    I cannot EVEN believe just how INEXPENSIVE (Cheap) these Lasers are
    in today's market.
    Twenty years ago or even TEN YEARS AGO, something like this would range
    in well over 6 to 8 HUNDRED DOLLARS.
    Maybe even MORE.
    A few months ago I acquired a small unit for about 16 bucks and back about
    1998 I saw one that wasn't ANY WHERE NEAR what my mini laser is and it
    was a Laser Widow and was about 150 bucks if I remember it right.
    My 16 dollar unit does MORE than the laser widow does.
    I am looking at ebay for one like in this demonstration and
    I swear --- I GOTTA HAVE ONE.
    I have one empty space left in my lighting rig and I am reserving it for a larger
    laser than the mini unit I have.
    I do believe I have found the one I want after seeing your demo of this BAD-ASS unit.
    Thanks for the vid.
    IT'S AWESOME.

      I totally agree. I actually bought this one for about $80 on eBay. It looks and feels kind of cheap and its functions are limited but when the lights are out and the hazer is on, it looks pretty damn amazing!

      I have used many different lights but this will be the first DMX i will ever have used.
      I like how you do this vid in a way I kind of understand.
      I'm sure that once I start playing around with it, I should get the hang of it pretty quick.

    I must say that when I've read the title I thought it was for creating your own shapes and/or animations.

    Hi, great video! My question: can you program gobo's and a dmx laser whit the same dmx controller at the same time. I cant get it right. Or my gobo's work and not the laser, or the laser goes en not te gobos. If i program in another bank my laser programs its going but my gobos go in blackout mode. Whitout the gobos i can control the laser but in daisy chain my gobos dont work anymore. Or do i just need a second dmx controler for just the laser? My has also a digital display. Thanks

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  10 месяцев назад

      You can definitely use the same controller. The key is to have each light with its own unique dmx starting address and to make sure that none of the dmx channels overlap each other.

    Hey Steve, any chance you're familiar with a Shinp CL-10RGB Single Laser? I just got one from a friend and I have no clue how to control it. It seems to be on random now, but on the back of the system there is a small equalizer looking section with 10 switches that slide up and down. Also there is a sensitivity dial that goes from min to max. I'm throwing my kids a new years party, hope you can help out, thsnks

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 года назад

      Hi - The first 3 DIP switches on the back are the method for setting the functions of the laser (the rest are used for setting the DMX starting address if you are using a controller) For example if you put the first 3 switches to OFF (OOO) the laser will be in sound active mode, with the sensitivity dial controlling the microphone input.
      (1OO) ON-OFF-OFF it will be in Auto Beam Mode
      (11O) Auto Animation, and so on.
      Appreciate you watching and sorry I missed the New Years Eve party!

    I would like to set up a show on my 16' garage door and was wondering if you could tell me the distance away from my garage door before it runs over the perimeter of the 16' X 7' size. I could conceal it in front of my palm tree but it is approx. 20 feet away and I think that is too far and the design would overlap onto my home. Can you give me distances for the 4 beam and 6 beam to fit a 16' X 7' rectangle?

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Год назад

      Hi - I wish I had a better answer for this, but with this particular unit, the red laser projects really wide so you would have to be quite close to contain the entire image on the door, while the green and blue lasers are more focused and you would probably need to be about 20' back to have the patterns fill your space. I'm thinking the only way you could get the effect you want would be through trial and error. (sorry I'm not more help on this one)

    Hey steve like your channel .you have help me through what to get and how to program it. But I wish you had this projector up before I bought one .I got mine last October 2019 didn't get 10 hours on mine and one of the red lasers went dim i mean real dim .so I crack it open to see if it was a easy fix. As soon as I took the lid off I saw how the laser was wired up . the laser was hanging by a thread so I solder back on, hoping that was it. Nope so I took some voltage reading from one laser to another found it was low on voltage. I had bought insurance for 9.00 ,it was coming from China. To bring this to a ending contact the seller he said it had no warranty other then it would work when I got it. Will the insurance didn't want to pay off they said should have a mfg. Warranty. This went back and forth till April 2020. Anyway trying to fill out the claim and getting them to here my story and say its a what , whats it do and so on. They finely got a check for full price .and I paid 107.00 I have 2 laser docks and love then ,and the one your showing is like the one I had. It looks cool in a dark basement with fog .and I would like to get the one they sell with the strobe on it. If you order on get insurance for 9.99 for 2 years it was money well spent. By the way the insurance company said they would try to fix it .I got a email back in 7 day .can not be fixed. That was no surprise I think there big into cell phone and cameras
    Sorry about the long story .first every sending anything like this . And lucky steve get it .but not for steve would not been able run the light board .love there instruction. All clear G.M

      similar story. got mine via Aliexpress from a shop I had bought loads of light from. Red went dark after just a week of use. I opened it and saw that the unit is replaceable. I told the seller the defect and sent him pictures/videos. About 6months later (covid delays) they sent me a replacement red laser unit and something that looks like a laser generator but built like a heat sink. I pulled the sockets, and reinserted the new units in. Red came back. All fixed. I have 4 of them
