So when I heard that Apple will ditch Intel (thermal throttling is clearly their fault) I thought let's buy and try it. I got the macMini M1 and just upgraded the RAM from 8 to 16gigs. Bought it via notebooksbilliger.de - was a lot cheaper. Price was 840€.
It's absolutely dead silent, performance is good and everyday new plugin manufactures update their software and you get native support. The price and value of the system is outstanding in the class. If you can wait, wait for the upcuming m1x architecture. It will be way faster and until then almost all plugins will be updated.

is your external midi controller running through Thunderbolt? Does midi controller work fine on the min without thunderbolt( ya know USB2? 3?)?did you do a core adjustment to all 8 cores full capacity?
Also, if you treat songwriting and mastering separately and not have effects on the master buss, then the cores aren’t so hard pressed.

One thing I realized while you were doing all these tests is that you're also doing a screen recording on top of loading a bunch of beefy plugins and it's working flawlessly? Sold!

I USE 15-25 AUDIO AND MIDI INSTRUMENTS (TOGETHER) in reaper, cubase or Logic pro x !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have the newer thunderbolt version. maybe you can change the option card to an old mk1 with firewire?! but i think you could buy a used silverface apollo with firewire.

if you play some Virtual instruments as a test Okay but I have Apple too n 1 16 GB 2 Tera The problem is that after the twentieth Virtual instrument the computer has problems when opening a project where there are 20 to 30 Virtual instrument many instruments do not load you have to open for example Contact where there is the instrument play the instrument and after Activate the track there is still a lot to do you must absolutely use logic under Rosetta and all the Virtual Instruments but this takes away capacity to the computer to be able to make calculations more instantaneously until there is the possibility that the Virtual Instruments are native there will always be these problems and certainly it is much better to work with Intel until all this ends so no matter the power 'emme one but what compatibility with the rest thanks

Is this the base model?
Can i ask if your were running Logic Pro in native mode (not Rosetta) when you were opening up all those plugins? OR can you ask Logiv Pro to apple Rosetta to unsupported plugins? Thanks....
for better compatibility i run logic in rosetta mode completely now. but in the test video i run the native version.

ich bin mit touch bar 2018 2,6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 and will ein upgrade wegen den shhhhhhhh von Ventilator und einiges mit Latency wie du gesagt hast. Nun ich wollte dass du uns sagst ob Mac Mini Pro oder die Upgrade von standar version soll die Sache sein?

Great video. Thanks. Interesting on the 256gb. I went with 1tb as I like to work off the native ssd and then mirror to an externals 2X. Also interesting how everyone is doing one wide monitor as I prefer to have 2 monitors so I can move around plugins and mixer to 2nd screen. Any thoughts?
i like a wider curved one better for acoustic reasons. but i think you should use what is better for your workflow. cheers

it's described on the universal audio page. you have to disable a specific security setting after booting into recovery mode.

ich verwende kein fl, glaube aber dass es mittlerweile eine mac version gibt. ob die auf m1 läuft, kann ich dir nicht verbindlich sagen.

Wait hold up! How are the SSL plugins working? On my 2020 Mac mini Big Sur. Every time I load up logic they say "Not compatable" And I have the exact ones you loaded up?! Help me please! It would be much appreciated.

@@allaboutaudio_tv As far as I know. But I may need to delete and reinstall again. I haven’t tried for a couple months because they were supposed to email me when they updated it for Big Sur.
@@mynameismudd1518 i use the ssl native channel strip (the v6 and the new one) and the bus compressor a lot. both work like a charm.
