    Dude, you are one of the best I've seen. I noticed on this change those aluminum rims are facing down with the good side of rim on the concrete. I have a nice tour bus rv and had my front tires replaced. When I got to the shop the face of the rims were down, the good side was scratched like hell due to the shop putting the rim on bare ground and wrestling to get the tire off which messed up the rims. My rims were imaculent and I polish them once a year with a machine, button line they had to buy me new rims, I was f- ing pissed when I saw the messed up rims. The metal rims are not a big deal but those polished rims on a 2 million dollar bus is a whole different story, just my thoughts. Keep up the good work.

      I do you have protective blankets and pads to lay wheels on but for this job in was not necessary. Ive worked on many custom trucks and motor coaches and with those job I use thick moving blankets to lay the wheels on and I will use my dismount tool to avoid any scratches. If for any reason I have to use bars I use leather protectors which snap on to the lip of the rim. Thanks for watching

      I was thinking the same thing at first.. But if hes that quick at it, hes done enough to know when a rim is going to get scratched. So I stated to guess it just didnt matter on this job. And it was just a video of speed and power.

    That is a bomb technician doing fine work! I don't much care for a graphite handled hammer though. I use my trusty slide hammer but I am not trying to critique a fellow tire changer! I have changed truck and farm for 24 years and it is a rough job as you age!! I used to change 20-30 on an average summer day but it kills me now to go over 12-13 on the road. Good job brother!!

    That's good to know, this was a large tire place in Tampa that messed my rims up and put beads in the tires which did nothing and when Michelin say them they went nuts and paid to have them taken out. I had the worst experience on getting new tires and trying to get them balanced. Dolly Partons bus was also there getting new tires too, I'm sure she had a great ride back home.

  • @SpikedGamingOfficial
    @SpikedGamingOfficial 12 лет назад +1

    that's true, so I usually use my heavy body weight to break the bead sometimes. But then there are times when I have used the sledgehammer, it takes a lot of practice to not fuck up a rim, but it gets the job down a lot faster.

      Not really, once you do it for a while, it gets to the point that it's easy. Just try changing the same tire all you can for a week or so, your balance will improve and you'll learn how to position yourself better.

    • @YoungChristopher1
      @YoungChristopher1 10 лет назад

      Na, just learn how to do it properly. Lift with the bars and your knees, not your back. I promise you, dismounting it properly, you can do it in 30 mins, from truck being jacked up to torquing the lugs back in about two and a half months. In a week you won't have problems mounting or dismounting. You'll just be slow. Don't doubt yourself! I've seen small women do it. :P

    I always use a slide bar and Gaither tool for removing tyres from rims. Id never use levers on alloys and have never laid them straight on the ground.
    This bloke is good but if he did that to a truckies polished alloys here in west oz he'd never hear the end of it.

      aluminum wheels, drop centre is in the middle, I used to change those backwards so the outside face would have no marks at all....And his speed, not that impressive... You change over 2, start airing, and air and change at the same time

      I work it from the other side and lay a thick mat or mud flap down first though I still use tubeless bars but at my age I use 3 bars for ease of demounting (165lbs and age 62) waiting for my golden tool . I work from a 2.50X4 to a 45/65X45 tire

    • @chrisrooney5570
      @chrisrooney5570 9 лет назад

      Not at all, I've been changing these tires for 6 years and not once have I had a problem with them sealing. At 100-110psi they will seal with the mounting compound plus helps when rim is clear of rush and corrosion

    • @thomaslopez1507

    what happens if you hit the rim with that hammer will it chip the rim?

  • @oilplug
    @oilplug 12 лет назад

    limiting factor is always the air. You can always get the tire changed over quicker then you can put air in it. So change one over, blast it, get it on the air. Use a restraining device (t lock) in the tailgate is what I use) move on to the next one, by the time you;'ve got the second one changed over the first one is at 100 psi. I've had hydralic jacks fail on me so I always use a jackstand

    • @TripleATireService
      @TripleATireService  8 лет назад +1

      It's a good idea to balance but not necessary on most. I always recommend balancing the steer tires only after they have been run a short time. The reason being is that the mounting lube has dried and the tire beads are well seated. +Geographer 4 fun (AlvaGeo)

    Lol everyone saying this is easy go change super single in - 30 degree temps on high way trucks not lane changing

    • @YoungChristopher1
      @YoungChristopher1 10 лет назад

      A super single isn't bad. As for the temp, you live in that state, nothing to do with a tire. Weather has nothing to do with changing a tire. Also, road side has nothing to with tire changing. These are circumstances that work at you and your job, not changing a tire itself.
      Changing a 22.5, 24.5, or super single is easy, unless abnormal wear, weather, or other factors are preventing it from being easy. A new rim, new tire, and new valve stem is so easy anyone can do it.

    When buying your first set of tire removal tools is it better to buy this type "bars" or the curvy "golden / snake" type. This kind looks to be more expensive and a little harder to use but take up less space. I've seen the other kind go for a little cheaper and it seems they are easier to use. kinda like standard vs automatic transmission

    • @TripleATireService
      @TripleATireService  8 лет назад +4

      +tiorobot These bars can used for a verity of different size tires and are way cheaper. As for the golden tool it is limited to the basic tubeless truck tires plus it's a bit pricey. I do carry the tool and it does make changing truck tires easier. But I would definitely get bars as the first choice. Check out my "Tire changing basics" video as I demonstrate those tools. Thanks for watching
