SO DELICIOUS! It turned out really good, not too spicy, pretty easy to make, and it’s vegetarian! Used cauliflower because we didn’t have paneer, but it wasn’t missing anything. The flavor is just like I was hoping for: BANG! Thank you Chetna!!!
I’m probably going to sound rather silly but.. what is paneer? Is it like tofu? I’m disabled but I’m finally finding a bit of confidence in the kitchen, I’ve just discovered your channel (I remember seeing you on tv !) & I’ve really enjoyed sitting back the past few mornings watching your videos & learning. I must, must get myself a spice kit going! I must also tell myself to stop worrying & just give things a go! This looks just divine. Thank you for sharing your beautiful food with us 💕 xx
Hi Laura, yes paneer is like tofu but slightly different texture, it is Indian cheese. Hope you will feel confident enough to try some of these recipes and not worry too much, sending positive vibes to you
Thank you Chetna for this recipe. I travelled through India and lived on anything with Paneer. Adore it and so love your recipes.... you make them so easy.
I tried your butter paneer recipe and it was amazing! I bought some paneer recently thinking to make it again, but then you uploaded this and I was just wondering how different is it? 😊
Looks very delicious. I like the way your sauces build without using tinned tomatoes, the fresh ones have a lighter colour, so makes me wonder what else is in the tinned. When you make the roti, it's one of those facinating things I could watch for ages, think it comes from using that particular board and rolling pin, I think I will need to get hold of one. We have tried paneer on one of your other recipes, something we hadn't tried before, we found it a nice alternative to meat. Thankyou Chetna.
"I really like watching her make stuff. Everything she makes looks so yummy." -My five year old Making this tonight! The homemade paneer (also from your videos) is in the fridge and ready to go :) I really enjoy your recipes, and I appreciate how easy and approachable you make cooking.
Thank you for all your receipes!!...I also wanted to add that I use your garam masala in my dishes and its a huge difference in taste!!..my ex mother in law made me a huge batch but she skimped out on the cinnamon and the color and taste is so different. Obviously yours is way better!!
I will try this out for Easter Sunday. Looks delicious and so easy to make. If I want to add chicken to this, can I just add it as is or do you recomend marinating/frying the chicken? Also, for Paneer dishes (in general), when should i fry paneer and add to gravy vs without frying and adding cubes?
I am cooking it now for tomorrow :) I actually have fenugreek leaves and _finally_ can use them in something :D BTW not a fan of using whole cinnamon, it likes to disintegrate while cooking and then I keep spitting it out the whole time :D So I am using powder today. And I could not find paneer, again, so I am using some haloumi instead.
Hi Chetna, do you have a written out version of this recipe or is it in one of your books? It is easier for me to follow. Thanks a lot, love the recipes.
I’m sorry if you have this question over and over again (I did look to see if I could find the answer but no luck), where is your frying pan / cool pink lid from, please? This would be ideal for me but I cannot work out where it’s from. Thanks H x
Food with Chetna They have very similar flavour and smell profiles (due to the soloton compound) and fenugreek is even used in imitation maple syrup. Of course the preference is to use fenugreek, but in these crazy covid-19 times where fenugreek may be harder to find, maple syrup is not a bad substitute (provided used sensibly). Recommend trying it!
In this supermarket in England are there "paneer" cheese? From what I know, I think you're in England. Or can it be made with Greek goat cheese? Sorry if I bother you !!! Thanks
I enjoyed Paneer while in India. The English translation was always Cottage Cheese. I'm wondering if there is an alternate cheese that you would recommend as a substitute that I can purchase in a grocery store.
Delicious! I'm trying all your vegetarian recipes at the moment and love them all!
Glad you like them!
Agree! Lovely veg recipes!
I don't understand how anyone can do thumbs up on this video. The food is amazing!!!!!!! 😋
Made the paneer today and making this dish tonight. A fantastic channel to learn new recipes. Growing my methi.

Thank you Chetna!!!
Made this for supper. Made the paneer last night. Plus I made rice with liquid left over from the paneer…it was lovely! And enough for leftovers!
I can't wait to try this recipe.
Thank you
My pleasure 😊

@7:56 Now that is a Bowl of Love 😍😍😍
This looks amazing. Do you think it would lose anything leaving out the cashews? Nut allergy sufferer!
Very nice recipe Chetna👌👌 thank you👍
Most welcome 😊

I love paneer and...I have some at home... guess what I'm making tomorrow 😀
Great 👍
That depth of flavor! Yum!
Exactly that!
Made it and loved it. Time saving and delicious

Sounds great! so glad you are enjoying the masala and cooking with it.
I love your cooking, wish I could be a guest in your house for dinner... keep sending the videos through 🦋♥️♥️

yum! I have only had Paneer Masala twice. The first time it was amazing! I hope to try to make it on my own. yum!!
I do hope you will enjoy this!
Omg looks amazing! 🤤 Thanks for sharing your recipe, I really would love to be able to make this at home!
I love your recipes so much ❤️

Looks amazing!
It was!
mmm.....
Simply perfect ☺️
Thanks a lot 😊
Tried this recipe. Turned out so well. Delicious. My mom loved it. 🥳
Glad you liked it
Hello Chetna, can I request you to make a jalfrezi? Your recipes are easy to follow hence the request.
Have you not seen the jalfrezi recipes on my channel?????
@@FoodwithChetna If I replace the chicken with paneer will that work fine?
It looks sooo delicious 🤤🤤
Thank you 😋

Yes it is in my book 'Healthy Indian
I’m sorry if you have this question over and over again (I did look to see if I could find the answer but no luck), where is your frying pan / cool pink lid from, please? This would be ideal for me but I cannot work out where it’s from. Thanks H x
Its from Haufson website
Food with Chetna thank you ❤️
Hi, where can I find your recipe for this please? It looks lovely. X
Hi chetna, love your recipes. Can an alternative flour such as almond, rice, chickpea, etc be substituted for wheat flour when making naan or roti?
yes you can make flatbread with any flour that would not be chapati / roti / or naan, they would just be a flatbread
Nice👌
Thanks 😊
Yum!
thanks
Just grabbed some paneer the other day. Thank you for the inspiration. 🙂
Is this suitable to freeze when its cooked please? Thanks
Looks delicious! Could you lightly fry the paneer before adding to the curry? I like mine a bit browned!
Yes you can!
How about finally garnishing the curry with some coriander leaves mam?😀
Yes you can
Looks great, but I dont have any cashew nuts...would almonds work instead?
No not really, just skip the nuts and instead adjust the cream in the end accordingly
@@FoodwithChetna ok, thanks :)
Do you think I could substitute macadamia nuts for cashews in this?
Ok I never watch the entire video now I know what else you can use instead of Paneer It looks that lovely I'm a little impatient to cook it :)
Hope you enjoy
How can you leave out spices? does that not alter the recipe completely ? X
That looks so yummy 💖 I hope I can get some ginger 😁
I hope so too!
How do tofu v paneer compare I am guessing you can use both here
They are very different but you can try this with tofu too.
@@FoodwithChetna I was just looking for this question :) I’m vegan and I’m trying it out with tofu!
What kind of chili powder do you use?
Just normal red chilli powder
I have fenugreek seeds. Can I use them instead of leaves?
Probably a silly question...If I don't have cinnamon sticks, can I use ground cinnamon?
Not the same, though you could add the powder later with the powdered spices. If you put it in the start it will burn
Hello! I didn't quite understand what dried leaves you put in the sauce, and what kind of cheese! Thanks
Its dried fenugreek leaves and its paneer cheese
Thanks and God bless you!!!
Dear Chetna is Panner cheese or butter, this is were I get mixed up and I have to be very careful with diabetes Thankyou x
Kind of Cottage cheese
If you do not have fenugreek leaves, you can use a little bit of maple syrup as a substitute
Pretty sure you're referring to the honey.
No no no maple syrup please. The fenugreek leaves are dried and have a distinct flavour, maple syrup is for pudding!
Fenugreek leaves?? Umm?? Wonder if I could grow fenugreek?
You probably could but might take ages to grow and then ages to dry!
What does paneer taste of/like? X
I was going to ask the same question.
It is fresh cheese
I'm aware it's a fresh cheese, I just want to know what it tastes like? Salty? Bland? Strong taste?
TheTishi25 somewhere between ricotta and tofu. A good medium to absorb flavours
@@sukritidayal9141 thank you, very helpful 😊 x
Hi, Chetna could you substitute the Paneer with anything else? Great video, as usual, you are doing a fantastic job every day wow
You can substitue Paneer with Tofu.
Yes I did mention at the end of the video what you can add instead of the paneer
Thank you
You're welcome
In this supermarket in England are there "paneer" cheese? From what I know, I think you're in England. Or can it be made with Greek goat cheese? Sorry if I bother you !!! Thanks
Its just paneer, in some super markets it is called paneer cheese
I enjoyed Paneer while in India. The English translation was always Cottage Cheese. I'm wondering if there is an alternate cheese that you would recommend as a substitute that I can purchase in a grocery store.
If people are finding it difficult to source paneer I have used firm pressed tofu in paneer recipes with great success!
Yes you can use tofu!
I have fenugreek but no onions haha
Oh no, what about onion powder, so just cook it without the onions.
Wouldnt be the curry too sour due to so many tomatoes.. Whenever I try this curry it comes too sour 😭😭😭😭
Isn't this recipe similar to butter paneer?
Yes similar but flavour is different
Don't we have to cook paneer?
A Rumer song as an ad. Things are looking up. I normally skip ads immediately, but not this time.
Whenever I cook this I don't get accurate taste of gravy.some raw Ginger smell is coming
