    i love how you can see general disc-user feedback with every new disc that comes out. "it's hard to take out" -> new disc comes out with a pull tab. "i don't like auto-dumping" -> new disc comes out with a leakproof shield.

    I think you should take more credit for the surge in popularity of discs! Everyone I know who uses reusables got into them because of you and PACII, and your reviews of discs specifically and showing that cups weren't the only solid reusable option made discs seem less scary. I got the Saalt disc because of your review (and also because I loved my Saalt cup but wanted something a little bit different)! You're like the internet's Fairy Godmother when it comes to period products 😂

    Congrats on the collab with Diva! So happy with how your business ventures keep growing and am immensely grateful for your impact in the community! I truly believe reusable menstrual products are becoming more popular and people find them less intimidating because of your videos. I have an extremely irregular and heavy period, and the cups and disks have given me so much more comfort and peace of mind. I remember when I would have to go to a restroom every 2hrs to change my tampons or pads. It was extremely inconvenient. The disc's high capacity and autodumping feature means I dont have to worry about changing it out until the end of the day. Thank you for helping me make the switch to reusables ❤

      Dude that's so awesome for you! And thanks for sharing! I don't think many people even consider how menstrual cycles impact trans men. Idk if it would help, but for me at least a combo of a menstrual disc and Thinx period underwear often make me forget I'm on my period. Thinx makes a boyshort style that looks like boxers and it's black so no visible stains.

    This was a smart release on Diva's part. Since it's designed for lower cervixes in mind, it doesn't compete with its cup, which definitely caters to the high cervix crowd. I doubt their disc would work for me, since I would not be able to reach it.

    • @ritak6329
      @ritak6329 Год назад +9

      My cervix is super high or I just have baby fingers lol. I can BARELY reach mine on the first day of my period and this disc works for me! I needed a soft disc with some type of reliable pull tab. This is it! For peace of mind, I attached a string to the pull tan just to keep me at ease but I didn’t need to use it. This is my second period using it and I don’t think I will ever go back to cups unless I know I will be in a public restroom!

    I was considering switching to a disc from Tampons for like 3 years now.. but of course when you're use to using one thing and nervous about the unknown, sometimes it takes time to take that leap of faith. Well, last week thanks to you, I made the switch to a disc! Omg idk why I waited so long! I am a huge fan of auto-dumping and I actually placed the disc perfectly the 1st time with no user error thanks to your videos. I will never ever ever go back to Tampons! I'm glad that there are more products coming that are softer discs or softer versions of existing discs. The more firm discs are actually pretty painful for me (as well as another friend who uses reusable menstrual products) and give me bad cramps and fatigue on my back/pelvic area which in turn makes my legs feel tired and sore. I am curious about the cora soft disc since it seems to be the softest one right now. I love the hello disc but even with a level 3 firmness both my friend and I feel uncomfortable after a short while. I would love for the hello disc to come out with a softer version because the pull tab is really effective! It holds so much more compared to cups I hope I see more softer discs (with good removal haha) soon :)

It went absolutely flawlessly, no pain coming in or out, no leaks even at night, no pain, unfolded and sealed properly. I will NEVER use a tampon again! But I really want to try a disc! Just bought the Spot combo from Diva's website (she was sold out) Thanks for this review!
    The nixit works amazing for me, the harder Cora disc actually gave me wicked cramps (I never cramp) and had to switch to a softer one, and thanks to you, I choose Nixit.
    But, I have a very high cervix, and to remove the nixit involves a complicated process of bearing down and wedging my finger between the disc and my pelvic bone to pop it out of place, proceeding to squirt blood in the toilet... I've made unfortunate explosive messes this way. Removal while standing (in the shower) is nearly impossible sometimes because of how deep it is and the inability to grasp the disc edge.
    I am super happy to find a SOFTER disc with a tab; this was the only thing keeping me from trying the Hello disc. I am hoping this makes my life easier!
    Thanks again for your amazing help, Kim!

      @Harlow Khmer discs honestly SEEM scarier but are 10X easier to put in. The hello disc seems like an amazing one as well as the Diva- the pull tab IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. The caviat is they are messier than cups. If a hand covered in blood bothers you, try a cup. Cups can be slightly finicky, but once you get the seal right, you're good to go. Either way, once you nail down the technique of a cup or disc (I've honestly gone through tons of them though) I'll never go back to anything else. 12 hours and no worries. It's life changing.

    I think the popularity of disks comes with the popularity of IUDs growing. I love love love my Diva Cup (that I've had for over a decade), but when I got an IUD, I learned I really shouldn't use it anymore. I went with period panties for a while, but really miss my cup! I started use disposable Flex Disks, but I want something reusable, and more sustainable. I've also had some leaking with the Flex Disk, nothing too terrible, but definitely stain worthy for my undies. I feel like Diva coming out with a disk eliminates my ability to not be able to choose which disk to go with! I feel so much more confident about it. It was a bit anxiety inducing comparing all of the other disks out there.

I like that the Diva disc is less firm than the Hello and that the Diva disc has a pull tab. However, I am a person that enjoys the auto dumping. Now we just need a disc brand to make a less firm disc with pull tab and allow for autodumping. I'm still not sure if I will purchase the Diva disc because I do want autodumping.

      I would ask Diva's customer service if they have an informed opinion on the safety of trimming that shield off. It would also very likely void any warranty if there is one. I also like auto dumping so I get the conundrum you're in, especially if you have a heavy period since this disc holds a bit less than many and likely won't auto dump for you with the shield.

No leaks, inserted without any issues, firmness was perfect, did not auto dump, everything about the disc worked worked. Though the only thing that I dislike about the disc is A. The leakproof shield doesn't work when pulling it out, and B. The capacity isn't much of a difference from the cup I wad previously using (only a 6ml difference). So I'm trying out the saalt disc to see if it's a lot better.

    • @burntcurlyfries3185
      @burntcurlyfries3185 2 года назад +1

      To get mine in one handed I have to pinch it with my thumb and pointer finger near the back end AND with my middle and ring finger closer to the loop, so basically having it pinched in two places. It also really helps me to wear it flipped because then the loop is out of the way. I hope this answer helps, good luck! 👍

    • @circling-girl
      @circling-girl 2 года назад +7

      Honestly the Hello disc is more difficult to insert than other discs. It's something about the rim shape I think that makes it harder to stay folded and more curved at the edges than folded flat like other discs. I can still get it in but it's definitely a two hander for me and there's more effort required. You might want to try a different disc, I've been able to insert every other disc I've tried one handed.

    • @atropos_thefate
      @atropos_thefate 2 года назад +1

      I think the difficulty is the firmness of the rim. I do best using 2 hands with my Hello disc, but find I can do one handed insertion with the Cora disc, which has a thicker rim. Though that one can get messier or tricker for removal, especially if it rotates.

      @@selenad.365 The Lumma disc high was the first I tried over two years ago and it works great for me. Just had to cut off the stem as it poked me.
      I then bought the Flex reusable as I heard that the thinner basket might allow a longer time until one needed to auto-dump. And for me it does. The Lumma is easier to insert. The Flex tries to open or even tries to rotate when inserting. Never had this issue with the Lumma. But once it's in it's great. I like both, but as the Flex reusable allows me a longer wear time before I need to auto-dump I prefer the Flex.
      If the Flex disposable is available near you, try it to see if it works for you before getting the reusable one. Use pads at first as backup until you know how it works. For me the disc is the best menstrual product. Wish I had this much earlier in life. I can highly recommend it.

      @kaylivelazquez7354 2 года назад +2

      I'm no Kim or doctor, but your cervix will be very different while pregnant! For example, while menstruating, the cervix generally moves from lower/firmer during your period, then higher/softer around ovulation. Since you're not ovulating, bleeding, ovulating, etc while pregnant, PLUS you're holding physical weight in there, the cervix will be in a different state (from what I understand, if conception occurs, the cervix will remain in that higher softer position)
