    Cool interview. My favorite moment was when they started talking about the Bakersfield country style and Keith seemed to be trying to remember the song Far Away Eyes, but instead said maybe it was Indian Girl, a mistake that no Stones fan could ever come even close to making. Yet another reminder that the artists spend a whole lot less time obsessing about their back catalogues than the rest of us do.

    I remember buying this magazine and I still have it. I actually credit it with showing me the true musical spirit of these guys instead of the usual way they were represented in the media. Really great to hear it now

    Listening to this just makes you realise how well read Keith is musically and that’s the difference from The Back Thens to the here nows, if you know what I mean 😉

    Damn, this is golden. Thank you.
    I just love the VL/B2B Keith. He seemed so open, elegant and switched on.
    For anyone who perhaps hasn't - listen to the VL B-Sides. So great.

    Thanks for presenting this with a short introduction before letting the entire interview uninterrupted. Nicely down - i'd never heard this before. 😃

    WOW, one of the best Keith interviews I've ever heard, MAN, he knew Louis started on the cornet and later switched to Trumpet 😮

    Another wonderful aspect of this interview is that it's told in the same manner as in his autobiography "Life", in 2010. One lends credibility to the other.

      It's just Keith being Keith. Life isn't really anything more than Keith interviews noted down.

      @samil5601 A better book is Stone Alone by Bill Wyman. 1990. Keiths is a good book, but Bill's is blatantly honest and very good. Also Andrew Loog Oldham's 2 books, Stoned and 2 Stoned. All were written before Life by Keith. You can see where he lifted some stories from. But Life is still a good book. And some of those interviews you mention came out after Life was published in 2010. But actually they are all worth reading. Merry Christmas/Happy Boxing Day! 🎅

      @robertwilliams533 Yes, they're all good books and it is interesting to hear the same story from different sources.
      My comment on Life was just about the style of writing being exactly the same as any Keith interview. I think the book might have benefitted from a bit more editing, but it is a great read even if it comes across a bit clichéd stylistically. Trust that was a conscious decision, too.

      @@samil5601 It's more anecdotal while Bill Wyman's is more factual. Keith points that out in Life, that Bill was super analytical. First of the Stones to get a computer! 😃 But I enjoy them all.

      Voodoo Lounge is a solid album, thru and thru. Not a bad song there. x

    • @samil5601
      @samil5601 16 дней назад

      No, but amongst the worst of them for sure for the sheer inconsistency.
      Bigger Bang, Dirty Work and Satanic Majesties are generally even worse as far as song quality is concerned.
