OMG. What a masterpiece this video is. 👍🌹❤️🔥🌹👍 I suspect that Mitski is Iniut because the song had strong indiginous vibes with some Japanese Haiku flavour thrown in. The lyrics were subtle and exceptional. The music gave a strong sway sound following the alcoholic mesmerized by every stray thought before her. She was obviously thinking about the dicotomy between temptation(devil) and rescue(angel) The lyrics and visuals beautifully represented this utilizing the drunk, her movements, and her interaction with the padre? and the church choir. Even the title gives that strong contrast between the lowly bug and lofty angel. Wow, wow. Wow. Thank you Jim❤️🔥❤️ I just can't get over how incredible the poetry is. I believe if Tazz and Philly were to listen to a lot more Asian type music they would have picked up the subtle brilliance of this piece of art. 🥰🥰🥰Love and hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
Hmmmm, thanks Renee. LOVE your breakdown and explanation of it all. Sometimes it is hard to decipher a song at first listen... thanks for the education on this song. Maybe we will reaction to some more Asian type songs, that you made known this is. Give a song suggestion. 😏 Also, THANKS for giving this song a chance. This is perfect example why I want more to listen to everything we post - you ended up loving it. ~ Tazzz ~ ~ Tazzz ~
I checked out Mitski and found out she is Japanese Americain. This explains much. Traditional Japanese music pieces tend to go for simple contrasting themes, strong lyrics and instrumental elements to give the mind time to savour each idea. It is a quiet(strings and wind), subtle, insular culture which is opposite of Americain culture which is strong, more obvious, loud (percussion) and very expansive. Mitski has stuck to the Japanese music style but added strong bits and visuals like a strong spice. When Dimash first came out with Ikanaide, I delved into Japanese music for awhile. Modern Japanese music is the opposite which is why most of the best heavy Metal comes from Japan. It has been a while since I have been following this kind of music style so please give me a day or two to come up with suggestions.❤
If looking at Mitski's vocals alone, I suspect that Jim is a big Angelina Jordan fan or plays Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" on repeat.😏😂😅 I was unable to find an older Japanese traditional song that would illustrate what I was talking about artwise and yet still get some views. Soo... I went a bit more modern. This is Takahiro Moriuchi (known as Taka to his fans) singing a soft rock ballad called "Wherever You Are" in both english and Japanese. This video has subtitles in english because Taka's english pronounciation can be tricky at times. ruclips.net/video/cnM07bF_43w/видео.htmlsi=i06W4a5zqFv5R-0z Taka is a world class vocalist so I am sure your subscribers will love it. 🥰🥰🥰Hugs🇨🇦
On September 15th 2023, Mitski released her stunningly lush album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We. However, despite receiving abundant praise from both fans and critics, the beloved indie musician did not receive a single Grammy nomination this year. Feb 2, 2024
