Sweet sweet lady had her heart broken, especially by George Jones whom she really loved, and sang about it. She was the very best and yes,NO ONE can touch her vocally, with so much stage presence and the hurt in her voice was so palpable, the best she could ever be. She is and still maintains her title the Lady of Country music and the 1st Lady of Country as well. No one can detrone her ever. We love you Tammy and will never forget the evening I saw you in Plattsburg, 1988 you were IT! WOW!
Tammy Wynette was born to entertain. I have no doubt about it. She and Patsy Cline are two that can never be even closely imitated. Their voices were one of a kind; especially Tammy's. I always love her and always will. I miss the good times at her and George's "ranch" in Lakeland, Florida. Spent some wonderful times there with some wonderful people. Rest in Peace, my dear friend.
well the comment that Susan made was so true about everything in her statement about Tommy and George Tammy, love again with George Richey but she was in love with George Jones that was a fact
@TammyandGeorgeFan1--- Her last TV Performance was NOT on the Opry but was on PRIMETIME Country a little less than a month before she died. In that March 1998 appearance she sang STAND BY YOUR MAN for the last time publicly. Her last OPRY appearance was almost a year before she died...
Judy Garland (Broadway) Janis Joplin (Rock and Roll) Tammy Wynette (Country) Whitney Houston (Country) All four of these great singers were taken too early!
