There was a reason they didn't do the Q&A portion. I was there. In fact, I was front and center for this, and the woman who handed Paul the flowers was literally right next to me on my left when she stepped forward to hand them to him. Anyhow, what happened was they had played in Cincinnati the night before, and the stage was three hours late arriving to Detroit. That's why the soundcheck took place in the concourse rather than on the actual stage--the road crew was still putting the stage together. So this soundcheck was hastily arranged, and there was simply no time for the Q&A. There was no tour of the stage, no photo ops at Eric's drums (they did have Gene's bass and Paul and Tommy's guitars in the room where the Detroit Red Wings have their post-game press conferences, and you could take photos with those), there was no trying on of Gene and Paul's boots--and I was okay with all of that, because I'd done it all before in 2019, when the tour was barely over a month old (I got to hang out with the band backstage in the hallways of the arena, too). I thought that sucked for the people who had never had the opportunity to do any of that and paid to do it at this show, then didn't get to that night, but they didn't get screwed--I discovered a $500 credit from "KISS" on my credit card statement, and when I contacted Epic Rights and asked if this was to make up for all that stuff that was promised and DIDN'T happen, they said that it was exactly that: a partial refund for the portions of the VIP package that didn't occur. That's right, everyone--Gene gave the money back! I think the coolest part for me was, being that a high-ranking member of their entourage is a friend of mine, I wound up backstage as the crew was tearing it all down, despite the fact that my pass didn't give me that kind of access. I was the only attendee of the show that was there when the band was literally leaving the building. I spoke with Eric (he knows me, and signed a Pearl Drums hardware promo poster for me) and Gene. I did see Tommy putting his things in the car, and Paul arrived with Doc McGhee maybe but a minute before they left. Being that they had the next day off, I should have asked Doc if they could have hung around for three more minutes; maybe five. I saw Doc earlier that night and talked to him. He signed the Motley Crue book for me, too. He's always been great towards me. I can't complain, though. During the almost five years of the tour, all of the guys signed extra items for me at one point or another, over the course of the three shows I attended. That was supposed to be a privilege you could only get if you were buying a guitar, bass, snare drum, or microphone (and I just don't have the space for them, but I do have walls, and posters can go on walls, and I know people in the KISS entourage, so...).

@@devinw5150 Tommy doesn't even play the solos right. Ace does just fine still. Tommy couldn't form his own solo if his life depended on it. And he like ur students doesn't have the creativity Ace did to come up with all his iconic solos either
@@roberthaizlip4057 Ace does not do fine now. He can hardly play at all and he never could sing. If I paid money to watch him and his band play now, I would demand a refund. That’s how bad he has declined and I’ve watched several of his current club performances on utube. Tommy plays the majority of the old Kiss material spot on. He’s the one who had to reteach Ace all the solos when Kiss first put the makeup back on. You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. I would hardly call Ace’s solos “iconic” They are mostly made up of standard blues scale licks that any semi pro guitar player can play with ease.
@@devinw5150 Someone is jealous that Ace is a legend and MANY famous guitarists list him as their Idol. His solos are most definitely iconic, melodic and unique. The only people saying Tommy taught Ace are the proven liars Paul and Gene. Ace still mops the floor with Tommy. Tommy can't play anything original. He's been an Ace wanna be all his life.
@@roberthaizlip4057 I don’t disagree that Ace influenced many guitar players. He definitely played an important part of R&R history. That’s undeniable. Gene and Paul aren’t the only ones that said Tommy helped Ace relearn his parts. Peter also verified that Tommy helped Ace relearn his parts in one of his interviews and of course, Tommy himself said it too. I know that’s really hard for you to accept because he’s your idol and you worship the ground he walks on but It’s not really a big deal and totally understandable. He hadn’t played that stuff in decades. That, combined with all of his drug and alcohol abuse would cause memory problems. As far as the rest of your rant, that’s all opinionated. You think his solos were “iconic,” I think they’re nothing special and every average guitar player in the world would have no problem playing them. What’s indisputable is how much Ace has deteriorated over the years. There’s no way he could ever do what Tommy’s doing in Kiss right now. Ace is a shell of his former self. Father time has been very cruel to him. As far as jealousy? 🤣 The only thing I’m jealous of as far as Ace Frehley goes is the amount of money he made with the average amount of talent he had but that goes for the other 3 guys too. Gene, Paul and Peter are no musical geniuses either. They just developed a good gimmick that helped sell tickets and they would tell you that themselves. Sometimes it’s not about how talented you are, it’s about drive and determination to make dreams come true and I give all 4 of them all the credit in the world for that. They deserve it.
Paul is singing with his voice in this stage. But in the live show, with make up on, he is doung lipsync 90% of all songs. He can't singing every night since 2014. He lost his voice after a bad surgery ... Its ok, nothing to say, except that he denied it. Anyway, bthank you Paul for all your efforts to delivery the band by 50 years. Is time to go.

They deserve it.
practicing in the concourse isn't sound checking
Paul is singing with his voice in this stage. But in the live show, with make up on, he is doung lipsync 90% of all songs. He can't singing every night since 2014. He lost his voice after a bad surgery ... Its ok, nothing to say, except that he denied it. Anyway, bthank you Paul for all your efforts to delivery the band by 50 years. Is time to go.
He got his surgery too late and kept pushing his voice too hard afterwards. From 2010-present it’s been apparent Paul’s voice is shot, but it’s horrendous now
Pay for this?
Parasite & she….put yer headphones in
Shock me doesn’t have that swing it used to have ,the drums don’t fit and Tommy’s playing the tone has no bite and it’s too thin and he sounds more like Joe Perry singing.
Gene looks like he’s not even into it.
