Not just a rebrand. EcoPower engineers redesigned the User Interface to be easier to use and easier to understand what's going on during the charging. We also redesigned the case to look cooler (in our opinion). 😎
Chargers have come a long way. I still remember one of my first chargers the turbo35. Thing was massive compared to those and you still needed a giant external power supply. Im super impressed with the dual charger.
Great question! We designed the User Interface to be easier to use and also easier to see what's going on. Also, it is backed by AMain since EcoPower is an AMain owned brand. We also redesigned the case and think it looks cooler! 😜
@@EcoPowerRC The small one looks identical to the gens ace branded one. . almost like they made it for eco power. I say that because I have the small gins Ace one, and it's crap It never worked right from the get-go so it's just laying in the corner of my RC pile
I love seeing a smart option that also will work on any charger or with any battery. I loathe proprietary batteries that don't play well with regular chargers and vice versa. This look like you have the major sizes and everything avialable and very convenient in case you find the need to charge on something else or not need multiple chargers to take of all your cars! Great job Amain!!!
good looking menu on the pro charger, those are pretty much the only stats i want to see when i'm charging. looks like you guys are aiming them well at best sellers in the horizon/amain brand. i understand how hard it is to compete with the chinese market on amazon but almost $100 for a 5000mah 4S 50c smart pack? zeee, socokin, and hoovo are selling TWO 6200-6600mah 100-120c batteries for the cost of 1 ecopower smart battery. that smart technology just isn't worth the price difference to me. if you want to play the "chinese battery bad" game, these sellers are very generous with warranty claims and ive ended up with better replacements sometimes. there's no way i'm buying a name brand battery when it comes to 10,000mah 4S batteries, that would end up costing me $3-400 easily. and running a 5000mah pack on a 8th scale or 5th scale sucks, you get maybe 13 minutes of run time.
All I want is a charger that has a discharging capability that can bring down a fully charged battery in a few minutes, instead of several hours. That would be nice.
That’s all gtec technology lol. It literally has a g right on the plug like Gens Ace. That’s an Imars D300! This is clearly just rebranded Gens Ace stuff. It’s all really really good stuff. Question is are they compatible with each other? The UI does look a little different. But I’m not sure.
Small correction.... The Traxxas iD connector may be proprietary, but at least you can use an adapter so it can be used with a 'regular' balance charger, unlike Spectrum. And on these as well as the GenAce system, if you don't use the Intelligent feature, will it still keep track of charge cycles?
I can't buy one of those, so smart they may take over my home and start asking for the car keys and a credit card, already have 3 of those in the house and they're all I can handle right now! But thanks for the FYI👍
I have some Gens Ace versions I bought for my son and while they work superbly, the smart connector is too short and cumbersome compared to Spektrum, which the system I prefer. They may be proprietary but they are superb and batteries have several programming options including self store and store voltage.
First, is obvious the actual OEM is Gens Ace, and that's a VERY good thing. A combination of Gens Ace quality, and Amain customer service, means you can't go wrong. Now the 'bad' news...I'm HIGHLY questioning the "intelligent" side of things. No one else seems to have noticed that the chargers have XT60 connectors...yet, for whatever reason, with the exception of 3 batteries, ALL of the other batteries shown have Spektrum-style EC3 connectors. What's up with that??? The 'smart' pin on the balance connector is only for reading data, so that the smart charger can automatically set the proper settings. The charging, itself, is still done through the standard connector. So, WHY would Amain want to have the batteries with EC3 connectors?
I'm not a battery snob or anything, but LCO batteries are really the only cost effective lipos. After 7 months my Zeee and Ovonic lipos that were putting out 9000 mah, now have degraded to 4000 mah. LMO batteries don't save you money in the long run. My cheap batteries cost half the price of SMC, but now they put out half the amps, so it's pointless. Don't cheap out on batteries. It doesn't pay off. Most lipos use lithium manganese oxide (so-called "Graphene batteries) which rapidly degrades, resulting in long(ish) term dropoff of capacity SMC uses the high quality Lithium Cobalt Oxide, which is why they cost more. Worth every penny. I'm not a battery snob, but on my 15 pound Kagama, anything under a true 100C discharge and i get voltage sag leading to perceived LVC by the ESC, causing shutdown. I'm not meaning to be rude, but personally, I'd trade battery longevity and reliability over ease of use any day. I'm not really interested in smart batteries if they don't use LCO. Maybe I'm a little bit of a battery snob. I'd just not rather lose 40% capacity in under a year. Your mileage may vary.
I never understood the point of getting a smart charger and NOT use smart batteries. I can still charge non smart batteries with my Spektrum charger. Why would you ever purchase a smart battery without already owning a smart charger! Thats just stupid!

I’m pretty sure this is just gens ace stuff rebranded and the smart connection moved to the balance port
The more and more I look at this I don’t care who makes it. If the batteries are good this is a good dam deal.
It absolutely is. Not that it’s a bad thing by any means, but it’s an iMars D300.

Yes sir, we need an AMAIN store in Europe. BTW great Video
Looks like the gens ace charger everyone is using here in Germany.
But the interface seems to be new.
A super silent fan would be nice.

To be honest I was expecting a review of Marcellus Wallace’s soul
“WHAT DOES MARCELLUS WALLACE LOOK LIKE!?”😂
does the lipos smarts work with the gens ace chargers?
Yes, G-Tech batteries will work with EcoPower Intelligent chargers, and EcoPower Intelligent batteries will work with G-Tech smart chargers.
I have a UDR with a XT90 conversation will these packs fit in the UDR????
Ok Bret, all these things are great, but you didn't mention when will AMAIN HOBBIES open a store in Europe :)
Why would one choose this over the same Gens Ace product at the same price?

The real question is why would any non-shill want to use Traxxas or Spektrum products for a premium price.

Yes! One more standard. There are so few standards allready.
Please do a track series on the new groms. I want to see a Mojave grom with sway bars absolutely rip up a dirt track
