🤔Thorns🩸, along with Minions💀, is back with a vengeance for the Necromancer in Season 4. But is it strong enough, compared to the top tier Shadow Minions build? We'll see, very soon!
Cool build! I've been looking for other building Thorns Necro. I have my own variation with the shadow and corpse explosion. I also have the unique pants that curse enemies when minions hit them. I can have both curses active in the skill tree but not on my ability bar to cast myself freeing up some abilities. I was luck to enough one night to get a 2X greater affix Razerplate which started my journey. Main abilities Reep - for the 15% DR Corpse explosion/Tendrils (have ring of Sacrilegious Soul) Both curses Army of the dead (contemplating putting on Bone storm for the DR) Also have shadow blight passive. One cool thing i did find out is since the bone golem receives 100% of your armor, i have scaled my armor to 26K(trying to get more). This is for his passive when he taunts gaining a boost in thorns from the armor. I have been able to clear all content excluding Lilith (get to her second phase and cant survive) and Lvl 90 in the pit so far. Most of the bosses deal massive damage when hitting my minions. I am just trying to find a way to increase my survivability. If you have any ideas or tips they are greatly appreciated! I will be subbing and looking forward to your journey :).
Wow tier 90 pits is pretty insane. Thanks for sharing your tips! I thought about using the Blood Moon breeches before. Maybe I can give up shielding storm for it? I was thinking, for really difficult to survive content, to just switch to an Infinimist variant. But I'll need to see as well!
if you read the tool tip of golem on your action bar, the golem also increases thorns by 70% of its armour. i have cleared a 90 with thorns necro so far. alot of fun.
I like the idea, but find difficult to tell how much Thorns is actually helping. Perhaps running with just the golem or a single skeleton is the way to see the numbers from mobs hitting thorned up minions. I know thorns and Razorplate was amazing on my Barb so having a dozen minions all doing it when hit, especially on a boss that does AoE who then gets hit by a dozen minion's worth of thorns plus a dozen needleflare procs might be better than given credit for.
The thing about multiple minions being hit at once, especially with the needleflare aspect, is definitely my thinking as well! I will also try to test things further though, for sure! Thanks for the input!
I run something similar, I run taunt on the skellies and juggernaut on the pants. I have something like 20k armor which is WAY over, BUT remember golem gets more thorns in line with how much armor it is. So more armor equals more thorns!
Have you noticed that the thorn's damage that are inherited have significantly dropped? Mind used to be 35 million? Now it's down to fifty seven thousand
Just thought I'd let you know. Your build template shows Unyielding Commander's on gloves but you're not using AotD, but I'm using your build as a baseline :D

Hey no worries at all! Actually the aspects should be the same (unless I made a mistake on the template), but just on the interchangeabe slots! For example, I managed to find needleflare on a weapon, and so just stuck with that on that slot and put the others offensive ones on gloves, rings, and offhand (all of these are interchangeable anyway in terms of just offensive aspects)
I strongly considered this as well, but ended up taking Shielding Storm over Exploding Mists. But my original reason was that I didn't have enough uptime on my bloodmist, so kind of needed the barrier to help me stay alive... But if I have blood mist duration tempered, plus masterworking, maybe I"ll be able to forego shielding storm and go for that too! What do you think?
Hah, I added a few ranks since the recorded clips in the video, and I can see how the numbers can eventually be quite ridiculous! I am sort of saving for a better razorplate with greater affixes before I commit too much though!!
Broooo you cracked the CODE like i have been struuggling to do tier 63 and this was a breeze dmg was a little (im not maxed on the build atm) slow but got job done changing to bone taunt golmn and def skels with taut made all the diff (and im trying out cold mages too to keep vunerable, tho i may try bone mages too well see))
How are you getting 24 million thorns on minions. I have 1k int, 23k thorns and 27% Skeletal warrior thorns, and mine is sitting at ~4 mill thorns. I cannot seem to replicate the 24 million I keep seeing all over
To my knowledge it's not labeled as a minion, so I don't think so! I have thought about it for the vulnerable though, but I feel like if it doesn't have thorns, I would be losing too much potential damage from thorns
I considered it, but seeing as it doesn't scale off thorns damage, decided there simply wasn't space for it! If I am able to somehow run Blood Moon Breeches, however, it might be worth looking at!
I'm working my way up the pits as we speak, and will attempt Lilith & the bosses very soon! My damage is holding up quite well so far (at around tier 70+ pit still) but I'm ready to pivot and test variants as things get more challenging!

Does bone prison still count as minions and get the thorns damage?
@@Eternal_Genin I don't believe so! But It's still quite useful for the vulnerable and cooldown reduction; I've been using it in my latest version!

I take the shadow corpse explosion but dont put it on the bar. I just spam mist to explode corpses.
