Bring Me The Horizon are so versatile musically, that there will inevitably be songs that you love and other songs that dont work for you at all. Maybe try songs like Ludens, sugar honey ice and tea, 1x1 or mantra... I think these will rather float your boat.
I usually don’t comment much on videos, but after watching this video I had to say how much I love this channel. You guys are one of the very few channels that keep it real when it comes to reactions. If the track doesn’t vibe with you, you’re straight up about it but still acknowledge the music and craftsmanship of the song. Much respect to you guys, keep doing your thing! Also, I’d love to see you guys react to Bad Omens. A song like “The Death of Peace of Mind” would be a good first listen. Be well!
This is definitely a song not for everyone, but at the same time if you're a fan of BMTH and stuck around after the deathcore/metal era, then you definitely grow into this song while listening to it. I'd say, check out "Follow You" for a poppy but still heavy (lyrically) song or "Mantra" for a CRAZY rock/arena/singalong song or "Teardrops" for a really cool nu-metal/linkin park sound. Anything from BMTH (except their first deathcore album) is fair game and has something amazing put into their music that makes them by far one of the greatest bands to exist today.
I mean even Count Your Blessings has Pray for Plagues which is a deathcore classic. Only album of theirs I really just can't stand is That's the Spirit. Just doesn't sound like BMTH to me. Was a weird transition period between sounds.
I can't even call myself a casual BMTH fan, but i like this song, I relate to it and it's just whatever. but I think their absolute best song is Itch For The Cure/Kingslayer. gotta listen to them both together
Men, I knew from the beginning that this song may not be your cup of tea, I agree that this is most likely to be for a certain public, but damn I gotta respect the way you spoke about it, I've been a fan of yours for the last couple of years, been a Fan fo BMTH since I was 16 years old (now 28) and I just confirmed my respect for both of you guys. Hope you guys React to more BMTH tho! there are some bangers that I think you guys will Enjoy.
I’m definitely not a fan of BMTH Orek, but I like the way you put your message across. You seem to understand very clearly that we all have different taste’s, & that’s a good thing. Good on you young fella, that’s a great trait you possess, it will get you far in life 👍.
They up their sound. They were super heavy back in the mid 2000’s. Now they are spreading out their range, Oli has an amazing voice, clean and screaming. Gotta listen to Ludens by Bring me the Horizon. It is definitely a good blend. Thank you for reacting to this song! It gives us MCR Vibes for sure!
That's the Spirit & POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR is where they struck gold in my opinion. Amazing songs and energy. Big production and epic sound scapes.
@@NR-iw4sp Little bit too unhinged lyrically and musically for me. Aleast from when I heard it though. Maybe I need to dive back in there to find it is atleast as good as my favorites. Idk, not as of a easy listen.
BMTH is a very interesting band to me. I think of them as a Gateway Band. They're aimed at a much younger generation - Gen Z, Y, Alpha - and have a hard metal edge mixed with familiar, radio-friendly pop sensibilities and song structure, letting those who've never heard/tried heavier music before feel comfortable while still giving them a taste of a whole new frontier of music. I think I'm a bit too old for some of their stuff, but they still have some hits I can jive with in my 30s, and they're definitely talented musicians and know how to write a song and especially a hook. I feel like their most impressive performance is the Royal Albert Hall version of "Doomed", which really shows what they can do when they focus in, but I think they fill a very important niche in music that'll bring a lot of young people into unknown lands and inspire heavy musicians of the future. I always felt Bullet For My Valentine and Sum 41 were the BMTH of my generation growing up, so it's nice to see the space isn't going unoccupied today.
Thinking of the mass pop appeal of this song, mixed with the surface level themes of hopelessness it brings gives me such a weird feeling. Guess I'm just getting older.
I was just thinking if by any chance you were going to react to this song and now your video just popped up!! Crazy lol This song is really cool, my favorite single they've released so far. And that chorus is HUGEEEE Salute to y'all, keep doing what you're doing
I relate to this so much. So many medicines coping mechs and therapy sessions with little help. But little is better than none. This was my mental health anthem for 2023.
A lot more variety out there from them that I would call far from cheesy. I would continue to check them out a bit more. Something off of Post Human Survival Horror would be my recommendation.
I never dealt with serious depression until I lost my dad to a heart attack, followed by my mom to ovarian cancer, and then my partner of 10 years broke up with me. I had since been diagnosed with Major Depression Disorder which includes not only therapists, but being dicked around with a bunch of different prescriptions. I've been dealing with grief, mortality, and sheer loneliness so these sort of "cringey emo" songs that I used to hate hits a little different nowadays.

Extremely diverse band. Anything around 2004-2014 (it's actually a greatest hit album) as the band was pretty much done in regard to the metalcore-deathcore. Ever since then, I would say Thats The Spirit was basically their entry into mainstream, amo was straight up experimental rock, post human survival kind of went back to what they were before That's The Spirit but not as heavy or metal-core. As for their upcoming album as far as the listen I have gotten, it does come off as punk-emo type of vibe. So pretty much BMTH is one of the few bands in the music world today that have ventured into 5-6 different genres of music and have excelled in all of them. To me they are one of the most diverse bands in the world.
BMTH is a weird band. I love them, and I respect how often they change musical direction. At the same time, there are songs like this that I'm happy to never hear again. haha!
I’m a casual fan of this band and what I will say is this song is an intentional throwback to early 2000’s emo/punk. They have other songs that intentionally sound like other genres and styles because they’re very versatile. Again, not a big fan but I do like a bunch of their songs and I am always impressed how different their songs have sounded these last few albums.
Yeah it's got a lot of elements of Hyperpop. It's a new genre emerging, it's slowly growing in size. It's basically very saccharine sounds with a dark/gothic undertone. Like, Imagine if metal or emo wore bright colours and sparkles.
I was rewatching some videos from 2019 where they mentioned introducing THE playlist , did they ever do it ? 😂 burning question Tbh i stopped listening to BMTH a couple albums ago so it’s cool to have “ first listens “ with the channel
It's like a mix of Fox Stevenson and Wolves at the Gate. Now, onto other bands •Hopesfall •The Ocean •Misery Signals •Bleeding Through •Wolves at the Gate •Breaking Orbit •Alexisonfire •Refused •Converge •Thrice
If you ever give these guys another shot, I'd highly recommend Crucify Me or Don't Go from there best album "There is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let's Keep it a Secret" or Chelsea Smile and The Sadness Will Never End from "Suicide Season"... or you can go back to their deathcore roots and be subject to the scene classic Pray for Plagues!
You guys should definitely try something off Amo like "why you gotta kick me when I'm down?," "In the Dark," or "nihilist blues." The whole album is solid. There's even a track featuring Rahzel on it, if you're looking for a bit of a blast from the past.
As someone who grew up with metal and listen to most things, I never really been a fan of BMTH. However, some of their recent songs that I dig, that are not cringy, too emo or too poppy, are Parasite Eve, In the Dark, and Sugar Honey Ice & Tea. Having followed you since the start, I really think you would like those three songs. For me, they are way groovier than most of their other stuff. So I recommend checking out: Parasite Eve, In the Dark, and Sugar Honey Ice & Tea.
As someone who was a fan of their old work, I really think you should go back to memory lane to get the perspective of the band. Right now you have listened to their pop/alternative catalogue which don't have the same identity as their old stuff, not saying it's bad, it's just more generic. That said I think that Happy Song is probably their greatest song. But I think you should listen to these most def as they are kind of landmark (getting big recognition/breakthrough) songs for the band: Shadow Moses, Chelsea Smile, Pray for Plagues. Shadow Moses is similar to some of the stuff you've heard but also kind of a bridge between new and old. Chelsea Smile they reached a new huge audience and change style from their Deathcore origins which BMTH was one of the pioneering bands (which just that I think tells you to listen to their first stuff). Pray for Plaugue is that song and what make the band breakthrough. Other personal recommendations are: Visions and Suicide Season Visions is just a song that I think would be nice to have from another album you haven't listened to and Suicide Season might be my favorite song with Happy Song (The difference of titles lol), but it's more progressive one might say and something that you might like. In general I don't expect you to be big fans of the old songs, but who knows they are less generic and missing that pop feel a lot more, so might be something. But it is at least just a really fun journey to go through, not a lot of bands have transitioned this far from their origins I would say.
i think you guys would much prefer thier songs from the album AMO, specifically nihilist blues, sugar honey iced tea, wonderful life and why you gotta kick me when im down and also maybe even ludens from phsh, they get away from the emo elements a lot and go for more collage like production and artsy stuff, genuinely interesting production and vibe
The one thing no one can accuse BMTH of doing is recycling their sound. Ever since Sempiternal, every album/EP have been a different sound. Their “Post Human” EP has all their sounds in one.
First time I heard this song, I didn't like it. It was way too poppy. But then I realized the lyrics were down and it was meant to illustrate the highs and lows of drug use/depression. Definitely one of my favs now, up there with Kingslayer.
As much as I and just about every other bmth fan love shadow moses, I really feel like its kinda out of the scope of something these guys enjoy, despite the recommendations, maybe im putting them in a box, but that song is on the way heavier side of things they listen to, so i feel like its more then likely something they wouldnt like, just for how heavy it is, if they did do it, it would be an interesting reaction, but i wouldnt count on them to love it as a song
they're starting to leave my palate with this style of emo/pop punk verse... but up to here, i've really dug their foray into a pop rock sound parasite eve, 1x1, in the dark, mantra, i don't know what to say, follow you
@@zealvalharriah9723 i don't mind some emo/pop punk bands like story of the year and new found glory, etc. but this style feels more like punk-inspired pop for tiktok than actual pop punk - olivia rodrigo and willow lol there are a lot of different directions bmth can take, but i hope they come back to the darker moody melodic style

I liked the song but I do see what you mean about it idk much about this band this is the second song I’ve listened to from them I would love to know what you guys think about the first song from them I listened too called Teardrops that song was awesome to me I’d love to see a reaction on that one.
This sound has an 8bit gaming soundtrack feel to it … I would describe it as a filler song for the live performances …no a headliner song …but part of the experience of seeing BMTH … it needs a follow up song called Your Results May Vary … OR this is a very weak Green Day song …I’m still deciding …😮
Parasite eve Its a real musical compositional experience. Its really harnesses their real sound. Im a die hard bmth fan and if theres any song id show someone to really understand the sound of my favorite band id show them parasite eve.
It's the Third Eye-Blind Semi-Charmed Life chasm...Happy Song, Dark Lyrics...BMTH RUNS the gamet when it comes to Genre's usually, Metal/______....This one being Pop/Metal. This song took a while to grow on me, I was also put-off by the pop elements.
This sounds like it would have been on iCarly show or something. I'm just to old for this style of music. Ryan hit on the cringy vocal style. It sounds too much like a cartoon montage song
Respect for being clear about it not being your demographic. I'm nearly 32 and while I can enjoy this song I do feel myself tipping toward that feeling of "I'm not in the demographic for this and that's pretty clear". I am happy for the emo crowd getting a bit of a resurgence though since the genre had mostly died out for a while there.
Recently got into them but wasn't really feeling this song. You guys should check out "Strangers" or "Teardrops", those two are probably up your alley and are better representations of the band imo.
You’re picking all the more poppy songs from them. It’s alright but try something like Doomed or Sleepwalking if u want something different but not too heavy. They’re just all over the place, from deathcore initially to experimental edm like Nihilist Blues. The latest singles are voluntarily very pop punk throwback and emo inspired so it would be a shame to only have that idea of the band given their path.
big fan of bmth but not so much lost. the video for this was absolutely nuts but I like teardrops parasite eve doomed and others much much more. I would again say react to doomed live at the royal albert hall. Choir, band, whole 9
Yes please, something everyone can appreciate musically. Nothing against this band, but you have to be a fan of this band to like this music. Clearly not for me.
Y’all would be shocked if you hear their old stuff… now that will be a priceless reaction
😂 I would have to agree, old bmth would shock them to...I don't even know another universe like...lol
Antivist would be a good start.
WTF is this lol, holy shit its a by the numbers pop song, sounds like justin beiber or something, awful.
She starts her new diet, of liquor and dick.
@michaelp7425 nah not even, alligator blood or diamonds aren't forever or pray for plagues
Shadow Moses & Sleepwalking are my favorite BMTH songs, Kingslayer would be a good reaction too
Shadow Moses for sure. Probably their best song honestly.
Shadow Moses 100%. Mantra as well.
Also Map Change by Every Time I Die

BMTH my fav since 2010.

What's up! I live in Vegas too. Love seeing Vegas people on RUclips. Liked and subscribed
Wow. They really went full blown early My Chemical Romance with that chorus.
I think it’s very inspired by I’m not okay, and Helena by my chemical romance.
The song structure, lyrics, even chords.
Dude, not even close. I'm not okay just plain rules whereas this, I don't know. Very (and I mean VERY) generic. BMTH can do much better.

Parasite eve
Its a real musical compositional experience. Its really harnesses their real sound. Im a die hard bmth fan and if theres any song id show someone to really understand the sound of my favorite band id show them parasite eve.
How about take a listen to Of Mice And Men - Instincts. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the musicianship and the vocals.
Oh man I would love it so much if they listened to (I Used To Make Out With) Medusa. Show them some heavy BMTH
you should do new songs from them, but from the last EP they released, these last three singles i dont think is your vibe, neither mine
Okay, now we need the NEW new track. AmEN goes so hard!
You guys should check out the new BMTH single: AmEN!
Def like the 2 previous albums. Not sure about the direction with this song, but they at least trying diff stuff.
If you liked this, you gotta check out "Girlfriend" by Kabbageboy.
Honestly, I think you guys should listen to some My Chemical Romance. I think they might be the turning point for you on this style of music.
I’m shocked you guys haven’t reacted to Chelsea Smile.
Colombia House had my one cent back in the day so I could overpay for this cassette
You should react to something from their first album or Suicide Season!!
How come these guys didn't react to doomed love at royal Albert hall
Ghae rock
Very accurate reaction
KINGSLAYER
Please review Blue and Yellow by The Used, very underrated but amazing band
Recently got into them but wasn't really feeling this song. You guys should check out "Strangers" or "Teardrops", those two are probably up your alley and are better representations of the band imo.
You’re picking all the more poppy songs from them. It’s alright but try something like Doomed or Sleepwalking if u want something different but not too heavy. They’re just all over the place, from deathcore initially to experimental edm like Nihilist Blues. The latest singles are voluntarily very pop punk throwback and emo inspired so it would be a shame to only have that idea of the band given their path.
When I saw this upload I just laughed at how much you guys would dislike this song 😅
big fan of bmth but not so much lost. the video for this was absolutely nuts but I like teardrops parasite eve doomed and others much much more. I would again say react to doomed live at the royal albert hall. Choir, band, whole 9
Death my landmvrks please, heavy metal core with some mild hip hop influence
do Crucify Me next
Time for some Tool fellas. It’s been a year almost. We need staples and talent.
Yes please, something everyone can appreciate musically. Nothing against this band, but you have to be a fan of this band to like this music. Clearly not for me.
I can't lie, I made it through about 8 measures before I had to cut it. Just can't do it.
I like some BMTH songs. This isn’t one of them. Whenever you guys get back around to BMTH listen to Shadow Moses. My favorite song of theirs.
