I use a pushpin to make a hole in the large end of the egg instead of knocking it on the counter. It's the same principle, you're leaving an outlet for that air bubble in the big end of the egg. I also cool my eggs with ice in the water. You're right that it always works! Peels great, not overcooked!

I discovered the boil & cool down method recently from another creator & never cracked the egg & they still come out perfectly. I believe it's the hot boiling water, then cold water that gets the membrane to separate from the egg. Always had problems with boiled eggs but now they come out perfectly. Thank you for showing your method. Much appreciated!

I boil a dozen, and use the ice bath method. I like to eat one boiled egg in the morning. Still have problems peeling , so I take the cold egg I plan to peel and place it in hot water for a minute. Seems to help. Like your southern accent!

What if you don't use all the eggs at once, will they keep in the fridge?

I send you virtual fowers! I#ve been stumped on this one for years, everything I tried just didn't quite work...and we love devilled eggs in our house, so that was a lot of frustrated peeling! Many thanks We make ours with homemade mayo ( of course much better taste than the uck ouf a jar r squeeza tube ) and we make it with real olive oil and a bit of any other oil we want to add for exttra taste, like linseed oil or walnut oil --or use peanut oil included, if we can get it from any non-GMO source. Then add a little chili pepper or paprika, which adds the "devil" in it, as well as garlic salt or celery salt, fresh pepper or rose pepper, also very yummy.

I'm going to try this. I just found out that you can freeze them in the shell and schell them and slice while they are frozen and fry them
