- Short video on how to use PSP42 plugin by Lexicon, to achieve the "Richie Hawtin" effects when mixing.
P.S. I'm using CLEAN PROCCESING with the plugin (You can see this in the video), because this mode is not so fast with decay time.
P.P.S. CLK settings in this video is using old note view style from PCM42. You can set these settings just like in this image: mega.nz/file/8...

Thanks for the question! There is no need to be sorry! 😉 I'm using PSP42 via Bitwig. But it's a simple VST plugin and will work via any DAW or even groove box like Maschine.
@@isotoxin because I try to install on Ablaton,but the VST will not be reading
@@AgniDeva.Maybe it's the problem with 32 and 64 bit plugin/Ableton versions?
@@isotoxin honestly I dont know,in many cases they are read, but sometimes it happens that some VSTs don't read them, like this one.

By saying 1/96, I mean the settings by the PCM42 style. Like in the version 1 of the plugin. You can enable this like this:

If You are talking about the reverb in the loop, then it's from the song. 😅 Actually I don't remember which one. I just needed a simple loop with an expressive mids (snare/hihat/ride) or a catchy sounding theme.

I had in past 8x 1210mk2 , I think , if you USE a Real EQ with LOWPASS and HIGHPASS, it is BETTER for Your Mixing Technics. Because , if You run den Delay in Feedback , with lowcut and highcut , You can mixing the TONE/sound special . Lowend and Highend can cut special . Normal is a Lowcut at 242hz , but i comes on of the Key of the Track , because the TONE can played from c1 to c2 - which key is the track and how more or less from 242hz is the lowcut. And You can go with lowcuzt up to 1000hz , if it needed or go down to 50hz in parts without drums.
My thinking is , if You use a real parametric Eq , You have a better mixing and more fun, if a trick comes good for the crouwd .
PSP42 is a realy good GOA Delay ;-) It is perfect for Dubmixing technics. It is a good choose the psp42 to use.
I remember , it was my delay in the 1999er . It is the Hammer. Very good sound delay

Would you show the mappings of those A -> B buttons, please? I have the same setup, but I miss understanding this part.
Hi! Thanks for the question. They are just for my convenience to select the DLY preset from the plugin. These buttons is used because of the PSP42 version 2 so many DELAY presets in CLK mode. There are 26 presets (from "1/96" Triplet up to the "9/1") and all these presets are controlled by just one knob. In the first version of the PSP42 plugin there was two knobs for every digit on the plugin screen. You could change the first digit (5 positions) with one knob and second digit (13 positions) with another knob.
So, with these A->B buttons i have made Bitwig macro and mapped them to the every preset I need from the all 26. Every button press just selects the preset i need. The second part is the INPUT knob. With a knob rotation I just pressing the buttons 1, buttons 2, buttons 3, buttons 4 and buttons 5 and backwards (with a little bit help from ADD macro).
Here is a link to the short video how it works. Top left corner shows the values selected by A->B buttons from the PSP42 knob "Delay Note" :) Knob by itself is mapped to the Xone K2 real knob.

@@KATT1LA Here is the link to the project with one audio track. In this track there is DJ-EQ, PSP42 plugin V2, peak limiter and panning. You just need to route IN and OUT into the track, arm the track, map at least FEEDBACK and ManVCO knobs and try to use it. :) The first two knobs is moved to the audio track MACROS. You will see them. Two knobs: "ManVCO + Panning" and "Panning".
