    Caller says this particular villain makes "weird" moves against him like raise the flop with middle-pair ace-kicker, and raise with a backdoor flush draw... meanwhile, depending on the flop, position, and situation; these are solver-approved moves!
    Perhaps this villain is better than caller thinks he is.

    I think with Villain's line vs our action, and obviously with the benefit of hindsight, it feels like his most likely holding is some mix of big diamonds, KQ KJ QJ. With an out of position aggressor, he can just call our bets with a bigger draw or some AX, and once he bricks out but we check on this board, he really does have a great spot for a bluff. The "head shake, muck" also eliminates a lot of AX hands since I would think SOME of those expect to possibly be good SOMETIMES and would still showdown. Aside from K/Q/J9d or 99, I don't expect he's got a lot of 9's too often that are following this action. Most of the non-diamond-9X combos are gonna fold out either pre or on the flop. When he "calls pretty quickly" on the turn, I'd expect these open-ended combo draws to maybe think for some amount of time about a raise/jam, but just something like KQd with just a gutshot for straight may flat. I could also see something double-gutted WITHOUT either flush like QJs calling quickly since they don't really have a hard river decision.

    The awesome double flat preflop has the villains hand pretty face up as a middling hand and not a premium. Alot of J10 kinda hands n small pairs. On flop, bet 1/4 to 1/3 for cheap info and get small pairs to fold. If you are raised on flop its a fold, but if you're just called, villains range is 1 pair max. On turn blanks, you can fire 1.5x pot or so and everything that didn't improve from flop to turn should fold. If you bet 1/2 pot to pot on turn, alot of mediocre hands still call. This can be more profitable if river is another blank and you fire big on river. TID on turn

    I'm at the point in the video where the 6c river card was shown. I don't know what the villain's hand is. I just know he called a 3-Bet preflop and hasn't been aggressive, so he probably doesn't have premium hole cards. He could have a lot of made hands here and he could have a lot bluffs here as well. I'd check call this river ten out ten times, but I'm not liking it. Now I'm going to click play and see what happened.

    I was setting in my massage chair listening to this the whole time thinking villain has KdXd probably KQ or KJ. And after the reveal I'd bet $1000 that's what villain had. I have so many fishy players like this in my room. They don't 3 bet pre with a lot of hands that should. Then when they hit a big draw, they just call until it lands. I bet heavy vs these guys and just fold when the main draw hits. Since this villain called the flop bet I'd say clubs are in his hand a lot less often. Yeah if he has KQc he might call a small flop bet then always continue on the turn for such a huge size. But I think it's less often.

  • @Gos1234567
    @Gos1234567 Месяц назад

    I think turn is better to either rip or bet small,this pot size bet leaves you with awkward pot size for river and you won’t get draws folding
    Bet small can induce a wild shove bluff from v and it can gove ya room to bet small /fold on river if horrible card comes

    Is there an MDF consideration here? I thought both caller & Bart discussed pretty thoroughly why we don't think villain has TT or 88. If we are not worried about those hands, the hero has the equivalent of AA on river. Perhaps the AA with a club is better because it blocks villain from having AXcc. But would AA no club really be a "hero call" here?

    • @Badbentham
      @Badbentham Месяц назад +1

      Villain was characterized as loose-passive; so he could have about the same amount of TT/88 as we do. (We may sometimes flat from the SB with 77-TT as well) - However, a typical double-flat range is often fairly condensed (medium pockets , suited broadways) , while we additionally have a wide variety of Ax and (smaller) SCs, if that makes sense. 😉

    • @TheGuyCalledX
      @TheGuyCalledX Месяц назад +1

      Easy. The double flatter should have a narrower, condensed range compared to the 3-bettor. So even if they have the same number of combos of sets, they will make up a larger portion of villain's range

    • @Mr.Muckington
      @Mr.Muckington Месяц назад

      @@TheGuyCalledX again with the gto land range. Dude double flatty preflop.... his range prolly has more suited connectors then pairs. Perfect spot to flat pre, great odds, good hand multiway with a high spr.

    Here's a classic case of the "theorists" diving so deep they lose sight of common sense. Yes, hitting a lower set on the Turn feels so, so good. But look at all the cards that destroy you on the River. Hero betting Pot on Turn was a little greedy (and almost transparent)

    • @joewhite9475

      it really dosent matter if he appears to be transparent. nobody is putting you on a turned set on the turn. also it's 2-3 so getting value from flush draws on the turn and giving them a bad price is the move in my opinion
