Loving the Cold Waters streams and the synthetic vibe. And miss the old format but we know the reasons but the hurricane stream, mailbag, Admiral Chair, the OXs door and all the stories 😂😂😂
What is nice about Euro truck simulator is I could drive a truck around an area where I used to live (and felt very nostalgic about). Then I could turn on the radio and listen to the local radio stations live. Very strange and actually emotional.
Tornado was a rad game. I liked how you could lase anywhere on the map, the runway strikes were ace...getting the JP233 right, whilst avoiding all the AAA and SAM. I spent ages planning the missions and arming the planes...maybe hit the first few targets, then die...assuming I even got there. Hard AF, but great fun...still have the original box and discs somewhere!
When I was a graduate physics student at San Diego State in the early 1990s we had some students who were working part time for the Navy at NOSC(Navy Operational Support Center) in Point Loma, an applied research lab for underwater acoustics. I also had a classmate who had done development work on the stealth dielectric coatings on the F-117 Nighthawk in the 1980s. There was also a technology company in San Diego, SAIC, that helped to sponsor physics departments at the local universities. We had physics faculty and postdocs from UCSD who were also working for General Atomics there.
I used to play Falcon 4.0 and Su-27 flanker back in the late 1980s to early 1990s, along with IL-2 Sturmovick later on. I think it was initially developed by Gilman Louie with Spectrum Holobyte, which later became Microprose. Falcon 4.0 was a hardcore flight sim that had a steep learning curve, at least for me.
In Arizona golf course irrigation water comes from the sewer plant discharge treated water. Colorado river water is mostly used for farming in Az. We have a 70 year supply of drinking water in the north and east state reservoirs.
If you care about gunamithing at all, Mark Novak is another Navy guy on youtube who can be fun to watch. I think he said he was a submariner on Key West?
Sonar (aka Aaron) needs to stop snoozing on watch. Identifying a trawler as a Foxtrot (resulting in war crimes.. 😀 ) and then looking for more ships when the game clearly said "Weapons nearby" not Vessels. Enjoyable video as always, thx man.
I think World of Warships, and other games from that company, use distributed file sharing methods for the install and updates. The thing that changed and left you unable to download the install files is likely your firewall disallowing bit torrent and similar connection signatures. Another setting that will break those types of installers is something like "disallow inbound connections" or someshit. Either way, all of those types of games are horrible in their monetization abuses that corrupt the playing field.
If there had been a few competent officers on the ship, I might have stayed. Generally there were one or two useful officers on each ship. The captain and XO usually didn’t help with retention. The surface Navy was an interesting job with terrible management. STG1 Tin Can Sailor.
If you switch to a high fat, high fiber, restricted protein, near-zero carb diet, you'll still gain muscle, retain your energy, and lose weight very fast. People are under the impression that they need tons of protein while weight lifting, but that's only because most of the protein in muscle can be broken down for the glucose that many of the amino acids contain (such as Glutamine). So, if their body is blocking fat burning due to glucose triggering insulin release, their body will catabolize the protein in their food into glucose, which sustains the insulin levels until the body ends up getting fatter while eating its own muscle.
@ Onlysubs I have a few question if you can answer. 1. The first is cold waters related: I play with dot mod, and most often as I enter the game the contact disappears immediately. How can I keep the contact on the map? 2. Was there a particular reason you stopped playing CW for a while? I watched one of your first 2022 streams recently, and I got the impression you were not allowed to play it. Was I right? 3. When submarines transit places like the English, Panama and Suez canals, and sea lanes like the Bosporus, Malacca, Bering, Magellan & Danish straits. Very dense shipping lanes in other words. Are they required by law to do this on the surface, or can the at least some of the places mentioned sail submerged? Catchy music and great to have you back sailing the world seas.
Most of the time that initial contact is the contact that pulls you out of the map view so it's just that sonar has picked up something on that bearing but they don't know what it is. If you want to keep the contact you'll have to start closer but obviously that makes it more likely that they will counter detect you. Your best conditions for passive detection are going to be sailing perpendicular to the contact at 5kts on the same layer as the contact and having your towed array out.
Jive ,totally getting that 80's action adventure vibe with the new music.. Nice 👍👍
Liking the background track idea 👍

Ohhh yea, that good ol' 688. I wonder what dubstep sounds like underwater projected from one lol?

Love the synthwave (although I do miss the ambient cold waters music).

I feel like this is Admiral Turkey's rebellion against the machine.
Great music, having 80’s flashbacks!
Man, I really miss those hundreds of cold waters videos, I haven’t logged into patreon in a while could they be there?

I remember Tornado! I loved playing the training missions
Hey Jive I need your advice ....about a year ago I got a very big dog. Just found another...I think I should buy it???
Music bed with drums doesn't feel stealthy
