I agree but you can get a close estimate if you take both his reference points you can come up with y = 0.1667(x) + 0.5 x being the sens you would want like 5.5 and go on from there
Even though I'm a mouse and keyboard warrior, I still like these videos. It gives me a sense of what sensitivity really does. It's not going to be 1:1 to my experience and what options I have on a PC, but it gives me an idea of the trend. Mouse and keyboard players, always watch these. You might pick up a thing or two. I've tweaked my settings based on info in these videos. Really helps sometimes.
It’s like a mild crutch, it slows down as you barely push and barely release the stick, it delays ur turns etc. BUT it maximizes aim assist. Linear on the other hand allows for SNAP action and user input for slowdown ONLY. It takes more skill to use, but in the long run if you’re good at it, it allows for more precise control of user inputs.
Just learned about the response curve adjustments today. My problem was windshield wiping. I'd aim, land on target, but if they moved an inch, I'd over adjust and lose my shot. Spent hours playing with deadzones and custom sensitivities until I dropped the response curve slope down to .30 on dynamic and my aim has improved 1000%. Why? Still not sure. But it's the first setting I've messed with that doesn't feel like a placebo. Thank you
I mean i think it would be that you guys perfect something close to Linear but with the slowdown dynamic has at the mid to long range for more accuracy
Opposite for me. In MW2 Linear perfect, in MW19 Linea perfect. In MW3, it feels off, can't figure it out but I THINK it's the curve, it's more flatter.@@Real_Beaky
What I want to see next is the auto fire setting. How it works exactly. Know it doesn't take semi weapons to their max rpm but still want to see what goes on.
Ace, what about when you use the daul sense edge controller for ps5. You can create custom settings on the controller itself. Do these cancel out or should you be setting the controller to compliment the settings in game??
I have to completely with some of these findings on aim type being the same as before. There's a noticeable difference in MW2 vs MW3 aiming sensitivity. I think it may be the response curve difference (in MW2 you cannot adjust this). But MW3 definitely feels like there's LESS of a curve and more of a straight line because it LACKS the tiny movements when aiming, in MW2 you can be exceptionally accurate when you move the Right Stick ever so slighty. Adjusting the DEADZONE will ofcourse give more precision, but once you've done this, it's NO LONGER the same as MW2 at all. So something is different for sure.
I recently switched to Dynamic after years of denial. It feels great in this game, I'm pretty sure when it was first introduced a few years ago, it was more aggressive. The slight aim acceleration (even with static input) that standard gives doesn't seem to be present, though that might be just a feel thing.
Thank you for taking the time to explain it all. Everyone has a "you need this" video, and I have found most of those are just copycat vids. This laid out what things did, and how they really work. Thank you again.
In sensitivity multiplier there’s an option for ADS sens only and I like to stop that to 0.85, let’s me use a higher sens to run and snap on people and also a slower ads sens for long range
Custom sense is a thing. The reason you don’t feel it is because you have .75 ads sens. Changing that custom sens number actually slows the transition between aiming on the different sensitivity’s
What a help to the community.. you are the best .. thank you for all you do .. I had the problem of not finding my preferred sensitivity since switching from dualsense to edge (this topic can be a whole series lol) and I feel adjusting the curve will help a lot.. I find dead zone (max and min) changes help with fine tuning aim with high zoom optics and long ranges .
I wonder how external aim curves interact with the in game ones, like could you overlay an aggressive curve on an elite s2 controller over the linear in cod to try and flatten it out even more? Would running 2 dynamic type curves exaggerate the extremes?
I’m a sensitive 5 on H&V and I play with dynamic. Problem I have is when I snap on ads I’m not quite on target so when I try to adjust it’s like pulling an elephant with a piece of thread to pull on to the target. Any answers for this problem?
I bet you’re using Black Ops as AA as it was the previous META over Dynamic for its stronger Aim Assist, SADLYYY…. The AA bubble for enemies is tough to get through if you have centered onto the enemy. If you switch to default it has less AA but, less is more occasionally in life. Try it.
I played 66 1ads mw 3 im 55 .55 and dynamic jumps to head more than linear i think if i went faster ads sens i would switch to linear because dynamic rmaps up fast and makes me overaim
What about Black Ops vs Default aim assist type? People are saying it feels different this year compared to last year, would love to hear your thoughts on this great video as always!
In my opinion, it seems like the default aim assist type generally guides your crosshairs towards the head first…so prob better for low recoil/single fire weapons. Black Ops seems to focus more on center mass/chest initially, allowing you to hit more shots and you can end up with head shots after controlling recoil. So if you have more recoil on Default, you may get a headshot nearly right away but then you are at risk of missing high if you don’t control recoil perfectly (slightly more wiggle room/room for error on Black Ops, and prob better suited for WZ generally speaking given the ground loot). Idk if that makes sense, but that’s what I’ve found testing in the firing range (for whatever that’s worth)
Thank you so much Ace for actually putting the work and testing behind your words rather than spewing out whatever uninformed incorrect bullshit random lazy people make up for the clicks and views.

I've been wanting to play around with those custom sensitivity settings but I didn't feel like trying to figure out the conversation rate, so thanks for figuring that out, Ace! Also, I know this is a general aim setting, but I do really prefer Dynamic over Standard. Standard (at certain sensitivities) makes my aim feel like it's rolling off a hilltop, if that makes any sense. I've always been a high sensitivity player in CoD because I like being able to make those really fast aim adjustments while still in ADS, but it always made the acceleration feel too fast. Once I switched to Dynamic (during Cold War) I was able to lower my overall sensitivity while maintaining the ability to make those same quick twitch aim adjustments between targets while ADS and eliminating the rolling-down-hill feeling. Personally, I don't really need the added acceleration because if I'm making a bigger aim adjustment I'm dropping in and out of ADS anyway. So all of that is to say I do really like that they added the curve slider to allow even more aim tuning and I hope they add even more customization options in future games.
I find my aim assist is always inconsistent due to visual noise, debris from tactical stuff ( grenades smoke stuns flashes ), different visual effects from tracers, and smoke residing from kill streaks

I gotta try controller again on pc. When I was playing on xbox it always felt like aim assist sometime was on and sometimes it felt like it wasnt on at all. For me at least.
It exists for when mnk players has a aching wrist and want to play on controller temporary for mwz. I main mnk and when I use controller I run 0.8hor/0.55ver sens. Anything above this is too fast that I'll just over turn my camera. For most mnk players we are VERY not used to "move a little bit of the stick", when we move it, we move a whole lot of it. Bcuz in mnk's world, the lower the sens, the higher the precision, we will lower our sens so much so we can accurately control every pixel we're aiming at.
A lot of people are sleeping on custom sensitivity settings. With the right deadzones it pretty much gives you sticky aim and aim assist is stronger as well.
Does anyone Xbox elite controller have Y button weapon swap issues sometimes I click it and nothing happens if I hit it 3-4 times ?. Controller is brand new too
Been a linear player for years on every other game, always knew cods linear was weird. Used dynamic bc it felt more “linear” than the actual linear setting.
The thing that helped me the most was adjusting the L2 and R2 button sensitivity. Now instead of almost having to bottom the button out i barely have to touch it. I was always bitching about how it felt like i pushed my button but it was wasn't responding quick enough now it feels like i get my shot off first. Plus it massively increased my fire rate on single shot weapons.

Also I tried to "trick" where you set the mouse sensativity to relative then set the ads monitor coeffeciant to 1.78. and i cant play with relative mouse setting i always miss shots like i wil go and aim and i will be on the person then it will at the last second move to the side so i only play with legacy mouse settings aiming is so much better. For me at least.
Now linear actually feels like linear. I always felt like something was a little off.
what did you change for it to feel like true linear
I feel like a lot of dynamic users use it because we played Halo?
Unless im tweaking.
Yes it’s 100% better than regular sense
whats yours anyways?
@@Slurpified who’s?
@@Slurpified usually I play on 1.60 but sometimes I do switch to 1.70.
Does anyone Xbox elite controller have Y button weapon swap issues sometimes I click it and nothing happens if I hit it 3-4 times ?. Controller is brand new too
Yes, I have encountered this and had teammates encounter it as well. No idea what causes it tho.
bro you have to test the advanced settings motion sensor, gravity and controller change something in the curves and also fov sensitivity scaling
even if motion sensor functionality is deactivated
Been a linear player for years on every other game, always knew cods linear was weird. Used dynamic bc it felt more “linear” than the actual linear setting.
What are the weapons and attachments are you using
Everyone should adjust their ADS sensitivity setting on the vertical plane to help them control recoil
I’ve heard pro players say that the mw3 skins are quieter than the mw2 skins. (Even with covert sneakers) can you test this?
imagine
The thing that helped me the most was adjusting the L2 and R2 button sensitivity. Now instead of almost having to bottom the button out i barely have to touch it. I was always bitching about how it felt like i pushed my button but it was wasn't responding quick enough now it feels like i get my shot off first. Plus it massively increased my fire rate on single shot weapons.
Where is this in settings?
@robstukenborg8482 go to settings. Go down to deadzone inputs press square for show more then the bottom 2 are the L2 and R2. I set mine to 0 they are at 13 at default i think.
Switch r2 l2 to r1 l1 inputs for the fastest response time and more accuracy due to putting less effort to pull triggers with your finger
@@frederickbradley8255yea thank you, also fyi another tip that you can use. Instead of R2/L2, I’ve changed my settings around to R1 /L1. So instead of shooting with R2, I use r1 since by (default) when holding the controller, your finger is already placed on R1 trigger while running / shootings, etc. just a tip that’s been working for me since last year warzone 👌
@@l-Lucid-ltotally bro, it’s been working for me for almost 2 years now 👌💪🏼
What i can't figure out for the life of me is why you can't just use sens like INPUTTING 6.5 instead of 1.70?????
Great vid!
Hey ace, I'm on a 5, 6 sensitivity, I use linear with the slop curve set to 0. Also on my elite series 2 controller I have it set to true diagonals. It's a straight line meaning it's as quick as possible and I aim directly to the aim rate. TRY IT and tell me what you think. Awesome vid bud, keep it up
In apex the per optics work together. That's probably why people thought this. Idk ive felt the difference when dropping it to 1.00
You can change each optic setting in apex. Advanced settings.
Ace, do you use the DuelSense Edge or Scuf?
Scuf as my primary, Dual Sense Edge as my backup. Both are great but I slightly lean in the direction of my Scuf due to the feeling of the paddles.
It’s crazy how much of a difference it is when you go from standard to Dynamic. Without Dynamic the game feels so unresponsive.
I need a xbox setting been trying diff setting but no luck
This should be obvious. Is this the first time people use options and settings? Of course greyed out means not active
It'd be nice if they added a reverse dynamic curve.
finally someone said it thank you
I’m about to try dynamic with a 0.50 sen
Great, more ways to make controller better than mnk. Thanks Ace!
I like to have mine pretty high like 12 or 14 I used to have it around like 8 but then after I started playing Black Ops Zombies I was wanting to turn faster so I could shoot Zombies that were behind me faster so I started using insane setting which was as high as it could go and then got used to that and now that's what I'm used to from the many 1000s of hours of playing that and I can't go back I have to have crazy high sensitivity I feel like a snail if it's a reasonable level
Can you please make a video about the best video settings for each of the 3 options:
1. Ranked
2. Best looking game (appearance)
3. FPS friendly
Outstanding content take a bow Ace
Lets go ace.. thank you for this video.
How does aim response curve effect Linear and Dynamic?
Watch video
@@banterbanter sorry. I meant to say. How does curve slope effect linear aim response curve? I'm trying to see if I can get a true 1:1 aiming using Linear and the slope setting.
@@banterbanter I've been burning the wick at both ends. When I commented, I wasn't paying much attention tbh.
@@garythacker6731 do a degree yes, making it flatter albeit not perfectly flat is what Ace said in video
I always knew linear didn’t feel right and now I know why, in every other game I use TRUE linear but in this game they just gaslit me
Do the ADS multiplayers.
Useful guide, however i thought this video was a 'how to find your aim sensitivity multiplier' guide. 👍

Anyone else run aim assist off on controller?
I turned it off to see what it was like back in early MWII when everyone was saying aim assist is op and just never felt a difference so i kept it off since
