im a trauma survivor... i never felt so connected to a therapy approach as this... i IMMEDIATELY identified with the idea of parts.. i make a 6 figure salary... but have a destructive part that i cant explain.. i have been white knuckling everything in my life.. battling it all... somehow i have been surviving.. barely
I appreciate this video so much! My therapist and I just began discussing IFS and it has been so completely accurate regarding my personal experience! I feel like I have finally found the answers and have hope again!
I’m so glad you found the video helpful and that the explanation of IFS resonated with you! Internal Family Systems can really shed light on how different parts of ourselves interact, and understanding these parts can be such a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. What was the most helpful or eye-opening part of the video for you? Feel free to share your thoughts!
I am so grateful for your slideshow. As a visual learner taking heads do not convey the relationships between managers firefighters and exiles as clearly as you have. ❤❤❤
This was so well done! Thank you for being such an engaging and informative lecturer. This was dense with language and ideas, and I think your delivery was especially helpful.
21:30 is it correct to say that the Self is also non-judgemental and takes the time to listen to what all the parts have to say without dismissing any of them? The Self is genuinely interested in all the parts and they can feel it so dialogue flows better and solutions can be found more easily
That’s a great insight, and you’re absolutely correct. In Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory, the Self is characterized by qualities like curiosity, compassion, and calmness. It approaches all parts with a non-judgmental and open mindset, genuinely interested in what each part has to say. This creates a safe space for all parts to express themselves without feeling dismissed or silenced, which helps foster better dialogue and understanding. When the Self is leading, it listens to each part's perspective, whether they’re protective, wounded, or even critical, with the aim of understanding their needs and fears. This helps build trust between the Self and the parts, making it easier to find solutions that respect the needs of the whole system. By taking the time to listen deeply and with compassion, the Self helps create a more harmonious internal environment, where all parts can feel heard and validated, leading to more effective problem-solving and emotional healing. I’d be grateful if you were to share what you found most useful from the video. This has been amazing and such brain opener to my-self CEO. I have been having an argument with the Manager, Firefighter and Exile for nearly 8 days straight now. Thank you, I will find the balance and listen to each of these persons. Send my warmest wishes and many Thanks. Xxx
I'm also finding this really useful. Thank you for uploading it to you tube. I'm a therapist/social worker in private practice in Michigan. I have been trained in IFS but your video really does help me conceptualize in addition to the formal training in a practical way so thank you again.
Hi there, I’m wondering if there is a way to get/download the PowerPoint? Do you get access to that through paying for the CEU? Or is there another way? Thanks.
Thank you for asking. You can get access to the PowerPoint through paying for the CEUs. The PowerPoints are in the classes. You can email support@allceus and we will gladly help you with that.
This is interesting. I am meeting with a Therapist tomorrow that is trained in this. I am not sure if this is confusing me more or if I am getting clarity.
@@DocSnipes I did watch some other videos on IFS. I am also in ACA. I can relate to the different parts within me but I really don't know what/who they are. It sounds like my Therapist isn't really concerned on what/who they are as long as we acknowledge them. I think that is what I was getting out of some of the other stuff I checked out with IFS.
I like this. The theory that there are different parts with different roles and to build communication. Seems like a IFS therapist could work with a person diagnosed with DID.
I jus thave had first IFS session and looking for more info. I had some kind of 3 parts of self - 1 who was looking good for me and knew what was best for me, 2. what knew my past and knew that Im not capable to do all of that stuff and iddnt want, and 3rd that was my skin, who was loughing out everything what was difficult. Later I saw a little girl in the dark, hiodden in the closed, and the kind of Observer, who I wondered to be a god, who were watching all these parts... at the end Superman appeared, who can make everthing very far and little related to me. I am reading now ecerything about IFS and I can not identify my parts with the theory. I still dotn get where is my healing nad what should i do for that. What should I change? I have the feeing that I have a lot of more of parts too, who were not revelaer in the first session... Im very confused about all this.

I wish there were live ifs sessions where we could see these things in practice.
There’s another vid on YT that has a live session. I think it was from a conference or training. Both participants were therapists.
Are you able to link it?

How strange! More than 8000 views and zero likes, zero nonlikes and zero commentaries. Isn't it weird?
Certainly not the case for all our videos. Thanks for watching.
