    Looks yummy!
    Janet, please don't mention grapeseed oil when listing fat options. It is not healthy at ALL.
    Avacado oil would be a better option, along with the others you suggested.
    Grapeseed is a highly processed by-product. Grape seeds have so little oil in them that it's often chemically extracted. It is also high Omega 6.
    Imo, it ranks right up there with Canola for oils to avoid entirely.
    Hope this helps someone. 🙏 ❤
    Love your recipes because you always use coconut flour and I can't do almond flour. Thank you!!

      Also I'm surprised you didn't make a dip in the burger patty before cooking it. Is this only done when frying the burgers and not when baking? I don't cook much but I put a dip on the burgers I've shallow fried in the past because I heard that the meat will rise in the middle and become like a meat ball if I don't make an indent.

    • @JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen
      @JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen  3 года назад

      I've never had to make an indent in my patties. I always bake or grill my burgers. A lot of times when frying burgers air can get trapped if the patties are not tightly packed that's why sometimes the burger can bubble up.

    Hi Janet
    This is a lovely recipe, I did not put the sweetener and did not brush the top with eggs( just used water) , it was so delicious and looked so nice , thank you . I still had some sweetness from the coconut flour, any advise how to balance that out ??

    • @JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen

    Hi Janet, do the buns stay soft??
    When I make sprouted whole wheat bread, I brush with butter while hot so the crust remains soft... I noticed you don't do that and perhaps it's not necessary with the ingredients used.
    Love your videos and the way you explain everything in detail. Stay wonderful!

    No keto 'bread' I've come across is worth anything. Like a fool, I made 4 'buns' from this recipe. Leaden (weighing about three times as much as a real hamburger bun), dry, crumbly, tasting of coconut and unswallowable. After choking on one I threw the rest away. Beware people making money out of your cravings. If you want to eat keto, stick to what keto does well. Trying to reproduce carbohydrate foods is asking for disappointment or worse.

      I had the same experience. But I substituted psyllium husk powder instead of xanthan gum and should have added more warm water as the dough was a bit on the crumbly side. I'll give it one more try when I get some xanthan gum and see if it makes a difference. I had previously made buns using a different recipe and although they came out like brown pumpernickel bread, at least they looked and tasted like bread and were not crumbly.

      I have a keto bread recipe that's actually really good. I got it from "I don't sugar coat" channel and it uses Lupin Flour, Vital Wheat Gluten, Oat fiber, Xanthan gum, Monkfruit sweetener, eggs, butter, yeast, salt and water. The dough can be made into bread, pizza crust, hamburger buns or anything else you can fashion dough into. The whole recipe is 22 carbs. I can turn it into 6 really good hamburger buns at less than 4 carbs a bun. It chews exactly like soft bread does and tastes a little like those sweet Hawaiian rolls, but with a firmer texture. Don't give up just because you haven't found a recipe that works for you yet.
