    What happens when you go to high beams? Longer beam? Brighter? Im soo close to buying these, thats my last question.

    • @PantherLights
      @PantherLights  2 года назад +3

      Sure, ask as many questions as you need to.
      There are two stacks of LED diodes on the bulb. When activating the high beam, the second set of LEDs illuminate, in turn moving the beam pattern upward. These do have a true high beam, unlike many other LEDs on the market these days.

  • @Gooney87

    Thanks for pointing these out. Like many, I find that the headlights on my Vic suck. I did the relay mod, and while it helped a bit it's still not great.
    Anyway, what 'color' are these? My Vic is 100% stock, and having really white/blue LED lights would look out of place on the car. Are these stark white or a more warmer white? Does it say anywhere what color temperature these things are? Thanks!

    GTR lighting are the best no doubt about it. But what you are using is an aftermarket headlight for a Crown Victoria which does give a shitty being pattern if you use the original from Ford you get a much better Bean pattern and that I know for a fact. Even though they cost a little bit more money OEM is much much better then aftermarket.

    • @PantherLights
      @PantherLights  2 года назад

      Oh I completely agree. From my experience, the DEPO brand, is by far the least "shitty" in terms of overall quality when comparing to the original OEM housings.

    So, In stock form with halogens lighting on crown Vic’s is so bad you can run your high beam as low beam in most cases on the highway without any fuss from oncoming traffic or flashing etc. There’s a highway in New York that stretches pretty far from near NYC up to I believe Massachusetts. It’s notorious for its twists and turns, and very unforgiving accidents not to mention how dark it gets. The road is also EXTREMELY narrow,I’m talking some sections you are less than 1Ft between you the car you may be overtaking and the guardrail OR if you’re in right lane there are portions with rock walls that have the propensity to have mini land slides and there are plenty of “fallen rock zone” signs. It’s called the TACONIC STATE PARKWAY, no trucks allowed although on this night some unfortunate 18 wheeler ended up on it, likely because how rainy it was and the bad visibility he could not read signs warning against it.
    At any rate, onthat road a few weeks ago I was driving in the crown Vic I had just picked up from Brooklyn which had stock headlights and my fiancé was driving my other crown Victoria which is “upgraded” with a set of boslla iirc ( spelling may be off) LED 3 color mode head lights ( nice bright blue white color/ then a mix of blue white and a deep yellow/ and finally a totally yellow mode which is good for not so great weather It’s the same color as the lights one night see on those cars that run 24 hours of Le Mans and use yellow headlights.
    I was fighting flooding roads/shoulder, adjusting to a new car that I had 0 seat time in on the most challenging stretch of road I know & the DANGEROUS lack of proper lighting emitted from the stock housing & halogen bulbs in the new Vic I’d gotten. There were times when I essentially used my high beams while oncoming traffic was close and the oncoming traffic basically is so close if they have An issue you’re easily able to get collected in it because of how the railing is designs and the lack of space. There was times when I was getting blinded badly by all the new pickup trucks and sedans with their fancy shmancy adaptive led headlights, laser lights etc. i don’t think some of them even saw my high rams coming they were so dim because not a soul flashed me and believe me they are quick to do so if they’re bothered by the brightness of your lights.
    I had my fiancé lead us up in my car since she was familiar with it and it has the better lights not to mention the fact that she wears glasses. Ideally I’d drive in front and sort of lead the “charge “ on up north but the stock lights are just not cutting it. I find it hard to believe they even were able to pass the requirements for lighting from 99-2010. Idk if they had the testing we have these days but tons of vehicles out there don’t put out enough light and then there are those that put out too much. Every new Acura product or product with their “jewel eye” headlight blinds me HORRIBLY and they can probably see my future their headlights are so bright…
    If anyone is reading this and thinking of a crown Vic . Night time driving with the stock lights is a chore so I strongly recommend upgrading, panther lighting when he’s able to get more product done quicker is going to literally save lives I bet be it from animals in the road or people being able to see more clearly at night.

    • @PantherLights
      @PantherLights  2 года назад +2

      I'm not sure how I missed this comment, so I apologize for that!
      You hit it right on the nose...I'm truly not sure how on earth these housings were able to meet the requirements back then, for so long too. These headlights are the reason my business even exists...yes the LEDs are great, but a proper projector setup is life changing, and as you mentioned has the potential to truly save lives. Understandably, these come at a cost that a fair amount of Panther owners aren't necessarily comfortable spending on "just headlights" (my favorite) but I feel that table is starting to turn and more people are starting to see the value in actually seeing at night, without blinding literally everyone else on the road creating an even more dangerous environment.

    Federal guidelines specify that headlights must have a luminous intensity between 500 and 3,000 lumens - anything beyond this level is considered too bright and may not meet legal requirements.
    Feel lucky?

    • @toyotabrony
      @toyotabrony 6 месяцев назад

      Why does that matter?
      Having a led bulb that produce form 2000-6500 lumens per bulb is still a must upgrade led.
      No matter what. Anything that’s below or above 3000 lumens for low beams is on the sweet spot.
      Anything that’s below or above 5000 lumens on high beams is on sweet spot.
      Anything below or above 2500 lumens for fog lights is a sweet spot.
      I’d upgrade led with lumens that less, meet, or exceed the luminacity of 3000.
      Lumens is not the right measurement for when u put led bulbs inside the optics of the projector or reflector headlights.
      This is luxury measurement. It’s more useful.
