Every phone wins at something! Yay iPhone- more realistic true to life photos One Plus 5- Better accuracy blurring in portrait mode Samsung s8- more detailed photos with a lot of light
S8 cam makes you glow and look even more gorgeous than you already are if that was even possible. iphone 7 seems too sharp but s8 is better balance of soft to sharp ratio.
Sahil Pruthy I have not used it much this week. I charged it 100% after unboxing and just used it moderately for installing apps. I did use the Gear VR a couple of times and that required me to switch to qhd display. Overall, it took 2 complete days for the battery to come down to 20%. And then charging it back to 100% took around 30 minutes. I have been using it only with the default display resolution (FHD+) and switched to QHD only when I was using Gear VR.
John Sexton Agree with you. Tbh, I spent a lot of time (over a month) watching videos, opinions, research before deciding to buy S8. I had a really tough time choosing between S8 and 7 plus. Both are excellent. But in the end, I really couldn't find a strong enough reason to choose 7 plus over the new s8 with its amazing design and performance. Probably the iPhone 8 will be revolutionary.
I sold my S8+ and bought an iPhone 7, anyone even thinking if doing the same DONT. I regret it! You don't realise how amazing that screen and camera is until you don't have it. I'm now in the process of getting another S8+
I think it's a tie between Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7. The One Plus 5, despite the excitement there's around about it, is far behind the top camera phones. Those shaky videos and the lack of OIS are unacceptable in 2017!
Not far. It offers the best performance, the best battery life and the best battery charger. Camera is also amazing, it's just about preference. Updates are coming soon for the camera.
I don't know what camera or effects you use to record these videos but it's so dam good. I swear I watch some of your videos just solely for the video quality. Keep up the good work.
When it comes to brightness and vibrant backgrounds, there's a tough competition between S8 and 7 plus. But when low light is concerned, Galaxy S8 clearly does lot better.
Nice comparison, But didn't give it a thumbs up because you didn't compare shooting video in 1080p. Reviewers really should stop not showing 1080p samples. People mostly shoot in 1080p, not 4K.
natje04 I see, but since most people don't have 4K displays and also because of the fact that 4K footage takes up a lot of storage, they still shoot in 1080p.
Video compression works by cutting image into 8px x 8px blocks, later codec calculates differences between pixels in these blocks. If you will set higher bitrate then codec can write more differences between each pixels in these blocks (which will result in sharper image). Videos which are recorded by consumer devices like smartphones or DSLRs will record very compressed video because storage is slow (check price on CFast 2.0 cards which pro-grade cameras uses) and people have limited space on their phones and because of that you will lose A LOT of sharpness and detail. Another thing is Chroma Subsampling. 99% cameras and 100% smartphone cameras record at 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which means only 1 color in 4x4 block will be saved, and rest 3 pixels from this block are just interpolated from this one. Chroma subsampling is very noticable on patterns, textiles etc. Because of these 2 things theres no way to have sharp 1080p video. ONLY one exception is if you record RAW video file (cheapest raw video camera is Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera which sucks) because then you get information in every single pixel from 1080p video. In fact you can even notice difference between 6,5K and 4K compressed video when watching on 1080p screen!!! Its subtle, but you can still see it. Watch "The iPhone 6S Takes Better Video Than My Pro DSLR" on RUclips if you dont believe that 4K makes huge difference in terms of sharpness. tl;dr You wont get sharp 1080p video from smartphone.
Hi Krystal, I realy like your channel, especially your phone camera comparisons but i really appreciate all of your content and just keep doing what you are doing now! Have a nice day :)
Was HDR turned on for the low light pics too? Also, you forgot to compare 1080p video haha Will you make videos comparing the XZ Premium's camera too? Can't wait!
@Krystal Key, awesome video as always! Just one smaller, but not a minor point. The stabilization from the OnePlus 5 in 1080p videomode is certainly good, but it's in the 4K recording mode that it has severe issues. I think this will be fixed with a future software update.
Hi Krystal, really love your positive upbeat vibe in your reviews, great channel... I've just unboxed my OP5, so I'm starting out on OS build 458, with the updates & EIS on 4k, but to be honest it's nice to see some positive words on this phone as alot of people (forums & reviews) are bashing the camera a little hard.... but me, I like it... It's great, and as a candid photographer, so far, its getting the job done & manual mode is great to use.. keep up the great work 😀
Sorry but bokeh sucks on each and every one of them. First of all, it doesn't look all that natural itself, second of all, each and every one of them make mistakes - between the legs doesn't get blured, some sides don't get blured. And once you see those imperfections, your inner value suddenly drops so low that a traditional smartphone picture would be much better than these cheap attempts at mocking bokeh.
Nice comparison, expected results. No surprise for me here! What about HTC U11? I'm really looking forward for its comparison with S8 and iPhone. Good job!!!
the s8 has a better camera, better colors, more vibrant( basically the same thing) better burst shots, better slow motion video, better selfies, wide angle selfies to fit more people( lol fuck selfie sticks) better and faster focusing because of the dual pixel
but with the iPhone selfies, your head is so big in the frame, (again fuck selfies sticks cuz it makes you look a lol weird) when taking video, switching from a light tint to a darker tint is choppy and unprofessional, it has a hard time focusing on objects( no dual pixel) doesn't do as well with low light shots, etc
I've asked this so many times and no one can seem to give me a definite answer but does the 7 Plus have optical image stabilization for photos because when I look at the wide angle lens of my 7 Plus while in photo mode the camera doesn't move but it does move in video. Obviously it has optical image stabilization in video but what about for photos because mine doesn't seem to be working. Should I take it to the Apple Store?
I don't know if it's already mentioned, but some time ago, the oneplus 5 had a major update regarding the camera. One thing is the addition of stabilisation in videos using all the movement sensors in the device. It even works in 4k and also using the zoom lens, resulting in amazing video. Especially compared to for example the iPhone 7 plus.
Lorenzo Holley eye catching pics* Iphone takes the most realistic which is a good thing. You can edit Iphones pictures to make them look like the galaxys bet no turning back from the galaxy.
Lorenzo Holley the iPhone shows the real thing. When taking a picture with the s8 colors are way brighter than what they are in real life. So if you want a more realistic picture I phones the winner or if you want a more colorful and brighter picture choose Samsung. IMO I like a more realistic photo so I'll have to say iPhone.
That's a great video...hands down ❤ Can you perhaps make a camera test video between iphone 7 plus and the normal small iphone 7 .. i have been searching for a video like this for a couple of weeks and nobody has done sth like it. Thanks in advance 😁❤😉
Nice one Krystal... your videos are always full of energy.. would have liked to see the HTC U11 in this also or instead of the S8... the HTC is a closer comparison with the OP5 ...size screen and even the price . why does the S8 always get all this free advertising even when the HTC u11 may even have a better camera than the S8 .
iPhone battery life is disgusting for 2gb ram. It lasts 1hour of heavy usage and it doesn't even run heavy since it has only 2gb ram. Would never buy an iPhone ever again.
really great camera review like always but I do miss how you used to give a Crown to the favourite pic of yours it really helped me determine which one you really liked and then think why
All three cameras are great but I just don't like how Samsung softens faces and I don't like the Color of the skintones but I love the Sharpness of the s8,the 7 Plus is my favorite of them all because it can capture the skintones really good and I love the natural look but I understand that some people like the punchier colors of the s8 and 1+5 more,Great Video as always!👍🏽
For those saying that the s8 takes better pictures, please, go learn about photography, what this phone does is take darker images so that it can preserve sharpness and then it just blows the fucking colors. The iphone exposes the image correctly and doesn't change almost anything from it so you can edit the fotos exactly as you want them to be and it opens up a lot of possibilities with that extra 50mm lens and the portrait mode which works amazingly, the s8 "selective focus" is just ridiculous
I always enjoy your camera comparison Videos! As a girl I like the motives you chose because most youtubers just take photos of still objects. I just feel sorry for you when I read the comments because there are some creepy ones. I hope you know you have "normal" Viewers too. Anyways- I liked the s8 the most until you switched on Portrait mode. I really hope the next galaxy and Pixel get a dual camera too. Because in all other categories (especially low light) no other Smartphone can beat the s8 By the way- I'm German so sorry for any grammar and spelling mistakes!
However it is worth mentioning video stabilization in 1080P on Oneplus 5 is extremely smooth and well done, using EIS. Carl did promise it would come to 4k as well, but they didn't have enough time for launch. If that promise holds up, we can expect great 4K video on Oneplus 5 too. As of right now though, this video is accurate. Well done!
iPhone- consistent with everything, sharp selfies Samsung-low light, sharp video and good colors, overall best OnePlus- best daylight, also good slow motion videos, struggles when you down the lights and take a video in 4k

Krystal Key Your talking style💁, your eyes👩, your smile😊, your hair everything makes those phone camera better then they alrady are....
For you, when is the better photographic?
Krystal Key Hey Crystal ,that’s a Cycas tree not palm tree. These are living fossils.
Is your Father's Day giveaway announced?
No one does better smartphone camera comparisons than Krystal. Great video and thanks for the honest opinion.
Every phone wins at something! Yay
iPhone- more realistic true to life photos
One Plus 5- Better accuracy blurring in portrait mode
Samsung s8- more detailed photos with a lot of light
John Sexton The One Plus 5 portait mode is no were near as good and the i Phones 7 Plus
ONEWAYLEEWAY lol I agree I just felt bad for the one Plus since it lost in almost every category
Savva Moser ya not that cheap in India
Divyank Gupta but almost half the cost of s8 plus
Means:Galaxy Note 8 will beat all With dual Cameras!
I'm happy with my 3310. It takes much better photos
Hey Man does it record 4K? 😏
Onel Kamal I heard there is an option to record in 16k, it must be very special.
Daniel Braun you mean 32K smh
Dudes it records both in 16k and 32k but it's in 500fps and 1000fps respectively
I once dropped a nokia 3310 into a DanTDM and a Undertale video, never saw the 3310 again. Cancer is strong.
I'm a simple man.
Ulysses . Like how you don't even have to finish it
Ulysses, me too. I like them both.

S8 cam makes you glow and look even more gorgeous than you already are if that was even possible. iphone 7 seems too sharp but s8 is better balance of soft to sharp ratio.
Got my Galaxy S8 plus last week. No regrets at all. It's camera is undeniably the best. Especially in bright and vibrant backgrounds.
Zedd Riz i got mine 2 days ago , just wanted to know how many hours does the battery last with moderate usage ? and qhd+ display settings?
Zedd Riz k but iphone wins sales just saying but s8 is lovely too

Great in depth video Krystal... I'm interested in trying out the One Plus 5 myself..
I just think about if Samsung has 2 cameras..... Samsung is better than the iPhone.... I can't wait for a second camera on Samsung....
How does dbrand turn a profit if they sponsor everyone's goddamn videos
Because dbrand skins really have no material price, they also have near to no development costs, and still the skins cost more than a good case.
i commented your video with the lg g6 and now i see you have one with the one plus5 and htcu11 as well, you are amazing :-)

natje04 I see, but since most people don't have 4K displays and also because of the fact that 4K footage takes up a lot of storage, they still shoot in 1080p.
Nobody should shot in 1080p nowadays. Argument "most people have 1080p screens" is showing huge misunderstanding of how video compression works.

Didn't u see oneplus 5 video that was pure crap n shakes like someone is masterbating .
your video about cameras are the best. Always waiting for them. Great job. Greetings from Poland.
Galaxy S8 is still the best phone.
Lara Croft Best phone for lag 😉
and slowest
Jake Maybe so, doesn't mean it's slow. My S8 manages daily use perfectly and I don't any more speed than this.
Jere Kreivilä same man my s8+ works excellent

exactly.
Please do a video comparing honor 9 with the oneplus 5's camera...
htc u11 ?.
Did you switch to HQ when shooting in lowlight on the OnePlus 5? If not, you should have. HQ does help with lowlight photos on the OnePlus 5.
Galaxy S8 seems to take the best pics.
Lorenzo Holley eye catching pics* Iphone takes the most realistic which is a good thing. You can edit Iphones pictures to make them look like the galaxys bet no turning back from the galaxy.

Uhmmmm portrait mode?? LMAOOO 😂😂
That's a great video...hands down ❤ Can you perhaps make a camera test video between iphone 7 plus and the normal small iphone 7 .. i have been searching for a video like this for a couple of weeks and nobody has done sth like it. Thanks in advance 😁❤😉
The conclusion is, imo: The OnePlus 5 sits comfortably between the IPhone and the S8.
The lack of OIS is a letdown for sure.
RCSantos wouldn't that mean that it would have to be better than one of them?
Well In the low light tests it would be a whole different story.
Thank you for sharing this with us Krystal. Keep up the great work!
you always make me love Samsung phones.
thank you kristal..

forget the s8 should've been one plus 5 vs iPhone 7 plus vs pixel
Because the S8 is the best anyway. I agree.
hey! Has apple figured out those light stutters while shooting videos on I phone 7 or not yet ??
S8 single cam > ip7 & Op5 Dual cam
On average how many of each picture do you take on each phone? You mentioned that you took 6 of one of the low light on the OP5.
she just cant hide being an apple fan 😅
Aditya k everyone is apple fan once you use it you feel it there a bug reason why 8gb ram shit phone cant beat iphone 2gb 😂 but whats with you poor ??
iPhone battery life is disgusting for 2gb ram. It lasts 1hour of heavy usage and it doesn't even run heavy since it has only 2gb ram. Would never buy an iPhone ever again.

really great camera review like always but I do miss how you used to give a Crown to the favourite pic of yours it really helped me determine which one you really liked and then think why

Krystal bringing that 🔥
nice detailed reviews as always :)
I think the S8 has the best camera!
Deon Spates no iphone 7 plus
For me oneplus is hopeless. The iPhone and Samsung are great, but if I were to break, I would chose S8 :D
Great comparative video of the cameras! Congratulations. bye
i just subscribed not because of the phones or whatsoever. its because of krystal.
can you help me that one plus 5t vs I phone 7 plus camera test which one is good
S8 is better
In the iPhone 7 vs Galaxy s8 every photo of the iPhone looked dim why are they good now?
galaxy s8 always the best
would yo like yo test HTC u11 camera? thanks
galaxy s8
Hey Krystal! Why aren't you reviewing the HTC U11? That'd be a great phone to do a camera comparison with.
Where is the htc u11. Always underrated htc 😑😑
S8 is better tho
Can you test these devices again after the 4k stabilization on Oneplus 5 with new OS.
Did the nice rack comment just get deleted? Lul
it has been comfirmed that the oneplus 5's 4k EIS will be fixed in a futue update
s8 camera is best only one camera
do u have oneplus 5 with white stone skin?

Great video!

Well done!
iPhone 7 Plus (2016) has better photos against current cell phones (2017) 😀😎🙂

and fails against the Google pixel (2016) 😅
The s7 is better than the iPhone and the 2 are from 2016

cutest tech reviewer on RUclips! ;D as always was so fun to watch it!
iPhone 7 Plus is the best 👍
I think it's pretty sad that the DXO king, the HTC U11 wasn't even featured.. Or tried in any camera comparison
I ‘m waiting for your 1+5 video for a long time.I'm so happy to watch your video.
Why didnt you try the HTC U11?
iPhone- consistent with everything, sharp selfies
Samsung-low light, sharp video and good colors, overall best
OnePlus- best daylight, also good slow motion videos, struggles when you down the lights and take a video in 4k
I have watched smartphones cameras comparison everywhere on the RUclips none of them close to you great job
Just one thing to note here.
Oneplus has EIS stabilization in FullHD, which is pretty good in other tests. And 4K EIS is coming in a future update.
No HTC U11 review?
