Hi Mike, you asked how well the hardware device acted as a sample looper. First time I heard it being used live actually blew my mind. It was in a UK Nightclub in Watford (North of London) called Paradise Lost back in the 80's. I distinctly remember as the sample began to loop, there was a loss in top end but the way in which the DJ used it fascinated me. I have version 1 of this, and I love the character it adds to the sound as well as the features it provides. Thank you for the video.
PSP should make a software version of the Yamaha SPX90. Everyone used one when it came out. Also, PSP makes a software version of the Avedis E27 which is fantastic. One of the best EQs of that type.
There's a dual mono mode which gives you 2 independent instances on 1 channel. It can be in stereo or Mid/Side mode, which no single review has mentioned. It's whole new layer and makes it very interesting imho!
interesting, beeing a younger fan of audio engineering I recently started doing some research on why people are so into these old devices and i can more and more understand why
My original delay for Dub Reggae shows, this and Roland SDE 3000 (I think that was the model) which was one of the few delays back then that you could tap the delay time with either button on the machine or with a pedal, great fun doing completely over the top echoes and reverbs, I also had a Roland 501 (555 rack version) for the real fat analog effects, great times mixing then, a bit frustrating these days mixing when the bands insist on absolutely no effects but that’s a different discussion, lived through the 80‘s when people wanted effects to be a part of their sound and also an identifier for my „signature sound“, unfortunately I lost my sidetracks in a fire that no insurance would pay out for because it couldn’t be proved who was responsible for the fire, one of the saddest days of my life……
I'll update the comment below. I've just been trying to edit some presets I made using M/S mode. In this mode, the UI and response is so buggy that it's almost impossible to develop any patches. PSP make great products but they really should iron things out a bit before asking nearly $100. Please get them fixed, I so want to like this product, lol.
$149?!? This was a cool delay... back in 1983. Mike's done a nice video review... but the only thing appealing about this delay is, for me, I spent a lot of time on the original hardware so it feels quite familiar. But there are SO many great delay plug-ins these days that sound way better than this now. To my ears, all the things that are unique about it actually sound kinda crappy.
After five minutes I gave up. I'm not sure there are any sounds from the plug-in here. There is this crazy trick that most channels use where they play something right away.
@@heyhey708 V2 work flawlessly in PT 2023.3 with intel i9-1098xe. By the way, if you are looking at Pulsar 8200 by any chance, DON'T buy it yet. It crashes my PT as well as messes up my computer causing it having blue screen.
@@srwaite7 Thank Steve. Yes, I saw. That's still a bit steep for me. Mike's review of the Space Station reverb/delay sounds amazing, but I wasn't blown away by this tbh.

Good stuff! Thank you, Mike! I’d like to see PSP Audioware do a Lexicon Primetime plugin 😎
I don't know what it is but this plug sounds so good to me

Love to see a really good Quadraverb plugin. So good I bought it twice! 😎

The Soundtoys primal tap is a great unit for doing that resampling stuff too! I think it's even modelled after a similar unit
Another awesome demo and review!
Nice update, to a classic plugin, of a classic delay. 😊
The name of the company actually is PSP Audioware. "PSP" is regularly confused with PlsayStation portable. Besides that, a great demo video.
If this is stereo delay how do I get left to out put 1/8 dotted and right channel to output 1/4 triplet?
This is really cool delay plugin!
An old friend.

I have version 1 and it crashes from day one until now. They give me free upgrade to version 2. Let see how it runs in Pro Tools.
How are you making out with version 2 in PT?

Seems lovely, but, at $149, quite pricey for a delay.
You can get for $99 right now. 👍🏻
