    When you're playing a strategy game, and the opposition is playing friggin' Ace Combat.

    This was rough, those F-14s were really putting the miss in missile for you.

      I've found that aircraft need to be set to at least Veteran skill level to have reasonable PK on missile shots.

    GG Aaron, I watched the first three hours straight, but had to go so i skipped to the AAR just to see how you made out... Very well done!

    So, having watched more of this, there are a few points to make, although I'm not an expert by any means this is stuff I've picked up from people who flight sim the F-14. They may or may not have an impact in this game, but they are things you can try at least.
    Firstly, all of your planes are far too low during transit to the AO.

      Ive seen from other Gameplay, when a ship launches one missile at at a time agianst an aircraft, the chaff will distract it. Than the ship tried again with another single shot, by than the chaff reloads, the situation just repeats. You need to double tap every shot so the chaff can't distract two missiles. I think on some situations this was happening even aircraft to aircraft

    The micromanagement of platforms is what I'm finding so challenging with this game... Otherwise I'm liking it. Thanks for the great vids Jive and Happy New Year to you and your family from me and mine. 🎆

    My Dad was a reporter that was a former marine and covered the invasion for the news service he worked for. We had no idea where he was, he wasn't allowed to tell us. It obviously wasn't like this scenario, but this is a 'what if'. There were some interesting stores that came out, some of them were used in the movie Heartbreak Ridge.

    EA6Bs can also carry shrikes. Also, why not bring more Harriers into the A2A fight?
    For taking out the AAA, A-7s can carry Walleye standoff glide bombs and the A-6 has LGB, both of which can be dropped outside AAA engagement zone and are accurate precision strike weapons.

      Also, wonder if some RA5 flights over the island would have helped with scouting all the hostile positions

    If you go into the F10 menu and go to tools you can turn drop tanks in combat off for better time on station. I think this should become a launch setting in the flight deck menu.

    did they change sonar ranges? pickup contacts at 100+ miles on sonar was unheard of a month ago.

    Sea power is back! (It never really left, Jive was just waiting on bug fixes)

  • @Badmavs
    @Badmavs Месяц назад +4

    Hmm, happy to see it, but from what I have seen bugs were not fixed for the airwar part, rather multiplied. Let’s watch. I guess Aaron did not want to get embarrassed and rave about bugs like, so he just recorded it in a dark closet )

    Those migs were on the deck. Was the altitude difference between the Tomcats and the migs causing a bad radar return?

    Looks like at 2:24 it was one of your own missles that downed the second AWACS, whoops

    I have to say that the Aircraft AI still needs some work. Especially when dealing with EXPORT countries because they do not have the same capabilities as the parent Nations aircraft. Even Iran's F-14 and F-4 were an export version.

    I don't understand why the AIM54's are not being launched from long range. Within 20 or so Sparrow's are the preferred weapon - from what's on line.

  • @mauerpauer16

    The difficulty in this game is pretty much your weapons suck and the enemy missiles are god like accurate.

    Statistically in ww2 non radar guided aaa took on average 600 shoots to take down an aircraft. Devs are playing jokes. Is there any mod that can fix it? Similar crap can be found in DCs but people usually mod it out. In Israeli - Arab wars Egyptian and Syrians Sam and pilots were so bad there was not even a contest. One Israeli aircraft took down 5 migs in one mission. And here some Granada banana farmers are doing wonders 😂
    Feels like all game devs are on kremlins salary of vodka, pickles and winter hats 😂

    Unfortunately this scenario ran like hot garbage and was almost unplayably slow after the main threats were dealt with.
    Hopefully they can double the performance improvements with help with the game engine maker named Unity.
    Otherwise Sea Power is going to be a persistent painful experience.
    This scenario was decent overall.

    Very bad Mod, Mr. Tim. Totally unrealistic enemy capabilities. Anybody can create an indestructible enemy. But things should be at least semi-realistic. These aircraft are given super powers that simply never existed. So it's lost all credibility as a war game. Pointless to play this Mod since it is so one-sided. Aaron should be wiping this enemy force out. He has real-time experience and is Uber careful with his assets. So don't even attempt this mod, unless you like losing. Kudos to Aaron for sticking this out for 5+ hours and sticking to mission objectives. I would've walked away as soon as I saw the enemy superpowers.

    • @k333rl
      @k333rl Месяц назад +2

      i've played it a couple times and it's really not that bad if you have even the slightest clue of what you're doing.

    • @ColonelEviscerator
      @ColonelEviscerator Месяц назад

      @@k333rl I would suggest that Aaron does have a clue, and this still turned into an unfun six hour slog of a mission.

    • @k333rl
      @k333rl Месяц назад +1

      @ColonelEviscerator never suggested that he didn't, but the line between reality and game isn't very blurry here. Plenty of real-world tactics have absolutely nothing to do with how this GAME is played. I know that he knows how the real life tactics work, but that doesn't always translate into this game in its current state. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it a bad scenario. Hell, he was able to make a 5 hour video about it and got how many views? Seems to be just fine in the grand scheme of things.
