Really liked this cinematic style! Stumbled across your video as I’ve got the same issue with my ‘09 XC90 V8. It’s got quite the mileage now so I’ve ordered a full set of coils and plugs. Great vid mate!

This episode has sort of has a primitive technology vibe to it (if you’ve watched that channel). Long cuts, no dialogue or backing track, and a focus on getting a task done.

What is that sensor called the right next to the coil you took out? The wiring on my Volvo 2008xc90 is burned out on it bad but I can’t take it out

Great video style. Was that an ignition coil that you replaced? If so, what do you recommend for source and brand ? I have a 2008 4.4 XC90.

Yep, ignition coil. Mine was a Delphi Technologies branded one. They're verified through FCPEuro too which is nice

@CinemotiveShopcraft Thank you, Brother. I just drove from Austin to Seattle and that message came up on a mountain pass. I think the crappy 85 octane gas in New Mexico was part of it. Keep up the good work.

I did not have that warning message but engine was running very rough. Vovlo mechanic said I had a few bad ignition coils and a few bad spark plugs so recommended replacing all of them…for about $1,500. Instead I bought a set of both for $400 and replaced them all myself. Engine is running better, still a bit rough. And now I am getting this same error message. Ideas?

I have a Volvo s60 and it’s saying this… so it don’t mean my whole transmission is bad? I’m trying to figure out if it’s going to be expensive to get it fixed?

Check your ignition coils first. Unplug them one by one while the engine is running (careful of the radiator fan) and if the engine's sound changes, the ignition coils are good. If you unplug an ignition coil and the engine's sound doesn't change, then that coil needs replaced. If your s60 is over 100k miles, it might be worth it to replace all of them. Or, budget route, you can just replace the one(s) that are bad

@@CinemotiveShopcraftgreat video. I still have this issue and I have replaced all of my engine coils and spark plugs in addition to on of my fuel injectors. I’m going to try the crank sensor and oxygen sensor next, but I am lost at what it could be. I even replaced my evap pump and it’s still driving sluggish. I have a 2012 XC60 60 and the diagnostic results are still reading multiple misfires. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful and appreciated.

I have an 09 S80 v8 which throws that warning occasionally under hard acceleration. A few vids on you tube have suggested it could be a fuel pressure sensor. Looks like a relatively cheap and easy part to replace just in case.

@ajanimoore2612 did you ever find the issue to your misfires? I'm going through the same

My Volvo is still powerful but that down shift up will pop up and then the car will slow down
I put a new battery in it and it ran perfectly and then it popped back up I think it is the ignition coil
