I’m not a die hard Batman fan but Absolute Batman is my favorite Batman. Not just because of his design but the plot and backstory of this Batman is like a breath of fresh air. LOVE IT!!!
Thomas Wayne is not a doctor in this universe but Bruce’s teacher. That’s cool take on Thomas Wayne in this universe showing that he is not just Bruce’s dad but a mentor to him too which is interesting.
I know DC fans are jaded AF because of all the resets the last 10 plus years but this looks awesome. They're taking everything about Bruce's character and literally inverting it while still keeping who he is at it's core with some fresh elements while keeping him separated from the earth prime Batman but in the same vein of acknowledging that he adjacently exists across from earth prime continuity.
I love how this Joker is a cold and calculating Billionaire. A Lex Luthor type who will presumably want to destroy Batman because he’s a threat to his vision for humanity. That’s a great way to switch up the dynamics, and i wonder if other Batman characters will be upper class like the joker. presumably it will be characters who are working class in the normal continuity like Jason Todd and Tim drake
I grew up in a lower class family and I was also diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome so to see a Batman that’s just a hard blue collared worker means a lot to me it really warms my Heart that you guys covered my favorite superhero batman

I love this version of Batman, the set up, the shuffling of characters and relationships, but keeping the core aspects of the batman, i’m gonna buy my physical copies and make art of him.
When I first heard this version of Batman wasn't a billionaire and working as a city engineer. I thought he was going to be something like Future-State Batman were Bruce loses all his money and uses a "home made" makeshift suit to go on patrol. But this also works too, as this Bruce is smart enough to grab or salvage resources.
It seems like the writers of this Absolute Batman drew clear inspiration from Spawn. The amorphous cape, the battle ax, the hulking body and the ultra-violence...even the panel where Bats puts on his cowl with his cape flowing long in front of him in silhouette is reminiscent of classic Spawn.

Add them together and its an even smaller group. Even if you allow for the fictional element and say there are 100 others his height and build in Gotham who fit the bill (Which is highly unlikely, even in a comic book setting). Its a MUCH smaller pool to focus your investigation on. Plus from the reaction of the guy on the punch bag before this Bruce, I'd say someone his size isn't normal.

There is a neat thing I noticed that I don’t think was mentioned. Batman tells Barbara the same words his father told him before he was killed in the shooting at the zoo. I feel like there was a lot of meaning in that. The very last words his dad ever spoke to him.

Dude's an engineer. He's had working experience with the utility companies that provide power, water and sanitation services as well as construction crews. He has a very practical approach and knows his way around the city.
Alfred was in the Military before he became a butler. So its good to see how he would have ended up if he wasn't working for Bruce Wayne. Its nice to see that Batman still have a parent and have his genius level intelect despite having no Money to the Wayne name.
