I have a 2015 M3 with no ZCP. currently with Dinan exhaust and I am always wondering if I change the exhaust, would I have the same burble/farts? Dinan doesn't have burble/fart much right now

Few days ago i saw the new AA equal lenght pipe and i wonder what is the better solution? Yours or the new one? For now my axle back exaust its the OEM but i'll get problaby a REMU or an Akrapovic like you have in your car.

JOAO PEDRO MIGUEL only the single midpipe eliminates rasp. Equal length makes it sound high pitched and has a lot of rasp.

what i really love about this system is that unlike other setups the quite mode is actually quite while the loud mode is well.. loud.
in most of the other systems there isnt much difference between the two modes which kinda kill the whole idea of having the valves.
It is absolutely incredible how quiet it is. I can have a set of down pipes and it will still be quiet. Now I just gave myself an idea ha ha

Sounds great Tommy! I just took delivery of a 2021 manual M2C. MST intake going in on Tuesday and have been debating on AA midpipe and Remus axelback, or the armytrix full exhaust, this is a very nice setup and I may have to go with this! Nice build my friend!

Remus axel back goes on my M2c soon and then AA mid pipe next... that Mid-pipe makes a massive difference when paired with a 3rd party back box

Sounds amazing! Ever since i put the akra down pipes on, plus the mpe i had. The raspiness went crazy in sport mode. A little bit better in sport+. Not sure why

This combo paired with the equal length mid pipe from Active Autowerke would probably be heavenly. I know you just installed this solution but you should check out the equal length mid pipe as you still get the fart can sound over 4.5K rpms.
Actually the fart can issue has been eliminated with this single design mid pipe. It gives the car a deeper sound. The equal length pipe in my mind sounds like a Nissan

On video, this tone sounds much deeper than the equal length midpipes and the Active Autowerke Maad Maxx exhaust. Do you you know if that’s the case? The Akrapovic makes that much of an impact on the deep tone vs the active auto one? Really wanting to get something DEEP sounding with the ability to close valves and be quiet too

Awesome exhaust...just got a 2016 M4 coupe and it came with a Remus Sport exhaust and I so am tempted to swap it out and sell it for an Akraprovic! Had one on my 991.1 before I sold it and it was glorious. Best out there...reason it costs a bit more. WIsh I could find one at a reasonable cost tho! :(. Enjoy! :)
Honestly you get a similar sound just by getting a competition muffler and a single active autowork mid pipe.

Tommy this is amazing. I have just the AA single midpipe on my M2c with stock muffler. Might have to try this? But I’m not sure if I’m crazy enough to cut an akra exhaust like you 😂 I was actually thinking Remus axle back with the aa midpipe on my car
i have akra with theirs midpipe together, so no need to cut anything, all fits bolt-on. Sound really good, but now want to add downpipes as well..
AA midpipe gives you a deeper sound and eliminates the rasp. That’s why I didn’t get the full Akra setup.
The exhaust sounds awesome. With the valves closed its so quiet. While you were at Kies did you dyno it?

I'm of the mindset, that the stock sound has never been an issue with me on these cars. They also are done no justice when listening to them on RUclips.
I also understand the way this engines manifold length, and firing order alter the sound so much, relative to an N55. Form following function. They knew it was going to sound different, before it was ever even released.
In my opinion... While this still sounds great in it's own right. The best I've heard (hands down, not even close, no question... Is the active auto equal length mid, with the M performance exhaust. 🙌🙌

Get the single midpipe. Deep tone and eliminates rasp. Equal length makes the car high pitched and keeps the rasp

So If i have the whole piece, middle pipe and muffler. Will It sound louder? Or doesn't make any different. Cuz my friend gonna sell his m4. He want swap with my factory catback. I believe it will be a simple work. But I'm more concerned it might be loud Which might have issue with my neighbor in future.😓
It will sound quieter. The mid pipe I have makes it louder.
That is crazy do all Akrapovic exaust come like that for the F80 where you have to cut it ? Was yours exhaust one of those that they messed up on when they manufactured it ?
We decided to custom fit it to my midpipe. It was Brand new perfect exhaust
Nice man. I wonder if you could just figure out a way to extend the tips somehow and just poke them out a little.
We looked at it and unfortunately there is no way. But I’ve got a solution in the works so stay tuned!

I am digging the sound, but am not a fan of the pops. Are the pops the result of the tune? I’m yet to put exhaust on my F80 and plan to do it next month. I want it to be louder, but really want to avoid the pops.
Pops are oem but are made louder due to midpipe
Hi I just followed your lead and got the Akrapović exhaust cut and added to my F83 with AA mid pipe same set up as you had. I have an ESS tune with GTS burbles. With the addition of the Akrapović exhaust, there are now no more burbles? Any suggestions? I have reached out to ESS and they stay it is a function of the exhaust muffling things. This is even with the valves open. Also there is a constant booming which is unpleasant to say the least. Any suggestions?

Hey their a company called CG precision that make a valve controller that plugs in to the exhaust that has two modes you can either have it be like factory if you like every time you start the car or have the valve open with a push of a button for a cold start
But my car comes with those valves from the factory. They stay closed when the car is in efficient mode and are open when I put the car in sport or sport plus

I have it on mine for my neighbors don’t hate me when I start my car at 5 am everyday but when I leave work I like to do a cold start with the valve open .. I don’t like the people at my job😂

Exhaust mods did not affect it at all. But I did tip my SA $100 each visit :)
Curious to know why not just go with the M Performance V2 exhaust ? For more of that OEM plus look with the MPE exhaust tips ?
Because it sounds like shit with downpipes. Probably the most horrific sound my ears have ever heard in person. Akrapovic did their homework and system sounds good with or without downpipes.

Are the clamps (connecting the ak and the link pipe) from Akrapovic or you bought it elsewhere?
They were all provided by Akra, including the reducers

Kiedys to byly tereny niemieckie . Niemcy prawdopodobnie w tych gorach ukrywali strasznie nowoczena technike( poczytaj sobie o Riese) .Ów dziadek opowiadal mi , ze od pewnego czasu prawie codziennie miedzy godzina 22 a 24 nad ta gora pojawia sie jakis statek i robii zdjecia. Spytalem sie go czemu jakiegos zdjecia nie zrobil . On odpowiedzial, ze nie wpadl na to. Gdy ja i on wyzdrowieje to mamu sie spotkac i ma mi pokazac ów statek . Sounds alright, but still doesn't sound smooth like the equal length exhaust options. I know it's personal preference but the smooth inline-6 sounding JZ/RB sound you get with the equal length exhaust make the car, and seems BMW agrees with the equal length exhaust on the new S58.

Have you seen that Active Autowerke has come up with a completely new design midpipe "equal lenght" style that completely changes the sound of the s55 and makes it sound 2jz ish?
That’s the thing, it changes the sound of a German car to a Japanese import. I’m not really into that, and I don’t understand how all these bands do not affect performance. Not to mention the added weight.

They all just kind of sound the same on video while free-reving them in a parking lot. Hopefully when you do the drive by video we will get a better idea of how it sounds? Those tips are ridiculously nice though. I can definitely understand why you’d want them to show a little better.
I already got a replacement diffuser on order. And I will be working on a drive-by video sometime this week so hopefully by next Sunday it’ll be ready
