  • Turns out almost all Intel Raptor Lake K-series CPUs, that being Intel 13th gen and Intel 14th gen CPUs, feature some major instability problems! This is some pretty bad news for Intel...

I am slightly worried with this the whole thing. I just recently built a PC with a 13700K. So far I'm not having any issues, but if I do have a defective CPU it won't be long until problems arise. Crossing my fingers...

Really? Problem is well known for over half year and yet u go intel?

I'd minimize use until until the new bios / fix is released by years mobo maker. I just bought a new in the box i7-13700k and won't complete my build untill I can use the new bios. I think they may tweek the voltages based on thermals for turbo instead of letting thermals self regulate the voltage. Anyway well see how much they dumb down these chips. If too much they'll be alot of RMA request & I'll be one!

For my next computer I will build a desktop with an AMD-socket motherboard.

I have a i9 13900k how do you find out if it even is infected I haven’t had any issues so far

Its mostly bsod, instability in games and rendering, unexpected shutdowns, etc. If your not experiencing these better revert to intel settings now to avoid.

This really sucks. I lean on intel more than ryzen. Im just praying my 14600k gets me through until nvidia enters the cpu market.
I wont touch another intel chip after this. Imagine there is a fault in their product that they refuse to recall.

Of course there's no repair. How do you fix something that was damaged from voltage. You don't.
The microcode is for new CPUs and CPUs that haven't reached instability yet.
    Damaged CPUs will get exchanged.

Is it for 14700k also or just the 13900k and 14900k?

Anyone with a 65W or higher base power is affected, then that goes for any CPUs including and above the i5-13400. So yeah, 14700K is of course also affected.

any 13th or 14th gen intel chip with a TDP over 65w
so a more direct answer. Yes.

To be honest I haven't bought an Intel chip in ages I've always preferred AMD.

Fanboying is stupid, ur simping for a corporation that does not give a shit about you, buy the CPU that gives u the best deal or ur just doing charity for multi billion dollar businesses

Have fun with shilling for Intel, especially when Intel will never reimburse any Raptor Lake owners with overvolted degraded CPU's sold that way out of the box.
