boody
this is from 2006 judging from the logo at 1:32
@Sandra Morris if you look for my Facebook page, Channel 9 community service announcements, I've posted all the words there.
What are the 6 main groups?
Come on. That"s only 5 main nutrients.
Vitamins were their own PSA
now theres IPhone 11
In current times the as would be canned because of character having no clothes on, or we'd be told we were racist because the character is white!
Does anyone know who the writer and musicians were for these community ads?
The name of the animator is Gwyn Perkins. :-)
Does anyone know the chords for these songs?
they showed this in 1989, 1999, full circle would dictate they should come back in 2009?
where can i find the lyrics for this?
hehe wheres the other ones
0:27 tell you what they are
Who sang this??
Promotion of margarine, tap water, bread sugar and table salt and people still think this is good health promotion. This is one seed of why our hospital systems are laden with chronic health issues but sure why not ask for reruns... 🤔
I loved these as a kid, however on this one I could never work something out, it says there are 6 main nutrients and then goes on to list: Carbohydrates, Fat, Protien, Minerals and Water.... that's only 5!!!
Thats so true. I think it may be because they had another one all about vitamins which played alternatively with this one.
@@hayleykolinski934 That makes sense but they still could have quickly name dropped them.
I want to schow this to my students -has anyone got all the words
what year is that from?
late 70s-early 80s remaster from 2006 because of the logo at 1:32
wasn't it the 90's?
Is this Ricky May singing this?
Grahame Bond, Rory O'Donoghue
Excuse the wrong spelling
I love how I can look up a 30 year old Australian health campaign cartoon about singing goddamn vegetables and I STILL see comments whining about "political correctness" and declaring feminists as evil. Stay frosty RUclips
Feminism is cancer and indeed evil. Stay salty butt mad sjw. Your cult is done.
umm school house rock is better
My wife grew up in NSW so had naturally never seen all these ads, but I agree with her: These could really help kids (and parents) today if they brought them back nationally. Love these :)
