i also recommend more mitski… this song and the album its from is quite different in sound from her other albums… i reccomend the songs “Happy” (has a great music video), “Washing Machine Heart,” “First Love Late Spring” and “Geyser”…. her songs really focus on songwriting…. shes often quite dark in lyrical content
Man I gotta say, you have some awesome reactions. You’ve gotten me through this whole day that I’ve been on light duty at work. Definitely will be checking out your pateron. Edited to add: she’s actually pleading with herself in this song. The mistake she made for 15 years was actually her career, before this album (that came out last year) almost didn’t happen because she had quit music. So when she’s singing “I need you to love me more” she’s talking to herself. She needs to love herself more and love her music and what she’s done.
A lot of Mitski's songs are sombre, but that's what I love about them. If you're interested in hearing more, here are my recommendations: Old Friend, Because Dreaming Costs Money, Bag of Bones, Humpty, Two Slow Dancers, A Burning Hill, & Last Words of a Shooting Star!
