- "Astoria is that little town that could, a city of 10,000 people on the Columbia River, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Founded 200 years ago at the beginning of Oregon’s North Coast, Astoria has been through boom and bust times more than once, weathering the collapse of both the Columbia River fishery and Oregon timber industry. It has risen once again as a cultural haven, often referred to as “little San Francisco.” Astoria is an old place that is newly hip. Here, Victorian mansions and maritime relics live in harmony with chef-driven restaurants and tattoo parlors."- visittheoregon...
I lived in Astoria for 15 years, have been away for 5 now (life's crazy circumstances), and am longing to return this coming spring. I know every nook and cranny of Astoria, and this video helped me feel like I was "home" again, going out for an evening walk with my camera. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❣️
But have you been to the tower?
I watched Kindergarten Cop in 1990 and fell in love with Astoria

(The Column) yes.. many times
The fact that Twins produced this amazing walk footage is extra spectacular!
The way you two choreograph your efforts is mind boggling!
Thanks so much for watching!
'Sometimes I Think About Dying' brought me here. The film, not my own thoughts, before you kindly offer help! I'm longing to go to Astoria just because of this movie! From the UK, by the way.
For me a french man, Astoria it's a memory of my teenager, the Goonies and a Kindergarten
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. It was nice to see Astoria again. I lived there for 12 years but moved away 11 years now. I hope to visit again next summer.
You're welcome, thanks so much for watching!!
Amazing rain walk!
Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment!
Thankyou for sharing this vid, Oh How I miss the walks there. Peace
I'm hoping to retire here in a couple of years. Going to make my first visit there in April.
Looks so nice. I'm looking at places to retire in he near future, and peace and quiet are my main wants (Particularly looking to avoid noisy neighbors with constant bass in their music all the time). This looks like a town where that isn't an issue.
You couldv just said u want to live in a whites only town lol
30:01 I see by the glass tiles in the sidewalk that Astoria had underground Shanghai tunnels as well.
Tourists with umbrellas! Ones who live here wear our hoods. Some residents do carry umbrellas.
Hello, I live in Australia and am currently in Year 12 of highschool. I have always dreamed of living on or near a beach ever since I could remember, with a specific beach in Victoria I had in mind. (though costing millions AUD haha). I have been studying for a PHD in Astrophysics, just for a goid job. Recently, I have rewatched The Goonies and have fell in love with Astoria. Checking prices, they are pretty cheap compared to Australia. I’m asking whether it would be good to move there when I’m older. Is it a good place? Good for surfing? Good sky? Haha, just want to know if its worth it. Thanks.
From what we know about the area, it’s a nice area! Good sky for sure. We couldn’t much about the surfing, but the nearby water could be good area for it :) The coast is absolutely beautiful. Good luck with your studies and come back and comment if you do make the move here! Thanks for watching!!
Oregon weather sucks. Homeless are everywhere. The ocean is too cold, no one swims in it. Housing is low standard & unemployment is high. There is no "beach" in Oregon.
Forget Oregon. Woke and broke.
Went here once 2 years ago 🎉
Niiice :) We enjoyed the walk here. Thank you for watching!
Astoria, Oregon. 2009.
