This is a damn good looking Superman
That it is!
Definitely should be used as the body for more iterations of Superman going forward! Will probably have to use a plastic cape though to cut down on the price.
I really hope they implement the new knees and elbows in all their figures moving forward.
Is this Superman on the same body mold as the Knightfall Batman?
No, its much bigger.
I picked up one of these and I had the feeling that the joints are much softer than other McFarlane pieces.. in my case the hands come off very easily too.. did you notice that on yours?
No issues here
Hey @duntersreview. Can I ask what do you use for your action figure photograph ?
A canon camera
Sometimes my phone for individual shots
I picked this guy up a few weeks ago despite the additional price. I think it's rapidly becoming a favorite for me and it because it has that Golden Age vibe to it, I prefer it to the frankly disappointing 1st appearance Superman from last year (mind you, if I could find the chase variant of that I might feel differently). I have nothing bad to say about this figure, it just pops on every level.
It’s fantastic
Can’t wait for them to use the body again
Those elbows are just so close. They already figured out clean sculpted pinless with Mr Freeze.
But still this shows that Mcfarlane doesn't need to do jagged cuts with the elbows and knees.
Still they could do more before finalizing but it's a better start. I want to see them move to a pinless looking design like they started with Freeze.
Better proportioning. Articulated necks would be nice.
But the lack of sculpting of the logos is becoming noticeable.
The biggest problem with pinless joints is it limits customizing and part swapping
Excellent figure, the only issues are the price and belt paint problem. I would have preferred the \S/ on the cape to be more to scale with the one on his chest. The Earth-2 Crisis Superman head looks great on the Return of Superman body. Did you use the existing neck peg or did you use a longer one?
Existing
Not impressed with the cape ginormous S it's such a let down as is the coloring of the hair. But I will still get one until the right Earth 2 Superman is finally made. Both S symbols are the same size on the front and back. But I did like the body switch you did that was very cool looking!
Which Batman figures do you think scale best with this guy? Are any the same height?
A lot of them
Hush or first appearance come to mind
They big but should pair well with him
I’m so impressed with the cape. It’s easily the best design I’ve seen on any 6” to 7 Superman figure.
Cape and body are fantastic!
I got my wave yesterday and got two pshyco pirates and no spectre i have heard that multiple people having the same issue i have to send them back the duplicate to get the figure i ordered originally i am still pissed they did this with the bvs batman bundle i got last month i didnt get the bvs batman they put the platinum sky dive batman instead which isn't even the same movie batman someone in there warehouse is screwing up these orders especially since the figures missing are the ones that are sold out and most popular
Well that is super annoying!!!
At least you can easily trade or sell the platinum Batman for a Batfleck
McFarlane hasn’t given us the “perfect” Superman because he thinks then we’d stop collecting that character, even though he could. Always just one thing off to keep collectors from becoming “too” satisfied
That is nonsense
He could make 10 “perfect Superman figures” and they still be selling.
I like this figure except for the wired cape (I prefer cloth capes with no wires).
I prefer plastic or wired cloth
Dhunter how do you know it is a platinum of pshyco pirate?
Someone emailed McFarlane and they shared their response.
Nice 👍 i was hoping for a platinum Superman wearing a gold suit don’t ask why.
One of the best superman figures on the market imo.
It’s good, really good. I hope they use this body on a more traditional normal head.
You should have tried the 1st appearance head on this body
That would prob make a god match
The head is kinda big, or at least the forehead is a bit big?
Dunno it didn’t bother me
If not for the head this would be one of the best Superman figures ever. But I just can’t like his head, I will still buy it because overall is great.
Sigh. Kind of want to pic up this wave for spectre and this Superman but I can’t really justify the price to pull the trigger on them. Also they can’t fucking paint the belt fully?
Belt thing doesn’t bother me at all
I would not have even noticed if I hadn’t read about it.
They came to $27 each for me after shipping and taxes way more
Than usual, usual a baf wave from McFarlane toys store comes to less than $20 each
@@dHuntersReviews what a shill you are sir 🤣🤣🤣
@@bat8858I don’t see how he’s a shill by breaking down the price lol. Relax buddy
@@LeeEricsson 😂😂😂😂 I see you like d#c riding
Yes, I am a shill because the backside of the belt is not painted that you will never see unless you lift up his cape
I would never have even noticed if I didn’t know about it already
I like the body
Excellent body
Need that Spectre review bro. 😊
Monitor next
Then Spectre
When Mark Ruffalo cast as Superman..
The hair sure
My take on this is that the Toddfather has labeled the most wanted figure (The Spectre) Sold-Out forcing the crowd to buy the bundle with the even sh:ttier rest of the bunch! But on the other hand, if that is true, he would have had thrown the Anne Hathaway Catwoman exclusive in an overpriced bundle and would have made the most wanted one (with ears) a platinum chase variant,...wait a moment,...ohh! I tell you what the Toddfather has learned with his moves: That morons do moronic things and that there are more than enough morons (at least cognitive dissonants) around buying sh:tty prototypesk figures for almost double or more (most of the people who have bought the whole bunch have basically confessed paying around 150$ just for that subpar, borderline Spectre alone) and therefore he will go further down the rabbit hole of lesser (quality) for more (money)! Simple as that but for, sadly to many, people it seems to be rocket science!
I would like to think he is not pretending items are sold out. I don’t think he does that sort of stuff.
@@dHuntersReviews Me too, but some "conspiracy theorists" that have created the constitution (and signed it September 17, 1787) teached us, that Power needs checks&balances. A logical and simple concept too, but for some people (you excluded) even that is rocket science.Sad!
Wow wow wow this is soooooooo awesome!!!!! I get mine tomorrow and can not wait but really scared because I saw a comment saying they got 2 pshyco pirates instead of the spectre because that’s the one I seriously need!
How’d you like it?
Oh it’s taking the number one spot for best Superman!!!!!!
He’s so good
Now use this body with a regular head and modern logo and we have our Superman!
I have to say as much as I would love for McFarlane to reuse this model I don’t want him to that way it’s special for those that paid the $40.
I agree but they will be using it
That’s not why these were 40
All the rest are reuse and are also $40
I didn’t get it but I’d say Superman is worth the added price more due to the soft goods wired cape. It would probably cost $20 for just the cape from a customizer artist/craftsman.
That logic is flawed. Custom heads can cost close to $50 printed and painted, does that make every figure with a bonus head a $50 value?
@@zeroyagami7753 it’s very different when an artist makes and paints one at a time then when it’s done on an assembly line in a factory.
@@MTB214 Ah so you agree with my initial statement that your logic is flawed. It costs McFarlane toys pennies to make a cloth goods cape at the quantity they do so using that as $20 value added doesn’t actually justify the price hike.
No way they can release wired capes like these on $20 figures.
@@dHuntersReviews First Appearance Batman coming out has a wired cape is the standard retail price so it’s not out of the question
McFarlane got his ugly Superman down. $40 for this is an easy pass for me. This is like what the second figure recently that I've seen with skimping out on paint. The BvS Batman got that lighter, washed out looking gray on his whole back. Come on.
The grey on Batfleck back is the same on the front…
@@dHuntersReviews My wording is off but I meant the darker paint that was applied to the front is missing on the backside.
I would say this is the only figure in the wave that is worth the price
Donald Trump is coming back
BABY
McFarlane making a figure of him?
Too big. God dammit, Todd.
he is 6’4 in the comics, this is the most accurate scale he has had for superman. hush bats is still too big even compared to this
He’s just right
Not even he's the perfect size
