In todays Resin Art video, I show you how you can create hologram style effects in resin using aurora powders.
This resin art technique has a lot of potential for different projects and can be tweaked in many ways with different shapes and colors.
I kept saying holographic during the video, sorry guys 😂 You know what I mean 😂

I had no idea about the technique with UV resin and solid color molds... that's insanely useful!!! I was avoiding so many molds because I was afraid of incomplete UV curing. You've broadened my horizons!!! 😊

This is what I did today. Made a silicone mold of the Jibbitz I used and have been inserting them instead of the inlays lol 😆 ❤ worked a treat

Oh Daniel,, if you can invert the face, so that you are looking at the inside when it's done, you will get 'The' holographic look. ( it will look like the face is turning towards you. you can see some of that effect with the powder in the form.)

As a kid in the 90s I remember having a few pendants that were glass with holograms that were very reminiscent of these pieces, but not nearly as cool because they weren't 3D like yours! This is incredible and I'm going to have to try this now...thank you!

This is awesome, Daniel. i love the ghostly look, and this will be so much fun to try. Thank you for making this in UV as well as epoxy so we can see how to work with both. When I started using uv resin the main channels were Chinese and they all said to coat the whole mold but never said why, so thank you so much for explaining.

Try taping a toothpick or cardboard strip to the back of the face that extends past the edges of the oval mold to prevent the nose from touching.

Hey...what if you made a face shell with the UV, then popped it into the epoxy? It should float a bit easier, maybe? Then, fill with whatever resin/colors you like? Hmmmm. Black fill-in? Oooh, wonder what that would look like?
I think a black background on the double-color one might pop the face and colors a bit? What do you think? I can't really tell...tried to see if it worked against your black gloves.
Oooh, possibly but the shell would keep rising in the resin I think? 🤔
