      Do you have dimensions/plans for this?

    • @northwiebesick7136
      @northwiebesick7136 3 года назад

      Would it be possible to do this with an actual router, that has a switch??? Perhaps, (using a battery powered router as an example) by idk, locking a battery operated router into the on position, and getting a cordless battery connector, to hook to an empty battery shell, or something like that, and have a switch in between for turning on the unit, then you would have a unit that you can use elsewhere, likely, yet possibly still have all those benefits that you mentioned. I was thinking about getting a battery operated router, if I could find one that supports being used in a router table, and I guess, if I had to, I wouldn't mind using a plan like this, but with 3 sides, while keeping a frame on the open side for more stability, and with the open side, I would be able to access the switch, if I had to. Also, I wouldn't need the fence, for most of the things I would like to use the router table for, if I ever decided to build one...
      **Edit** even though you said it was a sealed box, I just got to the part where you made doors for it, so that part of my comment is covered, I guess...😂😂

    Love the DIY videos but I don’t know about other people but I would love to see a 4-5 part series of this actually being built step by step not just highlights with music. Even if you had a Patreon I’d jump all over that. Some parts of the build seem uncomplicated but others I’m scratching my head. Just a thought but I do enjoy your videos.

      I agree, this is not DIY-this is you did it with a number of tools I don't have, techniques that I am still not sure of and a lot of skill I don't yet have. Super cool and fun to watch, but not very instructional

    Nicely done Johnathan. Because my shop (corner of a garage) has such limited space, I built mine as a side extension to my table saw and shares the fence. Wish I had the space for a dedicated router table nice setup.
    On epoxying the t-track - chew up the outside/underside corners of the aluminum- it’ll ad some mechanical tooth for the epoxy to hold onto.

    The wooden copy of the fireball clamping squares is a great idea. I have a few made for internal clamping, but external ones like those would be handy as well. Thanks for the idea.

    The video is well done and clearly extensively edited. Would have liked to see longer duration views of details and more discussion of critical design issues. For example, I would guess that two layers of 3/4 inch baltic is not going to sag under the weight of the router. The box enclosing the router and left definitely seems to cut down on sound. Would like to have had more information on how the dust collection works and again more pictures of the finished project from all angles.

    I am in the process or building this router table now. But I already have a Triton router that has the built in lift. I also have a jessem router table top. Long story short I also have a Kreg router fence, so I am trying to coble all of this together and make it work. I have to have access to the router under the table to access the locking lever, and I think the on off switch I think because of a locking mechanism on the switch cover. So the front of the router box will actually be a door. Anyway I am a big fan, bought your plans a while back you had a sale and offered a bunch of your plans for a great price and I took advantage. Keep on trucking. 😎

    Great video as always. I'm in the process of making one myself. I have a question, What would be the best finish for the Baltic birch plywood top so it can be as smooth as the phenolic plate?

    Very nice! How important is it to have the fence perfectly squared, or it doesn't matter since the bit is round, unlike a table saw where it does matter very much? Thanks a lot.
