Yep, I remember all those sounds. Unfortunately the Supernova and SN II didn't sonically stand the test of time. Very dated sounding. Oddly as specific as the JP-8000 was with it's layered saws - it still sounds euphoric.

Love the Supernova, can suffer from psu problems but nothing you can't easily fix. It's a deceptively unhinged beast for sound design, modulation options are wild.

The Supernova is ridiculously powerful, I mean 44 voices? It's pretty amazing!

I had this one, but had to sell it when money was short. It's the one I miss the most out of all my old gear. But it did sound quite digital and the reverb and chorus was not great. But I'm sure just sending it through a tube preamp would solve it all, and you'd have an incredibly cheap monster synth.

Send it through a Hologram Microcosm and you have a MONSTER SYNTH!

Hi! This video just popped in my recommended. My two favorite synths. Modal/SNovaII. I have them setup exactly the way you have them on your desktop here. I have the Swing on the right hand side. I have the same headphones. I have my record collection behind me. Loved the video, and the setup of course. 😁

And btw both of them are rack, like yours. I use FLstudio though. 😀

One of my favorite synths, too. Bought them all through the years, from the Supernova 1 to the desktop Nova and the Supernova 2 (and the Ultranova and Mininova, although these are not in the same league), now i kept one keyboard and one rack only and they are easily in my top favorites, together with the Access Virus, the Novation Peak, Sequential REV2 and the Waldorf Q. They usually have problems in two areas, the power supplies and the DAC chip, these are generally fixable, unless you get very unlucky.... Great sound, thank you for this video.
This is 90% Nova sounds .... enjoy it! ruclips.net/video/cQcKUsT5dHw/видео.html

I replaced the DAC. Actually, I sent the synth to the UK, and Brian at Sector101 replaced the DAC, which affects the outputs. Now it's like brand new! Gonna check out your video!

@@Knightsnare One "fast" solution to the DAC problem is directing the sound to the other audio outputs, which do not present the DAC problem.

I did that for a couple of years, but then it didn't work anymore, and I had to send it up to the UK. The guys that I mentioned before are really good and fast!
