Loved this season, not as much as last season but howay PSG 4-1 and we finally got to batter the Mackems.. I was so confident we’d get Europa league but that’s football, howay City🙏

I think Howe was just disappointed that Kylie & Jason weren't on set, which was the last time he watched neighbours or any TV show
Probably a good season if you have season tickets but on the whole it’s been very frustrating and disappointing for me.
It’s like the 96/97 season when we bought Shearer and then got distinctly worse. I just hope our future is brighter.

Got back to my digs after the All Stars game, travelled half way across the planet, paid good money for flights, accommodation, tickets, time and not a single first team regular played. Hopefully lessons learned, how can we fly the flag for brand NUFC by playing the under 21s squad against their premier league XI

@@charlotterobson7015as a Toon fan, currently on 48 years since I walked up those steps, past the stinking bogs into the Gallowgate as a 10 year old, I’ve been weaned on mediocrity (barring the Keegan era) don’t think a little 8-0 thrashing even washed over the surface 😂, roll on next season. (A true mags ever repeating mantra 😊)

I know that we fielded 11 youngsters and Gillespie in goal, but that was just embarrassing! To be beaten 8-0 (could have been 10-0 if they didn't have 2 ruled offside) is truly a Howe fuck up of the greatest magnitude - he's embarrassed us, the supporters, the club itself, the city, the region and I bet the mackems are laughing their dirty socks off right now.
Not to play any of the senior squad was another fuck up by Eddie. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for his head on a platter - although some will - but it was a major tactical mistake when trying to raise the profile of the club around the world. I know there was nothing on the line today, no points, no trophies, no advancement in a competition, but boy did they miss a huge chance to promote Newcastle United to the millions of unwashed and bolster local support downunder.
Some heads will roll in the squad that lost today and although they're young and have their careers in front of them, I hope they remember today with shame for the rest of their lives and try that much harder in future.

Does the kids v. Oz-all-stars prove categorically that Eddie was right not to trust the kids and to soldier on with the same 13 for the 10 games in 30 days?

This is why you mix in the senior players with the youth and not send them out to be lambs to the slaughter. I don’t care if it’s the Aussie/kiwi league they are seasoned professionals and levels above academy players
If you through a season never ever get a chance, even when your teammates are monumentally underachieving or are just plain playing with injuries, can you really expect those young ones to be ready when thrown into the deep end, en masse? And no, Howes 85+ minute subs do not count as getting valuable first team experience. Either we have already lost or already won when he dared to gamble on anyone else than Dummett/Ritchie.
Its my one big worry with Howe, and one i hope he proves me wrong on next season. We got into the UCL being the team with practicly no injures letting him play the same team again and again. That turned into an injuryfarce this year, playing injured people and seemingly completely unable to take a gamble on some people on the bench. Can you imagine what Joe White must have been thinking at times, seeing Longstaff be just a shadow of himself for half a season, and you never ever get the inkling of a chance?
I hear what you're saying but I still think that it shows our academy is light years behind. Also worrying that, imho the best player on the pitch ( our side) was Diallo and we're letting him go!
