this is really the best map choice ive seen on youtube so far ! good job, would be cool if you make some "best realistic maps for beamng" cuz im looking only for maps without ramps and stuff :) subscribed btw
I'm preparing more content as we speak, I have some maps in mind that fit the description but I have not tried any new non-racetrack ones in a while so I will have to do a lot of digging first :D
It's been years and this video is still relevant and useful, thank you. I was absolutely blown away to see Roane County, I used to live in Lenoir. Can't wait to absolutely rip it on US40 like I always dreamed of.
Very nice review. Canyon of Speed number one for me, super map, I went too much on it! American Road off-road course just amazing, totally agree.Tail of The Dragon is new for me, i'll try this. Other cool maps: Leap of Death, Rally Forest, Mount Coot-tha, Polish Roads, Desert Highway, Mount Glorious, Pikes Peak, Baja Hills.
I'm currently trying loads of pure off road maps, video coming next week, that is the reason I did not include some of those you wrote here - they fit the other video way better and for the sake of just driving around, ignoring all else, these were really my favs :D
Canyon of Speed and Altitude always remind me of playing the original NFS on my playstation as a kid. It’s a particular blend of eerily empty landscapes, especially the deserts, with exaggerated roads - steeply banked turns, massive hills, huge jumps - I’ve come to prefer more realistic roads, I think Italy is still my favorite map to drive on, but these types of maps always make me feel so nostalgic. There’s another map like them, I can’t remember the name but it’s a lot like Nevada interstate and Desert Highway that felt the same way. Anyway I also wanna add that I thought this was a great video and with the benchmarks and the links and timestamps in the description you provided everything anyone could ask for, so thank you bro
What are your in game graphical settings? Sounds like you could turn them up for a little better visuals and still get at least 60HZ.. unless you have a 60+ hz monitor frames abover 60 dont make any difference.. its just unnecessary stress on the system.. Great video though im looking forward to checking out these maps
Yes, this is very true, but when I trun on the traffic I get about 35-40% FPS hit, so 100 FPS becomes 60-65, that's why I don't push it more - dynamic lightning is not worth the smoothness for me :D
something about the shaking, i noticed with another sim called assetto corsa if you drive on huge maps like the shutoko expressway the further out from the center the more everything seems to shake so its most likely just a thing that happiens on physics engines made for relitavely small play areas
The thing about the tennesee-shaking thing: the thing with simulations is the further you go from the center of maps the more inaccurate the calculations get. Probably the best known examples is minecraft with its farlands where just the whole game breaks down over distance. With this map its just so huge that these inaccuracies get visually visible if you at the edges of it.
@@CasualGamingTips then you would have to rewrite the entire engine of the game. But it isnt a big problem in my opinion since the game still works perfectly
@@michagrill9432 It's actually an Issue I've noticed in only two maps: this one and downhill domination, now there are WAY bigger maps than downhill domination that work flawlessly so there might still be a workaround after all...
@@CasualGamingTips huh really? Well i got the game just 3 days ago and the only time i had this before was in Assetto Corsa at the very edge of the shuto revival projevt wich is like 100 km long
@@michagrill9432 Oh, I've been playing it for years and many maps over 10k km x 10k km have no problems whatsoever, so it's weird. If it was the case for all big maps I would not mind, but this is the only big map with this problem.
I think the camera shake on Roane County might related to the RAM, or some vehicles just have a bugged FP cam. For example, I have 32 gigs of ram, and on one car I made inside of Automation, it wiggles around like crazy, while it's not noticable at all on my luxury hypercar. And it used to be worse with 16GB ram until ii upgraded.
@@CasualGamingTips hm. i just set myself a ram limiter to 16 gigs, no issues at all, maybe its just the car. i did get shake on the sunburst, but not on a custom automation car that has 500 NM in idle, 2200 hp at peak and a topspeed of 650 kph (tested in beam)
Yes, though I forgot to mention that also the grass distance is about half xD The re encoder kinda ruins the video quality and it's the same for all new channels when it comes to 1080p video, once the channel grows new videos will use more render demanding but better looking codec :D
I wish there was so game of driving on my island, I wouldn't really care if it was a beamng map, but ok. I find this video... look at Tennessee's highways and im like this map is perfect just to then see on the end the camera shakes inside the car, RIP.
The map author probably realizes that too, BUT having them on the map would make the map lag significantly more and many low to mid end PC would not be able to run it at decent framerate. This is why many map creators choose to reduce the amount of vegetation, distant land and well any small props around the map. As more and more people upgrade to PCs that have 32+GB ram and GPS with over 8GB VRAM we can expect far less of a need to reduce such detail, and way better looking maps, but until then such maps would pretty much be "elite only" content so they don't make much sense.
No it's not too slow for early ryzen cpus, only 3xxx and newer ryzen cpus have a sweet spot of 3000/3200 ram. 1xxx and 2xxx ryzen cpus work fine with slower ram like 2400
Anybody know of any good dirt road maps? my favorite thing by far in this game is drifting on dirt roads but there aren't a lot of them out there. Best maps i've found so far is the dirt version of Pikes Peak and the Forest Rally map. These are about the only maps i've seen that are 100% comprised of dirt.
I'm planing on making a video on that as soon as my new mic arrives. Don't have the list yet though but try looking for "off road testing" on repo and you will some good ones. Search for desert maps also American road, downhill domination, canyon of speed and cliff roads have very good offraod sections also
To think I've been missing out on these maps for all this time... Thanks
Glad to help :)

Imagine all of these maps with more realistic lighting and textures. That would be amazing.
It could happen in a couple of years as the game develops further :D
Imagine having a computer that could run it
Dude what the hell this is the best video everybody should see this I don’t need to get maps ever again thank you holy god! 🔥🔥
Thank you, there are a few more cool maps though, I'll make a video on them also. I'm very busy at the moment but it be out out eventually :D

Altitude
The map is to small and ends to soon and i end up randomly a falling into a bunch of colors
