  • Romania is the EU's absolute hidden gem! This country is severely underrated by travelers, but that makes the experience of visiting even better-you can see amazing castles and cozy cities without having to deal with crowds of tourists. Today I'm taking you with me on a trip to Transilvania, where we explore Brasov, Bran, and Peles castles and also Romanian culture and delicious cuisine.

    Top restaurants in Brasov:
📍La Ceaun - Piața Sfatului (the best one, everything we tried was amazing)
📍Bistro de l'Arte - Piața George Enescu 11Bis (great Romanian cuisine)
📍Restaurant - Le Petit Bistro - Strada Gherghe Barițiu 12 (delicious breakfast options and coffee)
    📍Ograda - Piața Sfatului 14, Brașov 500030, Romania
There's a lot of other places that we vidited and they had tasty food, but these stand out
Place that I would not reccomend visiting: Brasserie Luther on Piața Sfatului (looks amazing due to beautiful design but stuff is super rude)

I was born in Brașov before 1958 Brașov name was changed to Stalin city to celebrate the greatest dictator Stalin. That it did happen in 1950 by 1958 the city go back his original name. From 1989 Brașov changed imensily. Unfortunately the old buildings been demolished and new tower blocks been biuld. Same of the old buildings need restoration asp. I left Brașov in 1982 and never returned I left România in 1986 I never returned. Enjoy yourselves in this small beautiful city.

I hope you will be able to visit it again one day! So sad that beauty of Romanian cities was partly destroyed by dictatorship

Wow! Next summer we just chill it in Brasov, if the war in Ukraine doesn't escalate. The Norwegian Krone is just crap now, so we cannot take holidays in the EURO zone anymore. We stay in Brasov the whole holiday and just make excursions to the surrounding areas when we feel too. Too bad with the old buildings been torn down, being replaced by modernist eyesores!

Oh, summer in Brasov sounds amazing to be honest! I would also recommend visiting Sighișoara, haven't been there myself but my friends were amazed by that town

Why is it most of ex-Comnunist countries scenes look the same. Me, not interested.

Brasov city center, Peles or Bran definitely don’t look even close to typical communist architecture so I have no clue what you’re on about😅 But if we’re talking about communist type of architecture in different countries, well, communism is all about making everyone equally poor and miserable, bringing totalitarianism and dictatorship, so that’s not surprising that architecture is very depressing

I just visited Braşov. It looks nothing like a communist city, it is a medieval treasure trove, which this video beautifully captures.
