@@leif1075 Honey no, F2 is like a male singer's note. Their low notes are around in the 3rd octave but Aretha had reached G#2. There are some singers that have reached lower than Mariah though like Miley Cyrus.

TheMissileMiner I am a tenor. I can hit F2 (even E2 on a good day), but it’s a really difficult for me, that note is weak and unsupported...so everybody has a different type of voice, you can’t say “its pathetic” when guy/girl can’t sing some note...🤷♂️

She gets a lot of heat for this as she often lowers her larynx to reach these notes (and she needs to change that obviously) but given she's a light lyric soprano and that (not consistant;y) she has supported Bb2s before, I feel her lower range is slept on, especially in the lower 3rd octave

I love Manriah's low voice.
I've sang as low as a C#1 and slid down to a C1; my highest chest note is a Bb3 and my highest falsetto is an A4 with an exclamation of a G#6. This woman can make any register perfect! I'm jealous.
I can hit a B1 and go to G5 falsetto, have trouble in any 6th octave
Lows: G2 (F2 rarely)
Belting: A5/Bb5
Head voice: A5/B5

@eliass If she were mezzo her lowest not would F3-F#3. But she sings D3 and lower. Her C5 is head register. For mezzo head register starts from D#5-E5.

She can hit low notes like a mezzo and also her highest comfortable range in belt is E5/F5 and F#5 in good days. And meezo highest comfy range were E5 AND F5 in good days. But still indicates that she's a mezzo soprano. And her passagio starts at A5. Most mezzo sopranos passagio starts at F#5/G5. Most sopranos their passagio starts at Bb5 or B5. And soprano's highest comfort range would be G5/G#5. In Conclusion Mariah is a trained mezzo soprano with extended range.

tbh, most of those lower than D3 are practically inaudible. the lowest I'd give her is maybe a C3, but not a bloody F3. I couldn't hear F3-B3 at all.

@@Kurdyukov87pianist Mariah Carey is a light-lyric coloratura soprano with an exceptional (almost supernatural) ability to sing notes lower than would usually be possible for her voice type! She is obviously a soprano because when she sings higher in her range, her voice sound more "free". You can hear this really clearly in her debut era all the way to at least 2005, with her voice continuing to have that quality. The only reasons why her voice may not seem to have that quality now is because of aging, pregnancy, not getting enough rest and over touring, damaging her voice some what. All of that can stress someone's voice throughout their career.

In her prime she supported down to D3 and belts up to G5 and head voice up to D6. So D3-G5-D6 (3 octaves) of supported range. I think she also supported a B2 but im not sure.

Ariana Greedy Sing your lowest note that you can without any struggling and just slowly and gradually improve from there. Your vocal chords are like muscles, it can be stretched and strengthened. You just gotta put in the time, effort, hard work, and patience. Don’t just jump to low larynxed low notes immediately. That’s a tad bit unhealthy.
