Ned Kelly’s last words were ‘Such is life’. Many believe that the last utterance by Ned Kelly just before his hanging were three simple word, ‘Such is life’. Whether uttered with weary resignation or an acceptance of misfortune, the notion that the quote is attributed to Ned Kelly survives today (even inspiring one or two tattoos!) But what Ned Kelly actually said as his last words is uncertain. Some newspapers at the time certainly reported the words ‘Such is life’, while a reporter standing on the gaol floor wrote that Ned’s last words were, ‘Ah well! It’s come to this at last.’ But one of the closest persons to Ned on the gallows, the gaol warden, wrote in his diary that Kelly opened his mouth and mumbled something that he couldn’t hear. We will never know exactly what Ned’s last words were - such is life.

@Adversary American Debatable, I'd say the chaos on the Victorian Gold Fields and the California Gold Fields was equally as bad.
Remember in year 6 we learnt about Ned Kelly xD
Australians would know. Massive debate saying if he was a hero or criminal
I'm not Australian, but from what I've seen I'm going to have to lean towards "hero". If the Victoria Police during Mr. Kelly's day were even 25% as corrupt and Squatter-aligned as sources portray then his killings would have been morally justified.
I did it in year 3

As an Aussie, Ned Kelly was a legend and our robin hood!
Silly, uninformed comment.
@@bradwilliams7212 Really? Want to elaborate on how my comment is uninformed?
@@mnix4615 Most certainly. Firstly, murderers do not qualify as legends.
Secondly, Ned Kelly never gave anything to the poor, and that included his own mother and sisters. While he lived the high life from the proceeds of his criminal activities, his mother and sisters remained in poverty. Ned Kelly robbed extensively from poor settlers, often stealing their work horses in the dead of night, effectively sending many bankrupt.
Ned Kelly's sisters were seen in Benalla dressed in rags. A police officer saw their plight and collected money from locals, which he gave to the local storekeeper, so they could have clothes and food. You are in fact very uninformed as to the true story.
If you claim otherwise, show us your evidence to support your comments. I know you will not return, as there is no evidence to support yourt comment.

Robin Hood? Ned Kelly did not even give money to his mother and sisters, when he was living the high life from his criminal proceeds.
His sisters were seen in Benalla dressed in rags. A police officer collected money from locals, which he gave to the store-keeper, so they could at least buy clothes and food.
Ned Kelly NEVER gave anything to the poor. He robbed from poor settlers extensively, often taking their only work horse's sending them bankrupt.
Your understanding of Ned Kelly is abysmal.
@@bradwilliams7212 No, Ned Kelly was a legend for his time. Standing up against the corrupt police force, pushing for lower class equality for his attacks and being against the corrupt police, I would say Ned Kelly is a legend.

Ned Kelly’s last words were ‘Such is life’.
Many believe that the last utterance by Ned Kelly just before his hanging were three simple word, ‘Such is life’. Whether uttered with weary resignation or an acceptance of misfortune, the notion that the quote is attributed to Ned Kelly survives today (even inspiring one or two tattoos!)
But what Ned Kelly actually said as his last words is uncertain.
Dean Ned Kelly NEVER uttered those words on the gallows. Made up by a journalist to embellish his story. Total fiction.
Ned Kelly's last words were NOT 'Such is Life."
This video has explained the story of Ned Kelly 10x better than the book and movie made recently.
